Summer 2008 Bikini body Group -- Group closed, sorry

Quote  |  Reply
I fell off the wagon for a good three months and I have gained some weight. I am motivated to form or join a group so we can support each other to lose those extra pounds.

my plan is

1- weigh-in each Monday.

2- We will announce a winner each week. Whoever will earn the highest score.

3- Every day, you have 10 points total of 70 by the end of the week. 5 points if you stick to your healthy eating plan, the other 5 points if you managed to complete your workout.

3- post your stats and goals.

4- we will start tomorrow Jan 28, 2008. please post your stats either today or tomorrow.

5- we will follow CC guidelines so the challenge will be moving to the GAMES section.

6- we will end the challenge on May 1st. Hopefully by that time, everyone will be ready for a NEW BIKINI:)

Hope to hear from you soon. Good luck.

Hi petite_chicago,

Same for me -- I haven't been exercising, but I'm reaching my food intake goals.  But then again, I only committed to exercising 4 X per week, so I could still come out with a good score!

Sakhmet

hey, guys

I've been going to the gym everyday these last two weeks so I hope I can keep that up. I'm doing well on my food intake as well so I feel I'm off to a good start.

Good luck to everyone!
Hi guys,

Sounds like people are doing well!  I've been doing great with exercise, but eating well is always a lot harder for me because of my inclination to binge.  I've also been having a lot of stomach problems and am trying to eat mostly liquids until the doctor can see me in a few weeks so eating is kind of weird right now to say the least.

I think for incentive I'm going to start taking pictures in my old bikini each week so that I can see the visual improvements when they happen.  I'm looking forward to bikini shopping sometime in April or May!
I had thought of the bikini "picture of the week". How about we do this every Monday? :)
How is everybody doing so far? can't wait to see who will be the winner this week?:)

petite_chicago: what do you mean?

It's weird, I'm actually the opposite of a lot of you guys. I have no problem getting to the gym, and am able to make time for an hour of cardio almost every day, but eating... that's where I get tripped up. I just love food, especially really bad food, so much! And as soon as I'm stressed it all goes to hell in a handbasket. But I went grocery shopping after joining this challenge and bought all SUPER healthy stuff, so... so far, I've been doing awesome!

Funny, though, that I joined this group and I don't even have a bikini. I haven't worn a bikini since I was about 11. Oh well, can someone say excuse for a shopping trip??

P.S. I can't believe how motivating this group is, though! Every time I feel like slacking off or eating junk I think about how I won't get my 10 points for the day... I guess I just needed a little friendly competition to kick my butt!

Hi Emily!

I am glad the group keeps you motivated.

It's funny how we always envy the other, isn't it? :)  If you feel like it, we can trade: you give me an exercise to do a day, and I give you a healthy recipe (I am French after all ;))

Safina, I meant that we could take a picture of ourselves in our bikini once a week and post it (or every other week to be able to see better results :D). I know it is a bit childish, but "I'll do it if you do it" challenges usually help me keep on track.

Also, how about we introduce ourselves now that we're all partners? :)

I am 31, French, currently living in France.  I have spent 7 years in the States (near Chicago, hence the nickname).  I have also lived a year in Germany, one in Denmark and some time in Sweden. I am planning on moving to London soon.

I am really short (5'1) and curvy (typical hourglass figure). I usually manage to stay in the normal weigh range, but I am not particularly fit. My biggest problem is cardio training.

Hope everyone has a good and healthy day!

hello petite_chicago: sure why not? it is a good idea to post pictures.. just  to keep us motivated.

I am 33, I live in NY. Being on CC has helped me to lose weight for the first time in my life. I started this challenge after I fell off the wagon for three months and I really want to be fit and healthy again. Can't wait to buy a bikini :)
Okaay, I've been doing my best to eat healthy and work out every day..no I didn't buy my bikini yet..haha.
Good morning!

I'm 28 and live in southern california, about 20 minutes away from LA.  I'm in the healthy range for my weight and I tend to stay there even when I binge (my huge problem).  I just don't happen to like the particular weight my body chooses. :-P

I love exercise and run between 25-35 miles per week.  I try to do weights 2-3 times per week and abs 3-4 times.  I also usually do some walking and some time on the elliptical.  My exercise is good, but my eating is driving me nuts!

It's nice to meet all of you.  This is such good incentive to work on problem areas!
hey,

I'm 17 and live in Michigan. I am over weight right now, but super motivated. I am a junior in high school and really want to spend my last year of high school healthy and wearing all the cute clothes I never could.

I love to go to the gym. Before it always seemed intimidating, but now I'm addicted and go everyday. I won't be posting a bikini picture until the very end, because I have a long way to go yet.

Hi all

It is nice to hear a bit about everyone :)

Safina: OK for the pic on Monday then :)

Well, I am off to Paris for the week end, so I know that a. I will get all the cardio I need (Paris' subway system has hundreds of steps. THAT is the secret to French  fitness ;)), and b. I will probably loose all my diet points :D

Have a great week end and see you on Monday!

Hi everyone,

A little about me... I'm 31, living in Michigan and (158) "moderately overweight" sounds bad but that's down from "obese" just a year ago. I'm making slow progress but this will be the year I proudly wear a bikini.

I'm not confident enough to post a bikini pic, yet. But, I have bought one and it's on a hanger in my exercise room. I have been doing pretty great with exercising so far. I do 30-60 minutes of cardio everyday and 30 minutes of weights(alternating muscle groups). Since I live in Michigan it's not always easy to travel to the gym when a big snow storm hits. So, I got an elliptical trainer and some free weights for home. I'm taking on a no excuses approach this year. If I can't make it to the gym - I must exercise at home. Unfortunately, I think I've already lost the diet part because I'm an emotional eater and I let stress get the best of me this past Wednesday.

Have a great weekend everyone and I can't wait to find out who wins on Monday!

Ooh!  This is totally off the topic of bikinis, but I noticed that a few Michigan people are here.  My husband and I are flying out to Michigan the last weekend in February (I've never been there, he lived there a few years and we'll probably move out there in 3-4 years.)  Anyway, how cold is it there and what kinds of clothes should I bring?  Remember, I'm coming from southern California where cold means it dropped below 60 degrees. :-)  Any help would be appreciated.

Hope that everyone is enjoying their Friday!
irothell- are you moving to the UP or LP? I'm from the UP and yeah it gets cold. really cold sometimes lol Bring jeans and hoddies, sweaters, hats, mittens. Coming from South California the cold will feel even colder to you so layer up. I wish I could switch you places and be in the Califonia sun.  :)

I'll start off the weigh-in...

Last week: 126.4

Today: 125.6

I met all of my food goals (avg of 1358 cals / day), so I think I deserve all 35 points for that part.

I only exercised 2 days out of my goal of 4 last week -- and I'm still sore. I'm giving myself 17 points for exercise.

Grand total: 52 points

weigh-in this am 137.2  start weight 139

I ate within my guidelines though somewhat under for 35 points and I went to the gym each day (including weekend thanks to this weigh in and group on my mind).

total 70 points  and I ordered a victoria secret bikini from ebay on the weekend. I know our goal date is May 1 but I have to be in one on March 27 when we go to Cuba; I cannot afford any slip-ups, lol

Good job to those who worked hard this past week!

Weigh-in this morning - 160.0 I friggin gained weight even though I worked out 6/7 days. So that's 30 points. As far as diet - I fell off the wagon two days so that's only 25 points. Totalling 55 for the week. I may have gained but I look more toned and I feel great for working as much as I did.

I weighted in at 159.5 this morning.  It’s a bit up since last Tuesday (I missed last Monday), but I’m still feeling pretty good.  My aim was less than 1400 calories each day, and I only slipped up on two days, so 25 point there.  As for working out, I also missed two days.  Leaving me with a grand total of 50 points.

I’m not happy about it, but now I’ve ever more motivated about the up coming week.  I’m eager to improve my score!
All I can say is that I'm glad that this is the first week!  My exercise was fantastic last week but my eating was awful.  And my weight is way up.  I'm taking my measurements every Monday along with my weigh in.  I'm also having my hubby take bikini pictures *shudder*.  I'll post that tonight.

Weight: 135 (rounded up a couple ounces)

Eating points: 15

Exercise points: 35

Whatever extra we get for drinking 2-3 liters of water: 6 days

Extra for early exercise: 5 days
