219 to 222 since Sunday

Quote  |  Reply

I know I'm probably freaking out for nothing, but on Sunday I was down to 219 an ever since Monday night I've been going back and forth between 222 and 220. Someone please assure me this isn't actually FAT weight! I know I'm about to start my period but I hardly ever see a weight gain right beforehand now so I can't convince myself that that's why I'm fluctuating. What's going onnn!!

Please don't weigh yourself every day for precisely this reason.  Your body-weight is not just influenced by fat and menstruation but also by a lot of other factors, including how well hydrated you are and how much fluid you're retaining.   Drink plenty of plain fluids (not too much caffeine or alcohol), eat wholesome foods (not too much salt or sugar) and stay off the scales until next Sunday.  Then you'll see the true picture.  Good luck

I just sent a thread exactly like yours regarding this morning.  Same thing.  I was SO MAD.  I think gi-jane has the correct idea but it is part of my morning routine to weigh myself and to motivate my eating habits and exercise, too.

Normally I wouldn't be so uptight about it but I lose about 5 pounds each month so I'm supposed to be at 218 by Nov. 6th. To go from 219 and be ONE POUND away to fluctuating between 222 and 220 is just killing me especially knowing I have like a week left!

I will take GI-Jane's advice though and I'll update with results next Sunday! Hopefully they're what I want to see :/

I just got home from the gym last friday i was 228, i started at 234. tonight i was 229. however, I have been doing weights running cardio kickboxing and walking every night so i know this is muscle.

you should be discouraged. your body is changing and being put through a lot of stress. You shouldn't expect to lose 5 pounds every month. Instead be happy you are losing no matter what the number.

Stay off the scale.  Better yet, give it to a friend and have them keep it for 30 days.  Then weigh yourself.  You'll find it more rewarding.

Look at the stress you caused yourself because of a scale. Don't misplace your focus on what you really want.

You'll accomplish your goals.

...and please don't get a hip tattoo...
