Summer time, and the living is. . .
too hot!!!! ![]()
I received a message today from a member discussing the weather. As someone who used to prefer to walk/jog/run outside in the morning, I have some suggestions.
I have found that exercising outdoors is better at sunset. Reid park has a lot of friendly people and the occasional cop-in-a-golfcart doing the rounds around the 5k track. The breeze feels cooler to me. I also take a wet rag or bandana to sponge off with. This can be refreshed at the fountains on the corners.
Currently (and likely through June) it's very dry. Remember to keep hydrated, sunscreened and dressed "smartly". I saw an overweight young woman the other day with a sauna jacket on. ![]()
While it's this dry, if you are a swamp cooler victim user, try exercising at home with the damp air and a fan.
I'm also making short and frequent trips on the bike, free air conditioning!
Anyone else have suggestions?
