Suggestions for new Workout DVD
Hi, people!
I really enjoy working out to a workout DVD because it is convenient for me to workout at home while my babies are still asleep in the morning. I only own a handful of DVDs and the latest one's I've done are Turbo Jam (5 different workouts) and Shred (still can only do Level 1). I really had a lot of fun with Turbo Jam but I did that 5 times a week for the last 5 or 6 months so it's not so fun anymore. Shred is good but not as "fun" and I'm looking for something that's not going to murder me, but still effective enough that I actually feel like I've accomplished something. I've recently hit the maintenance stage and I really need some new DVDs that I enjoy like I did Turbo Jam.
I've been thinking about the Biggest loser workout dvds, people seem to like those, but is there a particular one that is more fun than the others?
Any other workout DVDs that people enjoy? I can't do the dance ones either, I'm horrible at following those moves...:(
This may not be helpful, but I enjoy working out on my Wii. I get so bored of the DVDs but the Wii "game My Fitness Coach has been really beneficial to me.
It's somewhat like DVDs because you can do it in front of the TV whenever you want, but it's different because it's like having a whole bunch of different DVDs.
I've been using mine for a couple of months and it seems like every time I play there is a new exercise. They also switch things up all the time and you can choose a different focus for each workout.
im also looking for a new WO DVD. i like 30 day, i do levels 1+2 but im bored too!
i want 1 thats short, i like the 20 min stregnth+cardio idea.
suggestions please?? thanks!
I really like Jillian Michaels 30 day shred!! Its 20 minutes and it has 3 different levels to work up to.
I've been curious, how effective is are the Wii fitness games compared to other workout dvds?
I like the 20 minute workouts too. There's less of an excuse not to fit them in. But my little arms are so weak, even though I've worked on them with weights, I can't hardly do level 2 of Shred because so much is in the plank position.

Well with the one I mentioned, I think it's awesome. I can choose the length of the workout (15 minutes to 1.5 hours), and what to focus on (upper, lower, core, cardio, yoga). It tests me after a certain number of sessions to see if my fitness level has improved. Although I must admit the test is pretty basic.
It also asks several times during each session if things are too hard, or not hard enough. It then adjusts accordingly -- or I can pause the workout and change the intensity if I want.
The music is somewhat bland, but there are several types to choose from, and you can also choose the "workout area" so that the background looks different.
I can tell you that according to my heart rate monitor a 1-hour cardio type session will burn about 400-500 calories. Yesterday I did an our off flexibility training and it was about 350 calories. But of course the first 5-10 minutes is always a good cardio warm-up.
THat sounds awesome. I think i'll be unable to buy a wii until next tax season
but I really think I will.
Im using JM 30 day now, im wondering if there are any other 20ish min full body workouts?
thanks!

Try modifying the plank, until you build your strength. The purpose of the 20 min wrkouts are made for people on time contraints, and/or no gym and/or little self motivation and/or new to working out...the purpose of the 3 levels is that the thought is as you progress, you need to up the intensity of the circuit [which also helps eliminate the boredom]. The fact that you are having a hard time holding the plank is a GOOD thing..should make you want to work for it!!! ;)
Anyway, I also believe Cathe Friedrich has some awesome dvd's out...including a collection of 10 of them that you can view on below link.

FITNESSGIRL-hi, i have yet to try level 3 of the 30 Day bc level 2 still kills me. i still cant do many full push ups so instead of the modified 1s i used to do, im trying the regualr push up and seeing how low to the ground i can go, hopefully working my way up+getting stronger. i use 5+8 lb weights for diff parts of the WO. the 2nd level is still really hard but im getting bored+would like something else to at least switch back+forth btwn.
Does Cathe Friedrich have 20 min WOs? is it stregnth+cardio as well?
thanks!
im looking at the cathe site and its a 60 min WO broken into 3 segments. im looking at the hardocre series: cardio max dvd.
idk that it would be a full WO if i did 1 segment a day. the reason i enjoy the 30 Day is bc i get the cardio+stregnth all in the 20 mins. would that be the result of a 20 min segment?
Biggest loser cardio max
Biggest loser power sculpt
Jeanette Jenkins 21 day
Billy Blanks Booth camp basic training
The Firm dance cardio
and you can get these on amazon, ive tried all and they are fun ( atleast for me) and they really work
My husband and I found a workout video that can be download if you like. Its called P90X and it have tons of different videos to work out different parts of your body and then some.
Hi fitness girl. I was wondering if you could advise me on why I'm still only using 3 lbs weights and it still feels like I'm going to die doing some of the strength moves, I've been doing level 1 for 4-5 days a week for the past month and previously I was doing Turbo Sculpt with the same 3 lb. handweights. I'll admit I don't even own any 5 lb weights but I intended to buy them when I got to that step. My legs have adapted fine, but why is it my arms seem to stay the same?
Has anyone used UTUBE to download a WO?
ive never used it b4 for anything and wonder if its possible to get complete WOs, maybe Cathe Friedrich?
EROBLEDO-u download the WO online to ur comp? what site?
I really like the slim n 6 workout set, has lots of different levels and also specific workouts for abs and stretching. I also like jackie warners dvd workout, 2 different 20 min workouts for abs, arms and legs. It gets the job done without a lot of dancing around.
FIRE-so what, if any, cardio do u do?
thanks
I love Power Yoga with Brian Kest. It's not one of those tacky fitness videos, which I love, and he's just a friendly sexy hippie. But it is pretty intense. I'm very out of shape, but I still do the 1st video (there are 3).
id say im moderately in shape, lol, if that helps
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
