CONGRATULATIONS!!  I started on 3/18 at 119 pounds.  I lost 5 lbs. & 7.5 inches since then and I have 9 more pounds to go to reach my goal weight of 105!  I'm losing a steady 1 pound a week so I'm still on track for towards the end of June (just in time for bikini season!)

And I am in the same boat as you - I am in disbelief that maybe this time my goal weight will ACTUALLY BE REACHED.  I really hope both you and I can make it.  I believe it!!  It'll be great :)

Good luck and keep doing what you're doing!

I think we are all going to make it! Congrats to you both! I started my diet in early March, but I'm fairly new to CC. Anyway, I started at 135 and I'm down to 119. My goal is 105 by June! Once I get over this current plateau I think I will make it! It's kind of an exciting journey... :)

Keep up the good work, girls!

so what kind of diets are you guys doing. I started my diet on 2/23 and have only lost 7 pounds i excercise everyday and do weights. I try to eat healthy but maybe I'm doing something wrong. what else can I do?!!!

Well, I am on a 1200-1300 calorie diet and I'm strict about it. I work out everyday (maybe take a day off here and there to rest my body)...usually do tae bo, weights or any type of cardio for about 60 minutes.  It's been working thus far! It was tough at first cutting back on my food intake, but now I find I'm just not hungry and I am under my calories. I force myself to eat sometimes so I stay healthy and for the nutritional factor.

What exactly are you eating? How long do you work out for?

I also work out for about 60 minutes a day everyday except Sat & Sun. I spend time with my kids i've been working out exactly 2 months, and just started on 1300 calorie diet myself. It ahs been hard but I am noticing it getting easier everyday. But I get weighed everymonth at the gym and have only lost about 7 pounds. I have been working hard and well think I shloud be doing better. I gave up soda, candy, and wings (which are my favorite).  But I just started drinking a meal replacement for dinner. AHHHH what else can i do.

Hmmm. I'm not really sure. As long as you are burning 3500 calories a week you should lose 1lb on 1300 cal diet. Keep track of what you are burning. Maybe your body just metabolizes food differently. Have you taken your measurements? Maybe you are losing inches and building muscle (which weighs more than fat).  I'd say just keep track the next week or so and see if you notice a difference.

So if you are using "light" as your daily activity which is 1800 calories just "being" and you are eating 1300 calories...any extra calories you are burning is going towards that 3500 deficit. Do you follow? You need to burn at least 500 more calories than you are eating a day to reach 3500 for a week which = 1 lb lost. It's a bit confusing, let me know if you are lost. (I just learned all of this myself)

I'm here for ya!

Hello,

I'm a newbe.  I have drastic weight problem in my family and with myself.  I had been thin my hole life until I graduated from High school. When I graduated at the age of 18 I weighted 160 lbs at the height of 5'10''.  Before I had my daughter at the age of 23 I weighted 220 lbs.  So in 5 years I put on 60 lbs in case no one wants to do the math  After I had my daughter I gained an addtional 60 lbs weighing a wooping 280 lbs.  I went on the Atkins diet and lost 44 lbs in 4 months puting me at 236 lbs.  When my daughter turned 7 months I started college full time and worked part time with no help from family members or her father.  By the time I graduated 5 years later I weighted 308 lbs.  I desided that with some medical problems and my family history I got Gastro bypass.  I lost 89 lbs in 1yr.  I went down to 188 lbs.  I started to gain some weight back and the doctor said it is normal to gain 10% of what you lost back.  On my last doctors visit I weighted 203 lbs and they told me that I'm not to gain any more weight and put me on a 1200 calorie diet.  I told them I didn't excercise and that is why they told me 1200 calories a day.  They said my meals should be in between 300-400 cals and snack, if a must, have to be no more than 200 cals.  I went on the diet on Feb 23, 2009 and on Monday April 20th I weighted 187.9 lbs.  I lost 16 lbs in 2 months with working out from 30-90 minutes a day.  Now I think that those weight charts are a joke.  Those charts say that I'm currently over weight and need to weight 175-173 lbs.  At this time I have bones sticking out everywhere and people keep telling me not to lose any more weight because I'm starting to look sick.  I would like to get down to 175 lbs so I can go to the doctor's and show them that their charts are wrong.  I know that those charts are for the average individual but some charts have body frame size in them.  I would say My frame is large.  My ring size is an 8 1/2.  When I was 308 lbs my ring size was 10 1/2.  Well needless to say even though I had surgery I still have weight issues.  Gastro bypass is a weight loss tool not a solution.  I did not take the easy way out either.  If you new everything you have to go threw after the surgery and for the rest of your life you would think that either.  Anyways I wanted to joing this group so I can lose 12 more lbs and keep it off.

You can do it for sure! As long as you aren't feeling sick and depriving yourself of nutrition I think you are fine. Hang in there!

Thanks it really means alot to read that.  I don't feel sick but I do feel hunger pains that are strong.  Their not painful but anoying.  I read about some fruits and vegitables being negitive calories due to that fact your body burns more calories to digest them then what they are actually worth.  Did you hear anything like that and if you did is it true?

I think you should eat when you are hungry, but eat sensibly. I also think you should be eating more than 1200 cals...your height and stature probably need more calories to sustain itself. HOWEVER! When I first started my 1200 cal diet I was starving!!!  I stuck with it and now I find that I'm force feeding myself so that I don't get weak and I can work out. It really is a frustrating process, but also a rewarding journey. As long as you are burning 500 more than you are eating a day, you will lose weight.  Just keep up your activity level and eat when you need fuel.

As for the fruits and veggies...I have never heard that, but I will look into it and get back to you. A good friend of mine has been coaching me along with my workouts and eating habits...I will ask him. He's a wrestling coach and knows all about nutrition and the like.

Do what makes you happy!

about the fruits and vegatables, I have heard the same thing. Some of these include, spinach, brocolli, carrots, cabbage, asparagus, and strawberries. There are more, but these are the only ones I remember, because they are the ones I like.

There are also foods that help burn fat, such as, chicken, oats, tuna, salmon, green tea, and allbran.

Hope this helps!!
