This... sucks... hard
so, After a month and a half of no period, I finally got it, and it does make a lot of sense as to why i've been feeling bingy (even though, technichally, the calorie levels I'm taking in aren't 'binge' level, according to people here)
Thing is, I've been feeling really, well, binge-y lately. Today I've had about 686 calories so far today (at 2:40 pm), and I'm scared of just losing it and eating wayy too much more. I'm getting anxiety attacks at the thought of breaking 1,000 (even though I've been doing it for about 2 months now). Why is my Period making me this anxious and hungry? Is there a way to just, knock it off?

1,500-1,800 calories a day, approximately.
Your period affects your hormones, and your hormones affect your emotions(where else do you think pms comes from?) You know what you need to do to stay healthy, and you know why you're feeling out-of-kilter right now, so you need to engage your mental override and just do it. Don't use your hormones as an excuse for self-harming behaviour
And btw, I'm sure you know that 1000 calories isn't nearly enough for good health. If you over-restrict, you're GOING to binge eventually because your body is screaming 'I'M STARVING!' It sounds like your idea of a 'binge' is normal eating.
kajikit is absolutely right. You need about 1200 calories just for living healthy with little activity. You shouldn't eat less than that. (Although a single low day won't hurt, the pattern WILL!)
As far as the bitchy/bingy part of our period... well, a favorite author of mine refered to it as the woman's curse, and for a reason.
My best advise is exercise! The activity gets some of the excess energy out, and counteracts some of the hormones. And it also uses some calories, which balances a small not-so-healthy snack. I crave ice cream during my period, so I have a scoop, and then go biking.
Actually, as a girl under 21, she needs a minimum 1500.
To the three previous posts, I believe the OP already said that she eats between 1500-1800 calories aday. She just feels anxious about going over 1000 right now because of her period.

Crap, it would be nice if I could exercise during my period. I mean I'm lazy as it is when I'm not on it, but I push myself to some extent. This week during it I'm lucky to get an hour in or I've been skipping. Haha. Periods just hurt, make me feel icky and totally exhausted. :/
