10-20 pounds support group!

Hello everyone! I've been having a lot of trouble getting back on track with my diet... and I thought losing weight with others would be a lot of help. With this group, I'm hoping that we can all motivate each other!!

First off, I think it's really important to have a good goal, so everyone should post one. Our goal date shall be November 30, so there's lots of time. Everyone should try and weigh in on Sunday mornings (whenever you wake up). Please, if you wish to join, tell us a bit about yourself; name, age, height, current weight, goal weight, starting weight if you've been dieting, your calorie intake, diet in general, interests, and anything else so we can get to know each other!

Now, to introduce myself; My name is Sylvie and I'm 16 and 5' 7". My dieting really started 2 years ago; after coming back from a vacation, I weighed in at about 150 pounds. That finally made me desperate to lose weight; thus, I started exercising a bit more and eating very healthily. I got down to 130 in 7 months. Over this summer, I walked sooo much and also started biking; my all-time low was 123. My current weight is 125. My goal weight is 115. I've been trying to east about 1200-1400 calories a day. My diet is a lot of fruit, veggies, and whole-wheats. I recentely became a vegetarian. My average meals are: fiber one cereal w/ blueberries and soymilk for breakfast, fruit or crackers for a pre-lunch snack, a salad/some other veggie dish with fruit and a Fuze slenderize (these amazing fruit drinks; 20 calories per bottle!), fruit with no-fat whip cream for my pre-dinner snack, and then something like a whole wheat-low carb- high fiber tortilla with soup and fruit or a salad or tabbouleh (Mid-Eastern salad) with the fruit. Recently I've been drinking this "diet" hot chocolate too; 25 calories in the packet, and I usually use half. I make it with mainly water and some soymilk and whipped cream (the no-fat again). I'm really trying to get off the whipped cream because when I use it I use wayy too much. As for my interests, I love art, computers (Apple!), science, and music. Coldplay is my favorite band.

Good luck to everyone!

hey, sylvie. i'm frasco. i'm new to c-c, but I read your post and thought we share some similarities.

my story: I'm 17, 5'6", and I started dieting way too early. I was a dancer for 9 years, during 4 of which I was pressured to lose weight; I quit when I had succumbed to bulimia as a result of the pressure and lost my passion for dance. Three years later, I'm totally recovered and definitely ready to slim down a little bit, in a healthy way. My current weight is 148 which is definitely on the plump side for my frame. I want to lose 13 pounds by December 1st (or November 30th, 24 hours really makes no difference); 135 is my favorite weight, and I think thats a reasonable goal.

I have a nonstop schedule so to get through the day I need to eat a lot of high fiber, high protein food in small doses at various intervals. My typical day consists of Greek yogurt and fruit in the morning, a sandwich midday, tomatoes, cheese and raisins to nosh on at various intervals, and then whatever delicious meal my family prepares for dinner. I usually end up eating around 1500-1600 calories a day.

What is the name of the hot chocolate you drink? I am a chocoholic and have been looking for ways to keep chocolate in my diet in a healthy way (for my sanity). I sometimes eat chocolate pudding for dessert, with a little non-fat whipped cream.

I totally get what you mean about the whipped cream, but it's so delightful with a little treat, why cut it out?

Hi Frasco! It's nice to meet you! I'm pretty new too; I joined over the summer but this was my first post in the forums.

Congrats on conquering your ed! It definitely must have been a hard battle. Your goal seems great; I'm sure we can motivate each other. :D

It's Swiss Miss Diet Hot Chocolate mix. It isn't really rich, but it is nice considering there's only 25 calories in an envelope! If you're a chocoholic, I also suggest Godiva chocolate pearls. They aren't "diet" per-say, but are a little more than 3 cals per piece and are nice to have around when you really need a chocolate fix. They come in a nice tin container, sort of like minds.

Mm, pudding! I love choco pudding with strawberries. For the whip cream, I've decided to just lower the amount that I eat.

Also, I made a group! I thought it's be a better way to keep organized. Here's the link: http://caloriecount.about.com/november-g312
