What can I substitute for potato chips?
Asked by on Feb 05, 2009
My big problem is that I love potato chips. Whenever I eat a sandwich, I have to have them or I can’t eat. What can I do to fix this problem?
When it comes to eating potato chips, you can:
- Continue to eat a small portion of potato chips. Everyone has discretionary calories. It’s your choice
- Eat a healthier salty-crunchy food: Baked Lays, pretzels, crisp bread, mini rice cakes, popcorn, or baked pita chips from a recipe
- Eat a salt-free crunchy food: apple, sugar snap peas, baby carrots, radishes, sunchokes (Jerusalem artichokes), jicama, vegetable chips, popcorn, unsalted pretzels and rice cakes
- Eat Baked Kale Chips: People rave about this recipe and say it is the best substitute for potato chips
Review your options and decide which one feels best. Now give it a try. When you shop for chips, choose those that are lowest in saturated fat, trans fat, total fat, and sodium.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
