and most of it comes from my 3 cups of milk

should I reduce my sugar intake?

and is the refined sugar the same as the sugar in milk?

The benchmark is 50g per day.  In that light 82g isn't too bad if most of it is coming from dairy products or other natural sources.

my sugar intake is mostly always above 50g but it all comes from natural sources such as fruit and veggies. I make sure I don't go over 50g of 'added sugar' a day

I'm interested in this too.  I always have high carb/sugar ratios from eating fruit, but shouldn't that be different than if I were getting it from coke and candy?  (mmmmmm, mangos on the brain right now)

What passes for diet food often has extra sugar added to make it more palatable.  I'd say: take out the "light" ice cream.  No-one ever lost weight or gained in health by eating that.  Also, if you really want to cut down the sugar, scrub the vegetable and fruit juices and just eat more vegetables and fruits.

As for your the sugar in your milk (milk & cream?), you must be drinking, what, 750 ml a day?  I guess that's a dietary thing, so I won't comment, but if you're looking for calcium and roughly equal calories, about 100g of, say, parmesan will do the trick, for 38g less sugar per day. :)

Ciao.

Ciao.

the light "ice cream" is actually yogurt :)

I wish I could change the vegetable and fruit juice but I have limited or no time to prepare those

Yes, the milk is for calcium and I'll stick with it than eat parmesan

thanks for the alternative though

I'll use it when I forget to buy milk
