Stuffing Yourself on 100 Kilo-Calories
Hey all you lovely CCers out there!!
This morning I managed to eat a very moderate amount of 900 kilo-calories for breakfast! Hahahaha! I must not have been hungry. No, not at all... >XD
So now I have a conundrum. I have four hundred kcalories left for the rest of that day, and it's only 11:35!
I am planning on eating a giant salad for lunch. I know I can do this and stuff myself silly with 100 kilo-calories worth of food. But I never see posts on here talking about super filling 100 kilo-calorie meals. In fact just writing "100 kilo-calorie" and the word "meal" in the same sentence seems really foreign and incorrect.
I already logged the kilo-calories for the salad and it came out to, well, roughly 100 kilo-calories:
4 cups of iceberg lettuce- 32 kilo-calories
1 cup of mushrooms pieces- 15 kilo-calories
1 cup of cucumber slices- 16 kilo-calories
1 Tablespoons of fat free Italian dressing- 40 kilo-calories
Total~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>93 kilo-calories
That's CRAZY-looking, right? That is a terribly big amount of food for approximately 100 kilo-calories. It sort of makes me feel like I'm going crazy. I guess because "meals" ought to be more than just veggies and dressing so I've never seen this posted about before. This is a pretty sizable meal, though.
Has anyone done this before? I usually stuff myself on a salad a bit smaller than this at a meal and then have something like a medium baked potato with fixings or a cup of soup or something. But even on it's own (and after my lovely monster breakfast) it seems like a big amount of food.
Really tripping me out.
Is anyone else here surprised by the amount of food one can get away with without piling on the kcalories? ( o W o )V
It'll be a sizeable meal and you'll spend a long time chewing through all those salad items but it won't keep you feeling all that full for long because, ultimately, it's mostly water with some fibre attached. That's why herbivores like cows have to eat their own body-weight in grass & chew for 12 hours a day to get enough energy
Rather than doing something this silly, how about a light (more balanced) lunch and supper of about 300-400 cals each? Would probably be much more satisfying and you really wouldn't notice any difference when it came time to weigh in.
Hahaha! Poor cows. That's a lot of work!
I really want to eat something that is more than a bit of fibre and water- however, I also want to stick to my calorie budget today. I am planning on having a 300 kilo-calorie dinner, though. Soup, salad, and probably a piece of chocolate or something like that.
This is a pretty abnormal eating day for me- usually I am much more moderate at breakfast and have three well-balanced meals.
Sigh... I'll most likely end up having a normal 300 calorie lunch and likewise dinner, as you suggested, though. Hahaha!
Thank you! ( > W <)/
1300 calories a day is how much you're eating to lose weight, correct? So, presumably, you're giving yourself at least a 500 calorie deficit and actually burn 1800 calories on any given day? So, eat 1800 calories today. It won't make you gain any weight since you're not eating any more than you're burning. Plus, you'll find it easier to get your nutrition in and won't be starving by the end of the day (which may make you want to binge - and that would do far more harm than simply eating maintenance calories for the day).
how old are you? if you're under 21 then 1500 is the bare minimum. 1300 is pretty low for most people and hard to stick to in the long term...could lead to binging and feelings of deprivation. Maybe up your calories to 1500.
I'd definitely NOT eat the chocolate if you're going to stick to the 1300...some lean protein would be better in this case since your 100 cal "meal" doesn't really have any.
