200-250 Support Group- Group FULL Now Wish Us Luck :)
Ok,
I see most of every one here are girls not guys, so I think I will stick out this time.
About two years ago I was 5'11'' and 280lb
I am in pharmacy school and every time I stepped into the classroom they were talking about a new disease with the first population on the highest risk patient list is obese and overweight people.
So I got sick of it and I decided to lose it all
It took me about 6 months and I went down to 231 and I was hanging around there for about a year and a half, till the last 2 month I went up again to 249 and I was like NO.
Now my new goal is 210lb by April 27th. My graduation date :)
But when my name will be called, I will not be the fat BLOB walking down the stage. And that’s a promise to myself and who ever wants to join the bandwagon
Who ever is in, put me to your friend list and we shall be in contact through this thread for weights and advances.
I am looking forward to hear from you guys :)
Good luck to all
:)
Hotpotato it looks like you and a "private member" that contacted me on private messeges are the first in the team
I am on even if it&n bsp;is just us three
Tomorrow thursday we start the log
this is just a weight log that i will creat on google docs.
we are not in a competition but we are in support to each other
This is what I did l ast time and i lost 50lbs :
1. Water ( LOTTTTTS OF WATER), it takes water to lose water weight.
2. LOTS of veggies, fiber to keep you regular and complex carbs for energy
3. Avoid Fats as much as possible, ( take omega-3 oil pills)
4. Avoid simple carbs (sugar, white bread, etc.) and take in complex carbs (wheat, etc.)
5. Eat proteins, ( Chicken, lean meats, TUNA, etc..)
6. Reduce Salts, and you will lose all the water weight hanging around your body
7. Don't starve yourself or your body will break down muscles and keep the fat.
8. your calorie intake should not exceed this formula:
Your weight(lb) X 11 = calories per day to keep your weight as is ( for females)
Your weight(lb) X 15 = calories per day to keep your weight as is ( for males)
1 lb=3000 cals
So What you don't eat you burn for your body to get its needs
Co you cut a 750 calories from your diet and burn another 750cals on the treadmil, within two days you lose 1lb of fat.
Another good news, since you are in the begining you will lose pounds easily and then it will eventually get harder.
If you have any additional notes I would love to hear it.
it seems like we are  ;vetrans of the same club but we just have to stick with
Good luck potato and hope fully i will hear good&nb sp;news about the new bab y soon
:)
just let me know how to access the weight log and i'm good to go.

Above is the spread sheet that has the updated weights and BMIs
I am the only one that can edit it sadly but i will update it daily as we go on and you guys post in the topic
Please don't go cold on me
keep trying and posting and we will do it
we start 2/22/2008 as our first day
I have based all the information in the spread sheet from your info that you gave me in your messages/replies
Potato I don't have your hight thats why your BMI would not display as of yet
We would need to try to keep in contact every day, just as a little journal and support and to give updates on weight that would be great.
Don't be ashamed from telling about your bad days, this is why we are here after all.
Again support group, not challenging each other :)
Lets do it team
Please keep both the address for this topic and the link for spread sheet in your favorites
Good Luck to all and talk to you tom. :):)

I started at 319 lbs, I'm down to 241 lbs now. I eat an average of 1829 calories per day via calorie cycling. My schedule looks like this:
Sun: 1800 (30 min intense cardio every other Sunday)
Mon: 2000 + 30 min intense cardio and strength training
Tue: 1400
Wed: 2800 + 60 min intense cardio and strength training
Thu: 1200
Fri: 1500
Sat: 2100 + 30 min intense cardio and strength training
Plus I take a free day every 2 weeks in place of the 2800 cal day. I've been doing this since last June and have lost nearly 80 lbs since. My goal weight is 150 lbs, but I'm willing to take my time.
My advice: Strive for balance, not perfection. Eat wholesome foods most of the time and still allow for some of your favorite things or you will go out of your mind trying to remain perfect. Keep in mind, what you eat in one meal or in one day doesn't matter nearly as much as what you eat over the entire week.
Good luck!
Hey guys,
sorry for the late reply, but I came back late from work and i had people visiting they just left
Today has been a good day, i weighed in and i was 1/2lb lighter
tom. i will try to start going to the YMCA that i have a membership in
I updated all the weights on the chart as they came in.
I addedj3nn and karrene and dabakene
But sadly we are closing the group as of now, no body else shall join, but of-course all can follow the progress and give their insight :)
dan and dakabene i don't have your weights
and j3nn i don't have your hight to calculate your BMI.
Karrene I have not seen this workout before but i heard about an HITT workout which is high intensity treadmill training where you go fast on the treadmil for 3 mins and slow for 3 mins, and that's for your body not adapt to the high speed and slow the burn of fat as a conservation method. but please share.
I would unlternate my weight training from muscle to muscle to give them a day to heal.
It is also medically proven that weight training burns more fat that cardio. thus i would also start weight training next to cardio even if it is light weight.
Happy first day guys,
Mena
Hey, Im in!
46 years old...236 lbs....5 foot 8.... looking to eat about 1200 cal per day. My normal day is rather sedentary and I rely on my elliptical and bit of weight training for an extra burn. Do you need anymore info? Ill also send this to you via message just in case you miss it here. Thanks: Tina
I want in. 6'1 , 234.8 my current goal is 230, which will then be 215 when i hit it.
peace
Shawn
OK Guys,
As of now I am addin g TINA and Shawn to the group and then I  ;will have to close the&n bsp;group
Meaning no one else can join so we can start focusing on the tracking of our progress than just trying to keep adding people. Now I need you guys to try to b e in consistent touch wit h us here and put yo ur input as we go.
As far as today it h as been a good day s o far and I am hopin g to head to the GYM for 1hr
My weight is still the&nb sp;same for today, 245.4lb&nbs p;but i am sure tom.  ;it will be lower
:), and that's what keeps me going :)
Medical Fact for the day:
Don't drink water while y ou are eating, Drink a&nb sp;liter of water 30mins after eating.
- It lowers the acidity of& nbsp;your stomach thus the&nbs p;food will stay undigested in your stomach for longer time. so you will be dragging its weight and emitting toxins into your stomach and intestines.
- Even if you are still&nbs p;hungry after you eat yo ur small portions in the& nbsp;first few days, push  ;yourself and wait 30mins  ;for the food to move to your intestines and then the water will help passing it down and you keep regular and see your weight going down too!! Also eventually you stomach will start going smaller that you can't eat big portions anymore :)
P.S. try to weigh yoursel f in the morning when&nbs p;you wake up and after&n bsp;going to the bathroom,&nbs p;so you won't see your weight go up with just&nb sp;fecal matter and excess&nbs p;water weight.
NOW Please keep posting a nd keep your head up  ;slowly but surely we wil l DO IT :)
and Good Luck to ALL!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK! of course Luck has nothing to do with it. But I am cheering you all on. Hard road but so rewarding. may you all be blessed through this. and don't forget to remember that you are WORTH it.

Hey First Step
I am excited to report that i guessed at my weight when i originally signed on. i actually faced the scale friday and my actual weight is 228lbs - while that is still an obnoxious amount - it is ridiculous how happy those 20lbs made me. so anyway, my starting weight is 228lbs and my height is 5'6".
my goal is to lose 80lbs!!
i will be honest and admit that i'm not the most "active" person in the world. with a full time job and two kids - it seems impossible to find time to work out (living thru a cold ohio winter does not help the lethargic attitude). generally, i have to choose b/w working out and sleeping and sleeping always wins but - for my health - this week my goal is to start a cardio program for at least 3 nights for at least 30 minutes each. We'll progress from there.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me and feel free to nag the bejeezus out of me if i don't get off my fanny and move.....!!!
Dear all,
Sorry for the lag with the update but i have been very busy with everything going on in the hospital for the past week.
As of now so far i have updated the weights on everyone and their BMIs (Body Mass Index) and also i have added TINA and Shawn
Potato: i know that you guessed at your weight, but just as a reminder, i have kept your older starting weight and updated the new one, so congrats to you girl :)
So far you guys are in contact but we are not in contact enough, so lets try to work on that, lets try to make daily but if not every other day contact.
don't go cold on me now :)
I have been getting people to tell me their weight on private messages and here,
Whatever you prefer, but i think when you post here it gets the other team members moving and the thread up for other people from the forum to see it and congratulate you.
Now fact of the day:
We are all shooting for under 30 BMI
30+ is Obese
25-29.9 overweight
18.5-24.9 normal range
below 18.5 underweight
So primary goal is:
Get under BMI of 30
Now congrats to Jan she was able to make it to the gym this weekend, i have been in contact with her on private messages and she seems very nice.
I would recommend adding her as well as every one in the team to your friends list so you can track them and get to know them better.
As far as me as you can see from the chart today in the morning i was up 1/2lb which is driving me nuts, but i guess it is water weight from over the weekend.
But hey i will flip it around.
So in the end my best regards to all and I hope all is fine.
Talk to you later.
Mena
Hey everybody,
Well I have been talking to firststep by private message not realizing that there was this forum. My name is Janice.
Well I hope everyone is doing well on there change in life. I had a rough couple of days, found out some bad news with the family. I wanted to turn to a bad of chips or McDonald's but instead I went to the gym and went for a long drive. So I am proud of myself for not falling for temptation but depressed because I haven't lost any weight. I went on the scale this morning and I am still at 239 lbs. It's going to be a long journey but I am lucky to have a great support group.
