sweet potatoes
ok, i might sound completely dense here lol but im considering making chicken and sweet potatoes tonight with cauliflower. my question is this: how long does it take to bake a yam/sweet potatoe? and is there anything else that i can do with them to make sure they have a sweet flavor? any input would be great in the next...15-20 minutes LOL :)

I may be weird on this but I like my sweet potatoes very soft, so I end up peeling and chunking them into my vegetable steamer and steaming them for about 15 minutes, then adding them to whatever else I am cooking normally.
Their sweet flavor should be fine with steaming, baking, or frying. I find the microwave to make them a little fibrous and bland.
Edit: looks like I was too slow to be helpful! :(

its better to keep the skin on, the skin is where the good nutrients are
welp, what i do is probably something that would sound weird but i put sugar free carey's maple syrup on my sweet potatos, tastes amazingggggg
I cook mine in the oven usually, and it takes close to 45-60 minutes depending on how soft you want them (I haven't had an oven to cook them in for a few months..but I think I put them in around 375 deg. or so..). Just puncture a few holes in them with a fork, and maybe place something under them b/c they tend to trip gooey stuff..lol
Sweet potatoes are by far my FAV vegetable! YUM

I usually poke holes in them and put them in the microwave for a few mins, 'cause I'm too impatient to bake them in the regular oven. The only time I've put them in the oven is when I make sweet potato fries ('cause that only takes like 20 mins). Usually I put cinnamon and Splenda or sugar (sometimes brown sugar) on them to make them sweet. I think I used sugar-free syrup once, and that was good, too.
thanks all! i made fries. i coated them in olive oil, brown sugar, and chili powder. delicious! a little soggy tho, im gonna have to perfect my technique haha
I use sugar-free syrup also. However Splenda or applesauce work too.
