Let say - you were stupid enough to eat a whole pizza
You're home alone............ and ordered a pizza.........thin crust........... and ate the WHOLE THING.
What would you do?
Cause I'm real close to crying.
This hits close to home. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt that suddenly feels two sizes smaller. Just write it off, remember that, and try not to do it again.
I agree - we have all been there. It is not the end of the world or your diet. Now with all this talk I really want pizza!
I'm only allowed 1 pc of pizza. ![]()
SO!!!! I tell the Pizza guy NOT to slice it. lol![]()

Don't worry, we've all been there before. It feels really miserable, and it feels like you're going to gain 5 pounds, but that's not true. I have had so many insane binges over the past year, but somehow I've only gained 6 or 7 pounds. and I have eaten boxes of cereal, entire loaves of bread, tubs of ice cream, half of a cake, etc... For maybe a month I was really depressed, and I ate 4,000 calories a day every day (maintence for me is 1650). I think our bodies all react differently to food and calories. The calories we know about/the ones that are on labels are the maximum amount the food contains, but how much do our bodies actually absorb? Everyone's different. Anyway, just put it behind you, and the important thing now is to get back on track. Don't let this pull you down. Think of it as a "cheat day". Zigzagging your calories (even through bingeing every now and then) may help confuse your body and boost your metabolism. That helps me. I'm such a perfectionist that if I binge a little, I think I messed up completely and binge for several days straight, which is SO much worse! Hope you feel better!!
Determine what it was that caused you to do so. Are you afraid of going hungry? Do you not feel like cooking? Is there something specific you are craving?
There is nothing wrong with eating pizza once in a while, but we all know here that unless it is a special recipe low-cal pizza, eating a whole pizza is not a good thing. However, I would say pizza is a much better choice than french fries, fish & chips or a deep-fried twinkie. At least you get protein, vegetables and calcium from it.
It is pointless to cry about this because it will only make you feel worse and may cause you to make more bad food choices. We all get weak once in a while---it's okay, just so long as it doesn't happen too often. Increase your exercise, don't decrease your *normal* daily calorie intake to make up for it, live and learn.
In the future, if you get an urge to order a pizza, try to determine why you are doing so, what a better option would be, and if you must have pizza, order a small one and add a big salad to it. Eat the salad first and use little or no dressing so you can get partially full and get some good veggies into your system.
And stay calm. I think we get into panic mode at times because we feel restrictions and worry that we are going to be hungry, or at times when weight loss is slow, it is easy to think that it's not working anyway, so I may as well eat what I want. But it IS working and there's nothing wrong with going a little over your daily allowance if you are still hungry at the end of the day.
Keep your goals in sight and think about how much extra work you have to do to burn off anything you cheat with. If we continue to cheat, our goal dates will keep getting moved back, but if we can just stick to it a couple months, we can make a dramatic difference in ourselves. It doesn't take long to go one way or the other. If so many women can give up their vices for 9 months while pregnant (and gaining weight the whole time!), we should be able to do so for 4 or 5 months to look amazing, right?
Keep trying. The fact that you are on here shows you are making an effort.

(And is feeling a little guilty herself!)
Thanks everyone!
Gosh its so nice to have people support you and help you get thru the hard times. I have been much better this weekend - got out and played 18 holes of golf today and am feeling better.
I know its emotional eating - I'm all alone right now (husband and son are travelling) so it was more of a 'poor me I'm all alone' binge. I have never in my life ever eaten that much pizza in one sitting. Preeeetty sure I'm never ginna do it again ;)
Thanks again!
i was in a weight loss class and there was something called "failure syndrome". you eat something wrong and you get mad at yourself. then you say to yourself "I've failed ,I'm a loser, and to hell with the diet.
but what they taught us was, count calories, track every thing you ate, then try to balance. lower the intake calorie over the next few days and maybe increase your exercise calories , you'll see that the week still wasn't that bad.
the key is don't go into denial. realize your mistake, acknowledge it , face it. and move on. don't throw away all the good days you had for one bad one.....
In all honesty I probably would cry too but then I would just get back on track the next day. Eating the pizza wont cause you to balloon up over night. It would only be a problem if this was done like every night.
Great advice^^^ all of the above.
I'm trialing a bit of a new mindset at the moment in regards to "untouchable" foods..ie, don't rule any foods that you truly enjoy as untouchable, as this immediately leaves you exposed to the whole craving/binge/guilt cycle.
The last few times we have ordered pizza as a family, I have had 1 or 2 slices, as opposed to the usual stuffing -myself-with 4-slices, and while waiting for pizza to be delivered, I've made myself a huge basic garden salad to mix with the pizza. Pizza mixed with salad is surprisingly palatable, as well as being a healthier, filling way of getting a "fix" without blowing out big time. Because I have had a small fix, it prevents that gnawing, craving feeling that can lead to the big binge that is caused by denial.
It's about finding a way to be in control of food, and managing it, rather than giving it the power to control you. Crazy , isnt it, that we can give something as insignifacant as a little pizza or piece of chocolate or whatever it is, so much power as to affect our mood for the whole day?
