Survey! Three things you eat when...

Quote  |  Reply

You wake up really early and are very hungry, but don't want to make breakfast yet?

Apple, a glass of wholemilk, or a banana

You oversleep, rush out the door and need something to keep you going till later?

A banana, half a PB sandwich, or a milkshake

You have time (e.g. the weekend) to make a leisurely breakfast?

Either a bowl of homemade yoghurt with banana, PB and branflakes mixed in, pancakes with nutella or maple syrup, or scrambled eggs on toast with bacon.

It's the mid morning tummy rumbles and you want a filling snack?

A yoghurt, a cuppa soup, or a milky coffee

You had time to pack a favorite lunchbag?

A ham and cheese salad wrap, some raw veggies, a slice of homemade lemon or fruit cake. Or a a cold cheese and tomato pasta, or rice and chickpeas with pesto.

You forgot to pack lunch and are using the canteen/local shop?

Baked potato with tuna, a chicken salad, or a pot of pasta salad like the tuna one. All with some kind of chocolate bar or cake afterwards.

Your at home ill and aren't that hungry but have a snack for lunch?

Some toast with butter and marmite, a slice of cake, or a small PBJ sandwich

It's a couple of hours till your gym session/ workout and you want an energy boost?

A bowl of granola and milk, some dried fruit, or a small bowl of white rice with seasoning.

You've finished the workout and want something to refuel as it's a while before you'll get dinner?

Cereal and milk, a shake, or a PB sandwich with a banana.

You have almost no food in the house for dinner and have to make something from staples/order food?

Pasta with a cheese or tomato sauce and frozen veg, rice and lentils boiled in stock, or a tin of chickpeas with some jarred sauce or cheese.

You are hungry right before bed and want a light and healthy snack?

Dried fruit, veggies and dip, or a big spoonful of PB and raisins.

You are at your favorite restaraunt and can have whatever you like?

My favorite restaraunt is probably wagamama - I love the wagamama ramen with soba noodles, and would also have some fried dumplings, and maybe a chocolate fudge if I wasn't full. Which I would be as the ramen bowls are enormous!

You have friends round for dinner in normal circumstances - (i.e. on a budget, the usual amount of time to prepare)?

If they eat everything: A salad with some crumble feta and chickpeas and vinaigrette, followed by some  roast garlic and thyme marinaded chicken with roast veggies and then if having a dessert a London cheesecake.

If Veggie: Same salad starter, then a rich red lentil and coconut dahl, with garlicky turmeric rice, then some fruit salad with berries with a slice of almond spongecake, and  greek yoghurt.
