Subway Brownies
I cant find the nutritional information on their website. I went to a subway and it said they have "healthy brownies" with only 140 cals and something like 3 grams of fat! Now, I find this pretty hard to believe because a cookie is 210 calories! Does anybody know if this is correct?

I didn't know they even had brownies. Sounds fishy to me.
yea it does yellowfrog, thats why i havent eaten one until i find out the TRUTH! lol
I checked out the official Subway website - they actually have a really nice nutritional info section...only problem is they don't list brownies as one of the items they sell. Maybe this is something new? Sorry I couldn't help more!
I work at subway and they do offer brownies at some stores (but not mine) - since it is a franchise, not a corporation each store is free to serve or not to serve a lot of things. It depends on their food distributor too. There are a lot of things that are listed on their website that some stores sell. For example, my store offers sugar cookies during the holidays, but most don't. We also dont serve seafood anymore. It just depends on the store. Some subways also offer breakfast and serve cinnamon rolls in the morning.
I have heard about the brownies. They are actually pretty healthy - the problem is while they may be about 140 cals and 3 grams of fat, they do not portion them in serving sizes. So you usually get "a brownie" that is two serving sizes or more (they are pretty tiny in individual servings). Since I have never actually served the brownies, and do not know how big the pieces that individual stores serve, I could not tell you how many calories exactly are in one ACTUAL brownie.

Well, you know what? I think, I'll skip the brownie and have a cookie once in a while because I like their cookies anyhow. The white macadamia ones are delicious! Plus, I'm not a big brownie lover anyhow and if I'm not sure what I'm putting in my mouth, I'm NOT going to take that risk! Thank you so much to everyone for trying to help! Especially potteryhoney! Thanks sweetie!
I hate it when the nutritional value is for a serving size and the serving size is like 2.5 or something. Can't they just label it for what it really is?? I'm responsible and all that, but wouldn't it just make life easier?
Sorry, just a rant for Wednesday morning.

hi charlie, I hear ya. One of my favorite meals when I was single was a can of pork and beans and a hamburger patty. I was looking at a can the other day and it says 3.5 servings per can.
Yup - there is no getting around it, ya gotta check the nutrition label on everything.

It really bothers me when restaurants do that - Pei Wei does it - Each dish is really 2.5 servings AND they list all sauce and sides separately, so you have to comb back and forth rebuilding what they actually serve you.
The brownies are actually quite low in saturated fats (less than 0.5 grams per serving) and not high in calories (though 140 is kind of high). But, wow, I didn't know that the nutritional information was only for part of the brownie. 140 calories for part of a "healthy" brownie is useless.
But seriously...skip the Subway cookie... Eating a Subway cookie instead of the brownie because "you don't know what's in them" is completely ridiculous. I'm sure there's nothing even close to as bad in the brownie as there is in the Cookie.

I always take the grilled chicken breast salad (with extra pickles) and a bag of baked lays while I'm there.
Although I too don't know how much a serving size is I do know that there is a whopping 17 grams of sugar in a single serving. That is equivalent to two and one half tablespoons of sugar. So if a portion comes as two servings, that's 34 grams of sugar or five tablespoons. That must sugar over an extended period of time (as they are offered in hospitals etc. can cause problems including cardiovascular disease, tooth decay and other problems such as weight gain and obesity.
I guess like the newsclip says, a healthy brownie is an oxymoron like jumbo shrimp... let the buyer beware!
lol i saw these today! and the case said 'cmon you can have one' LOL! No I cant dumb case! dont taunt me! i just came for my 6" turkey on wheat!
IT's TRUE!! Check out http://www.nadjafoods.com/nadjasbrownie.html
Whatever happened to their apple slices, raisins, or yogurt as a side instead of a brownie or cookie? LOL ![]()
