Hi all,
I get my lunch at 1:30 everyday. I start work at 9 AM and since I am a Pharmacist I can not have any snack in between. So by the time it is 1:30 I have to have some thing that really rises my sugar because I feel tank bottom or almost fainting. Needless to say I am chosing subway veggie with white bread instead of wheat for the instant energy. will this hamper my diet because white bread is high gi? I am also not losing weight as I am supposed to?
It's the calorie content of your choices that will affect whether or not you lose weight. The actual food you get in restaurants often bears no relation to their published calorie-counts. Secondary could be the salt content.... fast-food is notorious for being larded with salt... because that can show up on the scales as fluid retention.
Have a rethink, perhaps....? How about taking some healthy snacks to have at work so that you're not famished by lunchtime? And maybe pack your own lunch so that you're more sure of the calories?
Good luck
There really isn't any difference between the wheat and the white bread as subway. Their wheat bread is basically white bread with brown coloring.

why do you say that the published calorie count has no relation to the actual calorie count?
if i were you, i would sneak away to the back to have some almonds or a protein bar at around 11. then for lunch i would have a turkey salad.
