Sushi Rolls - spicy mayo??

Quote  |  Reply

A lot of sushi places smother some of their rolls in a spicy orange mayo sauce.  It's too runny to be just pure mayo (yuck) and dry spices.  I'm thinking it has to be cut with something more liquid.

Does anyone know what is in this and how you would figure the calories, I'm thinking per tablespoon?

I figured the same as pure mayo, but I'm guessing it may be marginally less.

Thanks!

Yuuuuummmmm!!!  I LOVE sushi.  I would count it as mayo.  The difference is like you said probably only marginally less.

Thank you!  That is what I figured.  I usually eat sashimi or nigiri, but we decided to order some rolls last night.  I got blindsided, but my oh my it was tasty!  :0)  At least I only ate 1/2 of the roll...

On to today!

That sauce is actually called DYNAMITE SPICY SUSHI SAUCE & it contains mayonaise, soybean oil and hot sauce!

  • ½ cup (low-fat) mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce
  • ¼ tsp roasted sesame oil
(Those are the ingredients if you wanted to make it)... and the calorie count is: 103 Calories & 10 grams of Fat) *Hope that helps!
