Suggestions for using lentils, couscous and chai tea spice, please?
A bag of lentils, couscous, and chai tea spice. Are the first two healthy? Anyone know any healthy, yummy way to prepare them?
And the chai tea spice- i was really excited to get it until i got it home and realized i didn't know what to do with it. Maybe add it to a smoothie or a sugar cookie recipie? Any good ideas?
Thanks in advance!

couscous is considered a pasta, so you should go light on it, but I love it. Find a good tabouli recipe and it makes a great summer side dish!
make tea with the chai tea! its also very good iced if your into that.
brew the tea for like 5 minutes and then sweeten with plently of honey or brown sugar and milk.
i bet it would be good in a cookie or spice cake too though, ive never had that.

Did you get whole-wheat couscous? I think regular couscous is the same as white rice or plain old pasta. I usually make couscous salad with a touch of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, tomato, green onion, zucchini, onions and some chickpeas.
fallingstars, I thought couscous is made from semolina. I have never heard of a variety made from wheat. Wouldn't that make it not couscous anymore?
Yeah, i got whole wheat couscous... and the chai spice is powdered in a little bottle- can you brew tea from that?
I don't have any suggestions, but I really do want to learn to cook lentils in something yummy. How do you cook them so they don't turn out slimmy? I can't cook for beans...I mean...I can't cook beans! :D
