Ok, i've been on a lifestyle change for a while...especially the last month-on most weekdays i walk about 30 min otherwise I will do floor exercises, ball exercises and weight lifting....its been going well...slow weight loss though...I mean i can see it in the way my clothes fit and the comments my husband makes :-)

Last week my son and then I had the flu-so about 7 days without any working out-I lost 2 1/2 pounds.  And now we decided to go home for Thanksgiving-I need to keep that weight off and lose a bit more-at least look good-without going into starvation mode-or gain back the weight i had lost while sick...what to do?  Anybody who lost successfully could tell me that?

I've lost 41 pounds over the past 5 months and I am still in the process of losing.  I think the best advice I can give you is to keep doing what you are doing--exercising definitely helps!  And, eat balanced meals, at each meal make sure you have water, vegetables, grain, protein and fruit; and eat to comfortable satisfaction.  Snacking if you are hungry can also sometimes help to boost metabolism and keep 'overeating' at the next meal at bay :)  I find eating enough calories actually allows me to lose more weight than low calorie dieting, and I am not alone in that discovery.  I would recommend that you don't worry or focus on losing weight as much as eating to nourish your body with high quality foods.  If you eat well, you'll find that even if you make poor choices during the holidays and gain a pound or two it will come off again quickly as soon as you return to eating properly.  And drinking water (6-12 cups/day), eating balanced and nourishing food will help you reach your goal of weight loss because when the body is not experiencing caloric or nutritional starvation it will shed the excess pounds!
FYI - you will pry gain back the weight you lost while you were sick.  But its ok...just stay with what your doing and your healthy lifestyle will make you look good :)

Walk longer or move on to a more challenging type of cardio.  If you already aren't, I would join a gym that has various cardio machines and weights.  It's a lot easier to stay focused when you are stuck paying for a gym contract.
Thank you for ur replies...yeah, i know i'm gonna gain that back....i'm already trying to tame my virocious appetite today after a long time of no appetite....i guess that i just gotta work harder and quality food...if i look good, fine, but if i dont...oh well.
