stupid leftover halloween candy

Quote  |  Reply
I completely blew it today.  I resisted the siren call of the Halloween candy all day yesterday, not to mention resisting this kind of thing for the past month, and then....one sorta bad day and I went nuts.  I couldn't get the chocolate into my mouth fast enough.  I tried putting it away, high up in a cabinet, but only an hour later, found myself balancing precariously on the countertop trying to grab a few more pieces.   I finally had to go dump it in the trash.

I faithfully recorded everything I ate and cringe everytime I look at today's calorie count.  Now the hard part for me is getting back on track after a serious transgression like this.  How depressing.

who cares? what could you have possible consumed? 7000 worth of calories(very doubtful)

2 lbs. big deal..and thats assuming your body uses all of those calories, which is doubtful as well
tomorrow is another day, and luckily today is pretty much over : )
just joining the choir of STUPID STUPID candy!

I still have about 15 lbs of the stuff in my house. I wish I could gauge how soon I can dump the stuff without the kids noticing.
It is amazing how much I can eat without actually wanting it - just because it is there.

Just give it away.......Take it to work....

If you can resist, I take most of the chocolate candy bars, etc. and freeze them.   Out of sight = out of mine.

I have a feeling the next couple of months might be rough with the holidays coming.
I hear you!! I did just as bad yesterday! I ate about 700 calories worth of candy yesterday!!
I did the same thing yesterday, just because it was there. And those little snack size candy bars are too easy to eat several of. So, last night I made some low cal pumpkin souffle and that is the only desert I will allow myself today. Much better for me than those stupid little candy bars.
I really feel you guys on this one!!

I just try to keep telling myself it's not mine to have, it's my daughter's.  She gets to have one piece a day for dessert, and I don't sneak any, and she knows not to offer becaue I am on a low sugar diet, she's good at reminding me about things like that, even though she's only 4 she is my little motivator!!

I do have a cupcake in there though that she is determined is mine and I have to eat it, so mabye later on tonight, but the problem is, if I give in just a little I want more and more and more LOL

my sweet treat now  is usually oatmeal with cinnamon and sugar sustitute...not even close to as good as a cup cake, but better than a sharp stick in the eye  :)
I had the same problem, so I found the calorie count of most of the candies in the bag and taped the list on the cupboard directly above where the candy is sitting. The candy is out in the open, but so is the list of their calorie counts. I think long and hard if I'm willing to eat a piece of candy knowing it has 117 calories.
Hey, good idea charlottemccullough!!!  I have been bad too, and ya know, I didn't even realize how many calories those little guys have in 'em!  I have been honest today (hard as it may be) on my little calorie counter "eat meter"....3 tootsie rolls....OUCH!!!!!

This site is so interesting....I am liking it already.  :0)
That is a good idea charlottemccullough.  I'll have to try that next time.  The "eat meter" sure helps, too!
