The 2-5 pounds to go and stuck thread ... Join me to lose the last few pounds!
This is the all-new "Join me to lose the last 2-5 lbs club"!
This type of thread helped me famously as I was on my weight loss journey in 2007. Now I am back looking for more, support, friends and few pounds to lose ... I am still thin but feeling down in the dumps with poor eating and a lack of motivation.
Who wants to join me to lose the last 3-5lbs and stay healthy! Post goals, rants, diaries of your day if you like, we can lose those last few together!
YES WE CAN!
hey ladies,
Yesterday's plan of grilled chicken salad for lunch turned into a tiny plate of lasagna. So I only had a small can of tuna and a couple slices of cheddar cheese for dinner...rounded out the day at about 1000 calories...made up for the sloppy joe's the night before. :) Stepped on the scale this morning, 122.8...7.8 lbs to go! Thawed out some salmon steaks for dinner tonight.
I watched Ghost Town last night...hilarious!
Hi gals,
Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. I wasn't slacking, I was just snowed-in with shady internet for a few weeks. Aish. Anyways, it's awesome to see people still posting and it sounds like everyone is doing really well with the post-Christmas workouts.
I have been really great with excerice, but not so great with the eating. I also just took my first Flow class at Goodlife. Has anyone tried one before? I find it so relaxing.
Cheers!
Hi Everyone,
Glad to see this thread up and running again! I've had an up and down holiday season as well, and hoping to get things back to normal again. For the last 3 weeks, despite regular exercising (5xs/week) and normal eating - my weight has managed to jump up and down from 2 to 4 lbs any given morning. Maybe I shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but it is depressing to not be able to keep my goal!
Also, work's busy and I usually get to the gym only at night for a good hour or so work out, but I always notice my weight go up during the week and then down a bit on the weekends - anyone else see this?
heh thanks for the welcome lousrocks.
I did jump back on my scale, kind of grateful I didn't do it last week because I got my monthly guest. So now I'm holding at 116. I hope to see 115.9 any day now. I've started doing some calisthenics, but I'm still way too lazy to go to the gym even though it's literally right downstairs. I plan to mostly lift weights, with just some cardio to warm up before I do the weights.
I'm a little worried about my eating plan. I'm having a hard time eating past 1300 without eating crap food. Today so far I had yogurt and granola for breakfast, a 6 oz chicken sandwich for lunch, and a granola bar. I guess 800 at 1:30 PM is okay, but that leaves me with 600 for the rest of the day. I kind of had this same problem yesterday too. I guess I should get more snack foods.
good evening!
I would very much like to join in this group - I have been able to succeed in my previous group with a Christmas goal of 125 (124.8 on December 20). The other group seems to have died off, sadly enough.
I am at 123.2 and would like to make it 117. The first 20 pounds came off nicely, but now that I am down to a healthy BMI the scale is moving painfully slow. It isn't helping that it's so cold here and my running is getting cut back often. I just can't get into running on the treadmill.
I am 40, 5'1" and began in July of last year at 152 pounds. I run three times a week and go to they gym three times a week (mainly cardio, but some weights also). My burn meter (set at sedentary and I log my activity) is 1530 a day. My calorie goal is 1330. This usually provides me between 500 and 700 calorie deficits each day.
I'm really looking forward to this thread - I do much better when I am involved with one, but I feel awkward posting to threads where people are working so hard and struggling to lose weight and I'm unhappy about my last 6 pounds.
Thanks everyone!
welcome to the group, a_mckh. I hope you stick around. Things do seem to get slower when you get closer to your goal.
hey ladies, welcome newcomers. Sorry I've been out lately...work, kids, winter...blah. I'm still holding steady at 123 (5'3", 34 y/o)...will I EVER see 115, right now I'd settle for 120?! Not if I dont get my butt up and running again...I hate running in the cold but I hate treadmills even more...when will Spring be here?!
A_mckh -- As far as healthy snacks, I like to munch on almonds or baby carrots in the afternoons...1330 sounds like a good goal for you.
I was doing great at 1300 for awhile but I've slacked off...time to get serious again! Today I had a Slim Fast meal bar for breakfast, grilled chicken salad for lunch...probably a can of tuna and some veggies for dinner. I had a soda yesterday...the Devil! I have got to stay away from those if I want to keep losing the weight. Today I've only drank water and tea. :) I'm pretty proud of the fact that I did not buy ANY GirlScout cookies!! Love those thin mints!
Keep it up girls...it will be swimsuit time before we know it! :-P
Hi guys, I have been MIA because I have had a dark few weeks and 3lbs weight gain. But I am ok, back on the wagon, and today has a great weigh-in. So I am plowing through and am GOING TO LOSE THOSE LAST 2-5lbs. Who is with me?
My method now has been to eat a bigger lunch and less at dinner. Better weigh-ins the next morning and I feel energized going to bed rather than full and sluggish.
Keep doing it everyone!
Hi nycgirl! Welcome back. Glad to hear you're back on the wagon. I've been MIA as well. I'm visiting with my boyfriend and his family on PEI and to welcome me they've been feeding me large amounts of lobster, potato salad and scallops! I think I've gained around 3 pounds as well but am heading to my natural habitat on Tuesday so I'm hoping to be back on the wagon there with you! Until then, I'm enjoying my vacation.
I'm not feeling bad about the gain because his family keeps commenting about how tiny I am so I guess those pounds aren't showing.
Eating less in the evening I think works for me too. I hear that it doesn't make a real difference, but if you're weighing every morning, I think it gives a more accurate weigh-in as opposed to having food weight still in your belly.
Hey firebrand, I have no doubt that once you get back to your normal habitat those 3lbs will just come right off, Enjoy your vacation, that seafood sounds divine!
I am still having a great week, eating reasonably, keeping the intake of junk to a minimum and continuing to have good weigh-ins. I am back roughly to the weight I was before Christmas (although it's too soon to know if it's "real") and I am motivated which is the most important thing.
Now I want to start incorporating some exercise so that is next, I think I will start small with once a week and work up from there. I have to keep it real otherwise I will not be able to sustain it!
Hi i was wondering if i could join in as well! I am a 20 yr old college student, and gained about 15 lbs during the fall. 5'3 and 1/4... started december at 135lbs, i am now 123... my goal weight is 117lb... so i am close...! I exercise 5-6 days/wk with 2 high intensity cardio and weight training days, and running 3 x's a week... Usually seem to keep my calories around 1200 during the week, sometimes more on the weekends... anyways the last 5 lbs would be great, and I am hoping the come off fast! any good tips or suggestions ? always welcome, and i hope everyone is doing well!
Glad to hear that everyone is motivated!
I got on the scale yesterday and apparently eating lobster dripping with butter, scallops deep-fried in butter, drinking tons of local beer and doing no excercise DIDN'T cause any weight gain! wtf?! How did that happen? I got on the scale yesterday and I was the same when I left. I'm not complaining but do think I'm a little out of shape. I went for a run and today am so sore! I'm usually never sore from running. Ah well!
jinderbitzen: of course you can join. I see no problems with that at all. The more the merrier! I'm the around the same height as you but my goal is a little higher than you. I am happy being anywhere in the 120's. I'm pretty much there and am mostly maintaining now though I wouldn't mind dropping a couple more. I like having some of my curves, and so does my boyfriend! I also started off bigger than you at around 162.
Sounds like you excercise lots! If you gained most of your weight back quickly at Christmas I find that it usually comes off quickly with a little dedication. You may want to up your calories a bit. You sound a little active and 1200 is always the minimum that you should have, and most girls need more. I actually think that part of the reason why I didn't gain is that I was restricting too much before my trip. It's hard to get that into your head, though.
Good luck!
hey ladies, I havent been counting calories much online so I havent been on here lately...I'm pretty impressed with how I've cut out so much junk food from my diet...I'm still hanging on to 123 but I FEEL better without the junk calories and more veggies! who knew?!! About 1500 cals/day is my norm, some days a little less...
I agree that 1200 is too low for someone who works out as much as you do, Jinder....with all that cardo/running, you should probably be getting more like 1500-1800 cals.
It's been warmer lately so I'm back to running more regularly 3x/week... if I could bump it up to 4-5x/week I could probably lose those last 5 lbs!! Work/kids/LIFE precludes that but I'm still trying!
Good luck ladies, hang in there!!
Lou
Hi, I'm new to this forum thing, but I thought I'd give it a try. My weight keeps yo-yoing and i'm exhausted. I was browsing around the site and bumped into NYC girls profile. Your weight goals sounded so similar to my own. I started my weight loss journey at 128 lbs, I'm 5'2 and have a small frame. I'm currently 110lb and at the end of a good week, i'll get down to 105lbs, but after a bad week, i'm at 110 AGAIN!! the skinniniest i've been is 103lbs and that was last month. I've noticed that you reached your goal weight and maintained it! How do you stay on track? I'm tired of yo-yoing. I'd like to maintain my gw at 95lbs (-/+3) Please help....
I guess I already know what to do since I've done it before, but I'm here for some serious support. thank you for listening

Hi there, although I did maintain my GW for 1+ years ... lately I am actually really struggling and in the past 7 months since my wedding have gained 10 lbs and am now hovering around 109-110lbs. Which is not bad, it's just that I feel bad about myself. I am eating nothing but complete junk and I am not counting or working out. I have a flabby protruding stomach and am feeling lousy mentally and physically. It's bad.
But first of all, before I get all downer about my own struggles ... congrats on the WL. Aren't you proud of losing 15-20 lbs!!??? How amazing does that feel? That is what you should focus on!
How old are you?? I do think you GW of 95 lbs is too light for someone 5'2", even if you are small boned ... like me :-)!
The reason you are "yo-yo-ing" is because going from 110-105 in a week in someone already so light is not considered healthy WL. Healthy WL is no more than 1-2% of your BW per week. So this means no more than 2 lbs per week. Otherwise it is probably water weight or weight being lost from eating too little. It isn't sustainable. Aim for no more than 1-2lbs per week and let it average out over time. There are some weeks you might lose nothing and another week lose more. Also track your weight using CC tools such as the Weight Log and use the Trend Meter. You must follow trends not the day-to-day fluctuations.
But that being said, at 110lbs you really don't have much left to lose (either do I!) How much are you eating every day? Do you count calories? Do you work out?
I lost weight eating 1500 cals a day and not even working out (I just ramped up my overall energy by taking stairs instead of elevator etc). I plan to go back to that later this week just to get myself into a better place mentally. No more french fries!
Let's talk and motivate each other to do this the healthy and sustainable way! We can do it, we just have to be careful not to take it too far.
Looking forward to chatting with you.
I finally got off my butt a few weeks ago and back into real exercise. After a few weeks of going back to calorie counting, I've decided to stop counting again, as long as I'm exercising. I gained a pound of what I assume to be water weight since I started moving again, but I feel a lot better.
I do think exercise is the key more so than weight number or anything else. Exercise really makes the body feel good and that is my major goal now that I am done with school. I know once I work out the pounds will just drop off. When you are working out you get to eat more also, and I generally tend to eat better foods. It's like a positive feedback loop.
can i join? i am 20 yr old female, 5'3... 122 right now... goal weight is 115... and even tho its only 7 lbs... you know that on us small people that looks like 15 lbs!! i hate seeing myself in pictures and cant wait to be back to myself (only gained the weight last when when moving to school) i am highly active love to run, but the last 6 weeks i have made excuses (holidays/easter/spring break) to eat more and fall off the wagon. wellll im ready to be back on and get rid of this chapter in my life... any advice or tips? i am planning on 1200 cals for a few weeks to jump start my weight loss again and try to eat less around dinner time ... ok any tips on what works for you guys on these l ast few lbs??? reallly am anxious to be myself again
Hey all,
I still have the last 4.5 pounds to go!!
Height: 5'5
Weight: 112.5lbs
Ideal Weight: 108lbs.
I really have a problem with eating... I live in an Asian country so I am basically just eating white rice everyday, and I get hungry really easily, and end up eating junk. ): I'm totally stuck and I just can't seem to get down from 112.5! Sometimes I fluctuate a lot, but my weight usually reverts back to 112 or something. ): Really disappointed with myself.
I've been sick for the past week (still am, but can actually get up today) and those 2-5 lbs came right off :(
What is the diet for kidney stones?
For kidney stones, you should drink at least three to four quarts of fluid (preferably water) everyday. There are several kinds of kidney stones... Read more
