Sure! Stop by anytime to drop off junk food and crap at my house!

My mother in law is evil.  Well, maybe.

Truth be told, I like her a lot, I'm just venting.

She has been overweight her whole life.  She had gastric bypass just over a year ago and lost a lot of weight.  She gave me all her clothing as she outgrew it.  She also sent every item of food that we'd ever have at her house home with us 'for the kids'.

Now that I've been losing weight, she hasn't adjusted this and I'm not sure if she just isn't paying attention, or has no idea what she is doing.  I'm thinking since she obviously when through this she KNOWS what it is like having the food around.  That's why she sent it home with me in the first place.  So why torment me?

She called me yesterday to let me know that the ice cream cake we had left in her freezer from our son's birthday was now in our freezer.  She stopped by when we weren't home, went in, and put it in our freezer.  Thanks!  Totally needed that.   OK, ya, it was ours to begin with, LOL!  Still, we had forgotten it there way back in mid-July and she TOTALLY could've just tossed it out.

At least I can't wear her old fat pants anymore.

haha, this made me giggle :)
lol maybe she wants to see if you can fight the urges? haha
Why are mother-in-laws like that? Mine constantly does the same thing to me... like we're poor starving people in need of all the junk that they don't want. She won't accept no, so I take it and chunk most of it.

How is she doing with the bypass?  I always wonder why people don't go into "starvation mode" and stop losing weight when they have this surgery.

I do know of folks who have done really well with this, life changing.

living well is the best revenge!  so smile, say thank you and if you can drop it off to some food pantry.  it'll drive her crazy!!  haha
Erm.

I'd actually appreciate an ice cream cake popping up in my freezer.

dnrothx, where do you live?  I can make that happen.

I think she is doing pretty well with it.  She claims she can't eat ice cream anymore - gives her the runs apparently.  I heard a comment on "big medicine" too from one of the docs about how if the guy they were operating on eats ice cream he'll have diaria from heck.  Sounds to me like enough of a side effect to not do it alone! LOL!  I don't need a whole cake, but to not ever eat ice cream?  That's bad.

You know, I never thought she was "that" fat.  She has a HUGE rear end, but the rest wasn't too bad.  When she lost the weight she got really skinny with this bubble butt.  Then that went mostly away too.  Now though, her butt has gotten a bit bigger again but I don't think she's back to what she was before the surgery.  She has HORRIBLE eating habits though so I don't know.  Anything with the word "diet" or "fat free" or "sugar free" in the title and she can't buy enough of it.  All things that I avoid like the plague.  There's not much she eats that isn't processed.  But hey, she stopped smoking and she is looking better.

You need to get some farm animals. I don't mind any leftovers showing up at my house. Between the dogs, chickens, and pigs, there is always someone really glad to get a special treat, and no guilt on my part for throwing away food! :)
My MIL would love love love to see me blow up to four hundred pounds.

After struggling to lose weight with my daugther (half way there) She always wants to bring us disgusting food...  I think she liked me porky!

Most likely your MIL is insecure (like mine) and doesn't want to see you lookin' hotter than she is (sounds like her butt is going to be hard to beat though!!!j/k) She liked you fat her slim.  Well you just show her sister!  I am empowered when I throw out the plate of butter laden brownies that my MIL gives me... it gives me more motivation.  although when I succumb and eat the entire pan- it is hard to get back on the wagon.  So before you can even think about wanting it- remember- nothing tastes as good as thin feels- then give it the ol' heave ho!!
btw dnrothx- just out of curiosity-  If you are wanting an ice cream cake to show up in your freezer *full of fat, sugar and calories mind you*  Why are you hanging out on calorie count ??

Or, alternatively, she just thinks the cake belongs to DIL so will be returned to DIL. No ulterior motive, no hidden meaning.

And cmama...i'd love a huge chocolate cake to appear in MY fridge overnight. I might even eat some of it too. Just because we joined CC, doesn't mean we can't enjoy the good and naughty once in a while. ;-)

It's funny how family changes your diet.  Like Superman bending a steel bar, you get strong-armed into eating second helpings and big desserts.  Cookies just seem to be lying around, begging to be eaten.
Very true- but I wouldn't make a post trying to tell someone what their feeling is wrong-  just keep it to yourself!  A lot of people when they are dieting don't have the willpower to not eat the entire cake! When you are "counting calories" it tends to add up!!
I can totally relate to you Robyn.  My MIL used to be HUGE but then went on Weight Watchers and lost a ton of weight.  She looks fabulous, and she has a really kind heart, but sometimes I wonder if she is trying to keep me bigger than her.  Whenever we go to stay with her, she always without fail has cookies, chips, ice cream, brownies, and cooks the most fattening food ever.   Of course she doesn't eat any of it, she makes herself her own personal salad.  She claims the stuff is there for the kids, but between my husband and I, the kids don't see a crumb of it.  LOL  I am of course being a little sarcastic, but you get my point.  Also, she came to our house for a week to watch our kids while my hubby and I went on a trip.  Of course when we came back my pantry was loaded with crap.  Two different types of cake, and just junk.  I was like gee, thanks.  Gotta love MILs!

Hey guys, thanks! :)

No, I don't automatically think she's out to get me... although I wouldn't say it hasn't occured to me.  I'm pretty sure she isn't THINKING that anyway.  Like I said, just venting and being funny, etc.

Seriously though, that ice cream cake wasn't 'accidentally' left there! LOL!  I was hoping my brother-in-law would scarf it down but I guess not.

Mmmmm ice cream.

Hahaha...My MIL and FIL are both watching their weight, but when the kids go over there it is like their opportunity to get junk and of course they have some too b/c I hear how good those frosted animal cookies are and that I need to bring my MIL more next time the kids come over.  I'm thinking, "I didn't buy those b/c I know I love them."

It's like my MIL's and FIL's excuse to cheat but then they send the temptation home to us.  LOL.

I really like my in-laws.  I think their good people.
Hmmm...this give me some ideas...

1).  I'm sending anyone who annoys me something special this Christmas from the Swiss Catalog (with all the yummy chocolate cakes).  Hahahaha!

2).  I'm going to join a club that sends a cake once monthly to my SIL, who I hate.  Last time she got skinny she acted like a total butt.  She is a big time adulterer and evil twisted b divorcing my brother.  So, she has these beautiful girls I love and I have to be nice to her b/c of the kids.  She's getting cakes! Hahaha!

3).  I love to bake.  I'm going to send cakes to my hubby's work b/c there are too many thin women working there with their little candy jars on their desks which totally tempts my hubby.  I hope he can avoid the cake.  LOL!

4).  Before my next class reuntion I am sending cakes to every person on the guest list and a little extra sweet somethings to my ex-boyfriend and his wife to sabotage their pre-reunion dieting plans. LOL

Of course I am kidding b/c I can't afford that many cakes.  But hey it is fun to think about.  I am really considering the cakes to my evil SIL though. Hahaha!
hehe that is so funny :-)

it could be ur MIL hates wasting food??? I know even when I dont want to eat something, I cant bear to throw it away, even if it is junk food... I have to either, 1) wait til it goes bad (loonnnng time) or 2) give it way to someone (usually make my boyfriend eat it :-)
cmama -- Check out my default picture and you'll see why I hang around here. ;)

Robyn -- I'm in upstate NY, but my in-laws live in Duluth.  Perhaps you could send it up there for my wife and kids to pick up next week when they're up there. :)
dnrothx  I've seen your default pic before and that looks like great progress.  Keep it up.

I was tempted by cake tonight when we went out to eat, but I am so glad I didn't.  The rotisserie chicken was more calories than I thought it would be and I was just under limit for the day.  Left me enough room for some popcorn tonight and that's it.  I remembered our conversation here tonight when I saw that yummy cake too.

If I would have had the cake I wouldn't have gotten an A and I would have been over my allowance creating a deficit smaller than 1,000 for today.

I'm doing my best to eat clean so I can impress my hubby.  He's doing calorie-count.com too.  He's losing too.  It's harder for him b/c he works which means sitting a lot and eating out a lot more.

When my hubby sees me next I will be down about 18 lbs from last time we saw each other.  That will be a good feeling to show him my success.
