Maintaining

Not sure what this means...

I'm 21 years old, 5'6 1/2" and 133 lbs - happy with it and want to maintain. I'm not sure how many calories I should be eating, however.

Under "My Account," it says my daily goal should be 2200 calories (small-boned, light activity). But if I use the "Calorie Target" tool and choose that I am currently 133 and my goal weight is 133, it tells me to eat 1500 calories a day.

I'm just confused about how to interpret this and which is the correct number of calories. I'd appreciate any help you all can give.... Thank you! :)

As a general, easy rule, you need about 10 calories per pound to maintain your weight.  If you are very active, you could add the amount of calories burned per day to this number.
was128, curious about your source.  I weigh in at 115, so, @ 10 calories per pound that's about 1150; lower than this sites recommendation, the mayoclininc and BMR/RMR.

rubyblue12, when you do calorie target and leave your "goal date" blank it spits out a general calorie guide to lose weight.  If you put in the goal date as the same day your entering info. you will get the same calories as "light activity".  Congratulations on being happy with your goal !!!!

i am 124.2 lbs and 5'1". i do not believe that 10 calories per pound is nearly enough to maintain. i eat 1200 to lose and 1800 to maintian.

oh, and i am lightly active. lots of chores and i run around after two toddlers and one baby every day, but do not exercise.
