ok the whole thing with president Obama swatting a fly and PETA getting upset..this is total bs. We have important issues going on and this incident makes headlines!!    I mean those ppl claim to cherish all creatures..well do they watch the ground to make sure they dont step on ants or other insects. Oh and  I assume that if they saw a spider crawling on their bed they would kindly put it outside..I dont think so.

And the whole spanking incident with that kate gosslin or whatever is so irritating. They use this incident to show that all this pressure is getting to her when in reality many parents do this. Now I am not a fan of this woman because  I do feel like all the money and fame has gone to her head and what she and john are doing could be seen as exploiting their children. The public did not seem to have a problem with any of this until they found out that this family was not so picture perfect after all and actually had some serious issues happening in the background. I mean come on ppl you cant really expect reality tv to honestly show "reality."  I think that the whole time out thing is a good method but sometimes a spanking is better. I dont care what these psychologists have to say...Its not child abuse. There is a big difference between this kind of punishment and excessive punishment on a child.

I just had to vent.....anyway all opinions are welcomed.

they never tell the real news. you have to get news from other countries to get the other side and then the truth is in the middle somewhere.

If the Dalai Lama can kill a mosquito....

wow..I wonder what PETA would have to say about that Smile

Saw that whole fly thing on The View this morning and after Whoopi read PETA's statement.  I laughed my head off at the insane idea of actually caring about a fly!

I don't feel that animals should be mistreated but PETA cares more about animals than they do about human beings!

I was already not a fan but they really ticked me off with the whole issue over the Obama's choice of dog that would not aggravate their daughter's allergies. Now they are tripping about a nasty/pesky fly? Give me a break! To me they are no better than some terrorist organizations! I mean throwing paint on people's fur coats, isn't that distruction of personal property?

lol I care about those furry creatures to, but come on the animal is already dead, and you are pouring paint on the only thing thats left of it.

Maybe Palin should work for PETA, speaking of making something out of nothing.

^she has too much fun hunting wolves from airplanes.

PETA is making a big stink right now in Seattle about the Pike Place fish market.  The fish stands are pretty cramped, and over about the last hundred years the workers got in the habit of throwing the fish to each other for stocking and cutting.  It's actually pretty cool to watch.  But according to PETA, it's disrespectful to the fish.

You know, I had been hoping this was a joke, but upon a quick search, PETA actually is trying to make a morality lesson about swatting a fly.  Geeze - it's like PETA is actively trying to make themselves appear more out of touch and irrelevant than they already are.

Next thing you know they'll have a problem with mosquito control in Africa. Undecided

ANY news about the Gosselins is irritating.  With any luck, they're on their 14th minute.

For consistency's sake, they should also be against antibiotics. Bacteria have rights too, you know.

And Purell - that evil, destructive, life disrespecting Purell.....

Check out Petakillsanimals.com

Its a really biased site, but there are lots of reports in many places about the number of animals they put down. Two peta employees went to court a few years back because they were euthanizing in their van and tossing the dogs in a dumpster. For an organization believing so much in 'population control' its awfully messed up for them to get angry over a fly.

They just hadn't been in the news in a while and felt they should do something about it.

I wish they would think about all the poor innocent carpet mites senselessly slaughtered everyday by vacuuming.

I wonder what PITA's position on lice is?

OMG!  I hope they don't see all the dead bugs splatted on the windshiled and grill of my car!  I'm a horrible, horrible, person.

Cry

THAT would be funny if they were all lice & crab ridden, going around scratching themselves

apparently it showed a picture of the little gadget that PETA thought Obama should have used in order to capture the fly and then let it go. Honestly who has time for that.

Just to lighten things up, Steven Colbert did a satire called Murder in the Whitehouse.  He interviewed a jar full of the dead fly's relatives but they were too upset to speak.
