My weekend motivation has been the opening of a brand new gym less than 2 km away. I live in a small community of under 6000 and this gym is state of the art and I was sooo excited to go today and sign up.
We have a separate spinning room, aerobics room ,nautilus, free weights and precor weight machines, treadmills, elliptical, etc etc. Not to mention...........the separate (closed door room) for the heavy lifters (not that you're not loved fellas-but sometimes you're kinda loud and boisterous). The space is new as well as every piece of equipment; I feel so privileged and can't wait to get back there tomorrow. I may even go for the 5:30 opening right before the monday morning weigh in, lol.
Ugh, I didn't do so well last week. Saturday night was a BIG birthday party for 8 friends, including my husband - we rented out a private room at a club for 6 hours! Open bar! As you might imagine, I exceeded my 1350 goal on Sat. in ways I can't (and won't) calculate. But I did very well every other day of the week, including having dinner at a restaurant but staying within my cal limit!
orcasinger - your new gym sounds fantastic... I'm jealous! My workout, when it happens, consists of jogging in place forever, lifting free weights, and going for long walks! I'm looking forward to staying in a hotel this weekend - their gym has machines with individual tvs! I expect to reach my exercise goals this week (week 3).
Points last week: 47 :(
Starting weight (Jan 28): 126.4
Last week: 125.6
Today: 125.0
(The worst part is that I weighed 124 all last week, and now I've suddenly jumped back up to 125. Oh well, it's still a net loss.)
I'm curious to hear how everyone else did --
Height: 5'10''
SW: 255lbs
CW: 224lbs
GW: 160lbs
I know FAT ASS HU?! I definitely worked hard to get this fat, and I am definitely working harder to get rid of it! On a normal week, I jog 10km a day, and 50km a week. Leaving 2 days to rest my knees. Is that to much? I know I kick my own ass to get out there everyday, but half way through it, and afterwards I FEEL AMAZING!
I wanna play!
Happy Monday everyone!
Here are my stats for last week:
30 points for exercising and 30 for eating. I had one bad day for the week. Totalling 60 for this week. So, I'm at 115 points in this challenge.
SW: 158
Last week: 160
CW: 157
I'm off to a pretty slow start but I'm sure I'll gain momentum in a couple weeks.
SW: 130
CW: 128 (same as last week)
GW: 115
Exercise: 3 days at 5 points, 2 days at 3 points: 21 points (ouch!)
Food: 3 days at 5 points, 2 at 4 and 2 at 3: 29 points
total: 50 points... getting there (slowly)
I am thinking about posting measurements on top of weigh, since I want to loose volume (tone up) rather than weigh. What do you think?
Hi petite_chicago,
If you want my opinion, I think it's totally fine for you to post your measurements too. It seems like everyone has a different way of charting their progress - and allocating points. So if it's more helpful for you to assess and share your progress via measurements, by all means do so!
At this point, I view this thread not so much like a game or competition, but as discrete challenges that we self-assess based on our specific situations. For example, if I eat over my declared limit of 1350 cals, I'm giving myself 0 eating points for the day. But I see you've used a different standard. On the other hand, I'm compiling exercise stats based on my goal of exercising 4 times per week (so if I exercise only 2 days I get 17 points), but I see that others are striving for a full seven day exercise regimen. Apples and oranges, in my opinion, but still a good motivator. Does this make sense?
I did well last week but did terrible on Sat and Sunday as usual. I am a bit upset about this. workout and diet was great during the whole week. don't know my current weight yet but I am sure it will be high because of the bad eating on the weekend.
I was happy with the week over all. This week I'd like to have 5-6 good eating days where I get the full 5 points.
Today's weight: 131.4 (down 3.6 lbs)
Goal weight: 120
Food points: 22 (4 good days and one where I messed up then caught myself)
Exercise points: 35
safina: Good job on your week! Don't let the weekend discourage you, you got 5 out of 7 days and that's great!
Total: 57
I made it to the gym every day but Wednesday and Friday, so minus 10 for those.
so 60 total.
i'm still at 159 though...
Long and short of it is, by having to report to someone I have found myself making small improvements that seem to be helping.
Last week: 159.5 lbs
This week: 157 lbs :)
I'm with pinkjane. I don't even want to try and figure out my points this week. I'm down to 173 from my original weigh-in at 178. I didn't weigh-in last week ![]()
I did go to the gym today! Props for that.
OOps forgot about posting yesterday.
Start weight 139
Last weigh-in :137.2
Current weight: 135.2
Eating points =35, missed one work-out day = 30 Total 65
I am so proud of you too poly! Congrats :D
Thanks Sakhmet and Ingrid for the encouragement. I will start measuring today :D
Orcasinger: is that your swimsuit? I love it!
Sigh. Sorry for the late weigh-in, not a stellar week for me (emotional issues= major junk food consumption)
Starting weight= 145
1st Weigh-In= 142.6
2nd Weigh-In= 142
So, I mean, I lost a little. But mostly because I've been working out like a fiend to try and counteract all the eating I've been doing. I still feel pretty bloated and uncomfortable though. Points, let's see.. 30 for exercise, 20 for food. Like I said, bad week. Putting it behind me though, and did well yesterday and already worked out today :)
(By the way, for the points, are we counting from last Monday to this Sunday? That's how I've been splitting it up.)
