Hi Everyone!

I've been at calorie counting for only a week and have lost 6 lbs...what a difference in my attitude to see the scale dropping!

Thank you for your support...I still have LOTS to go!

that's fabulouw tonya!! 6 lb is a LOT!!!!

it probably won't keep on disappearing at that rate, it's probably not healthy, in the long term, but don't get discouraged, even if it slows down.  you are doing the right thing!!!  and you will reach your goal, and maintain it for life, if you stick with us.
Don't forget to take your measurements too! The scale isn't the only thing you should use to determine your success. You'll want to track measurements around your waist, hips, and possibly thigh. The scale hasn't dropped much for me this week but I lost 1 1/2" from around my waist. If it hadn't been for that tape measure I'd have thought my diet wasn't working. So remember those measurements! Take them once a week, mark the date on them and how much you weighed at the time and try to do them the same time every week. You'll see the numbers shrinking. It really does feel great.
Yippee, ABC!  Isn't it the best feeling!

Stick with it - like Elin said, don't set your hopes on keeping that quick rate up - you don't want to get discouraged... slow and steady wins the race!
Hunny, you have lost 1 ½ inches off your waist in ONE week? Please do tell girlfriend :)
yeah want the secrets hunny!  Great job Tonya!!! 6lbs is awesome!  what is your goal to lose?
Good for you Tonya! It is a good feeling isn't it? I've been here two weeks tomorrow and I am down 9.6lbs. It's great!

Here's to hoping we all can stick to it and reach our goals. I've got a long way to go as well and many months to do it in but this is really a forever lifestyle change.
Cheers!
Eric...
I have 68 more pounds to go....justing saying that is overwhelming...but I am determined.  Everyday if I am tempted to eat something sweet (especially) I ask myself "Do I want to eat this more than I want to be thin?"....it has helped me keep my priority straight...

This group is fantastic!
that's another good way of saying it, abc123.  someone just posted somewhere that "those cookies look better on the plate than on my stomach" and someone else a while back said "nothing tastes as good as thin feels."   so i try to remember those, too.
And I like to remember " Only I can lose this weight No one  can do it for me "
