I've heard it's good to sweat a lot when you exercise, I've heard you can burn more calories, but this I am not sure of. But I thought I would try it anyway. I have an Elliptical Trainer and it has a nice fan on it, I normally always use it. I normally do sweat during my cardio, but not a lot. So I started turning the fan off and turning the AC off in my apartment, I noticed I began to sweat A LOT. I mean it just drips off me constantly, and gets in my eyes and by the time I'm done exercising my hair is soaked. I'm not sure if I'm pushing myself to far or not. But my real question is, am I burning more? Because after this workout I am just exhausted and breathing very heavily and it never used to be that way with the fan and AC on, so it seems I am burning more. Does anyone know? Also, for your information, I have worked out exactly 30 minutes each time. So the duration has not changed.
Thank you.
dunno.
try working up that kind of sweat without turning off the AC and fan - then you are def burning more. lol.
i find i sweat more on weight lifting days. as soon as i hit my post workout cardio, it just pours off.
If you are working harder you are burning more. I'm not sure if the actual sweating means anything, although it will "prove" to look like you lose more weight that way, but its mainly water-weight loss.
I do know that most people are more likely to have better endurance in cooler places, so it might hinder your preformance.
if you can sweat alot when you have fans going, then you are pushing yourself harder. if you are sweating with no air going, you're not necessarily working harder in a good way. you're pretty much just losing water weight when you sweat alot. keep the fan on your machine on and just increase the level of intensity in order to get yourself to work up more of a sweat without dying from overheating
Unless you are sweating from the intensity of the workout then it will be water weight that you loose. Like one of those hot yoga classes, i really want to go to one of them sometime :)
