Stupid muscle question...Biceps
I notice that on my arms, the round ball created by the bicep muscle is much closer to the under-arm when I flex than I see on other people (pictures online). It seems much closer to the elbow on others.
Is this normal for a woman or maybe because my biceps are not big enough yet? The ball seems to move up when flexing slowly.
I know - everyone is different, but I was just wondering if it will change as I lift longer, or if it is just the way I am built.
You answered the question for yourself. Not everyone is going to build muscle the same way. It's the same thing like when we complain about where our bodies decide to dump our excess fat. It's gonna do what it wants to do
Yes .................... I suppose!
Darn it! I want it to be closer to my elbow, so I can strut it even in short sleeves! lol
Seriously, then I guess it could also move after more building too. So, here's hoping. I am really happy to see the muscle at all! Never lifted heavy before 2 mos ago and really never lifted light either! Did yoga and pilates, so yes some hand stands, planks, etc. but nothing more than barbie-bells.

Rotate your forarm 90 degrees away from you when you flex (assuming your palm is pointing at you).
oooooohhhh.... that did work! Yikes, I don't even know how to flex right! Although the muscle looks smaller that way, it is closer to my elbow!
True and not true….there are different ways to build each muscle…and the bicept is no different… Biceps are made up of two (bi) muscles. These muscles are the long head and the short head. The primary function of the Bicep muscle is to move the forearm, so there are different ways of catching each muscle in different workouts… ie. Hammer curls…cross chest curls…palm down curls. You might just be catching one part of your biceps.
Thanks Eddie - I am following NROLFW program, so maybe I haven't gotten to that part yet, but I am sure it is a well balanced program! I am loving it by the way. I do notice a TON of definition in my forearms, since early on. My shoulders and upper arms are trying to catch up! There are no bicep curls or any isolation movements in any of his phases. Most of the movements require 2 or more joints. I am in the beginning of stage 3 now.
I do however - want as big of biceps as I can get
So I am hoping that the workouts hit my biceps in all the directions so I can get a big bump right above my elbow. lol Screw the skinny fat stuff!
lol...I hear ya...I use to have problem area's, and my stomach was the main one, but now...my body is exactly the way I want it. i have nothing that needs further work IMO...just strength.
Well good for you!!! That is AWESOME! I can't wait to say that too! I do have 4 pack abs already!... not sure I'll ever see 6!
My biggest concerns are my upper arms! For some odd and weird reason (just starting heavy weight training) those are really hard for me to get in shape.
ahhhh...yes....that was difficult for me too, until I started working out like an animal...
Yeah - I feel like I have been working out like an animal too, doing the nrol..... lol - but it has only been 2 mos. I think it takes a little more time.... Hopefully I will keep my motivation up! I am sure I will as I continue seeing results. I could not be one of those people doing the same thing time and time again, with no visible results!
...and - I am sure you know not alot of people can say what you said - that you are totally happy with the way you look with NO problem areas! That is a great accomplishment!
to be honest i only know one other person, and it's because of him why I buckled down, and said I'm going for the body I want, and attacked the gym like a freak...lol...
Well stick around! You may see more as there are a bunch of us women doing NROL! lmao
Really - I am not sure I will ever have NO problem areas! But I bet I can make some awesome improvements! Weight training really is awesome. But it is HARD WORK!
I sometimes wonder what happens when you stop. Yeah - I know the muscle goes away, but does the skin end up looking worse than if you never lifted? ... or will I have to lift into my 80s?

I would have to agree, you sure don't have any problem areas.
Congrats on your success. You saw what you wanted and went after it! Good Luck in January.
Make sure you are doing a variety when lifting. Work as many different muscles as you can.

Morjorie will be proud of you ;)

Yes, the only way to keep what you gain is to keep lifting.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
