is there such thing as permanent fat?

What I understood is that fat cells never disappear, but go  "empty". That is why you gain back your weight so easy. So in my view, yes, there is permanent fat. Technically.

Permanent fat...what a horrid thought!  I don't know if fat is permanent, but I do know that loose, deflated (or de-fatted?) skin sure is.  I hate that!  Oh well, I guess loose, deflated skin is better than flabby, fat-filled skin.
