Original Post by demila1983:
"Kung Fu Panda" - horrible. Not like all the other Pixar movies. My 4 year old and I were both ready to leave the theater half way through.
Kung Fu Panda isn't Pixar. :)
WALL-E, however, is. :)
I have to disagree with nomo
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull ** (Disappointment in comparison to Indy's best)
Get Smart was actually better than I had anticipated. Didn't hurt that The Rock was in it...that adds a star in and of itsef. It was really funny though. I think I actually enjoyed it more than...
Indiana Jones. Disappointment. His older movies were much better. I like Shia LeBouf (however you spell it); I think he will go places as an actor. But the movie was WAY past unbelievable...and just kind of blah.
Haven't seen Wall-E...but hear the majority say it is not anywhere near the Pixar/Disney standard set by previous movies.
I wanna' see Hancock.
***** Wall-E
Good, but not great. It was definitely entertaining and amusing, but the plot made some wild leaps (even for a superhero movie!). I felt like it had the potential to be better than it was.
That said, I'd still recommend it as an entertaining summer movie. :)
***1/2 Hancock -- Fun, but not the best Will Smith summer Blockbuster
*** Get Smart -- I enjoyed it, although it was not a true depiction of the TV show
*** Wall-E -- Brilliantly done, but slow in oh so many spot
***1/2 Wanted -- none stop action, so much better than the Matrix movies (to which it has been compared)
1/2 The Happening (God, what a disappointment!)
**1/2 Indiana Jones -- Fun but way off the believability scale, even for an Indy Jones movie)
** Kung-Fu Panda -- I'm presuming it is mostly because I don't like Jack Black)
**1/2 Sex and the City -- Never watched the show, movie wasn't terrible
**** Ironman -- My Favorite, thus far
**1/2 Incredible Hulk -- not terrible
*1/2 You Don't Mess With the Zohan -- not good ![]()
Interesting that no one has admitted to seeing "The Love Guru" ....
The Love Guru left before I got to see it -- I was planning to.
I used to rilly rilly <3 Mike Myers.
But I assume its quick departure means that it wasn't that great.
Tonight I'm going to see Wanted.
And is that Dwight Shrute in The Rocker? Looks stupid, but if Dwight Shrute is in it... might go see it after all.
And why did they have to cast Kevin Costner (
) in Swing Vote? Why couldn't it have been Tim Robbins (
)???
Kung-fu Panda *****!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!
EDIT: Just saw Dark Knight. TWO THUMBS WAY WAY UP! It was amazing!
*agrees with dove*
I actually went to see Kung Fu Panda again (and i almost never do that!)
***** The Dark Knight - met/exceeded all my expectations. Great movie. Heath Ledger was amazing! Go see it!
***1/2 Hancock -- Not exactly what I was expecting, but good none-the-less.
*** Get Smart -- I enjoyed it, but it wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be.
***1/2 Wanted -- I enjoyed the action, but the plot was thin. Worth renting.
** Indiana Jones -- I had a hard time sitting through this movie and I like the old ones. Maybe I wasn't in the mood at the time?
****1/2 Ironman -- I loved this movie. What's his face did a fantastic job at playing Tony Stark.
*** Incredible Hulk -- I'm a huge fan of Edward Norton, so he saved this movie for me. I liked it, but not enough to see it twice.
***** The Dark Knight (Batman) - It was so good, that I'm considering going to spend the money and see it in the theaters again.
I think I've seen others. I can't keep track of all the movies we go and see. Which is kind of sad. lol.
what happens in vegas: hysterical!!!
Dark Knight: Awesome, the rest of my night was so horrible that it kind of overshadowed the movie (1:30 am imax movie, car got towed, = me stranded at 5 am) I think I liked the first one a little better, but again the rest of my "knight" kind of stunk
Just heard that Christian bale is going to play Robin Hood in a movied called Nottingham (also staring russell crowe) can't wait for that!
Haven't seen much this summer, but here is my input:
** Hancock. It started off OK but then disintegrated about halfway through. Good action/special effects etc. but stupid storyline. It could have been much better.
*** Indiana Jones. It was entertaining enough but the original ones were MUCH better!
* Mamma Mia! This was embarrassing to watch. Musicals are much better left to stage.
**** Wanted - All was good but the some parts of the plot seemed a little lame.
*** Indiana Jones. Enjoyed the start & middle but not so keen on the ending.
Sorry, slightly off topic but has anyone seen 'Teeth'?
I haven't seen it, just wondered what others made of it.
