Sweet Potato and Cake Mix?

I've been reading alot of recipes that use only pumpkin and cake mix for cakes, however I was wondering. Do you think it would turn out if I used canned sweet potatos instead? I have a can that needs to be used...

Hi,  I would try it.  I can be adventurous in the kitchen, sometimes with great results and sometimes.....oh well.

It should work if you puree them.  They have enough moisture, fiber and sweetness.

Yep but the cal count would be way higher. Ppl use pumpkin to lower the cals and up the fibre.

I think it would work.  Let me know how it turns out.

I experiment with things that need to be used up.  Sometimes it's not exactly what I'd hoped for, but edible, sometimes it's better.

I'm wondering if it might be a little thicker than canned pumpkin and need 1/4 c water?
