So, between studying for finals and TTOM being right around the corner, I've had a crazy sweet tooth these last few days!!  I just went and bought a diet soda and a candy bar.  Noooo good.  Does this happen to anyone else?  Any good "fixes"? :)

No good fixes for you (although after watching the biggest loser apparently extra sugar free gum does wonders for a sweet tooth), I'm chewing on cookies right now, pms'ing...I'd rather eat the cookies then bite off coworkers heads.

some things that really satisfy my sweet tooth:

  • vanilla yogurt mixed with cinnamon powder and apple chunks
  • peanut butter spread on a banana and topped with raisins
  • frozen berries
  • fruit dipped in melted dark chocolate
  • oatmeal mixed with honey and some nuts

those are the only ones i can think of.. but sometimes a sweet tooth can only be satisfied by what you REALLY crave. so make smart choices. if you really want some cookies, cake, donuts, ice cream or brownies, don't deny yourself! treat yourself to a reasonable portion of it and enjoy it :) deprivation never works, be kind to yourself. sometimes, i rather eat 3 delicious oreos than 10 diet cookie imitations.

I'm in the same boat! I have an exam tomorrow and I had A WHOLE 100g BAR OF CHOCOLATE.

Because I needed it.

Maintenance day today:)

Umm.. heh, the other day I made chocolate peanutbutter banana milkshakes, some popcorn & watched Enchanted with my daughter in our robes while we painted our toenails. Yesterday morning we split a doughnut too. Mmm. (don't worry, my kid loves healthy food too. Moderation! Moderation!)

I've got finals & final projects/presentations going on too. It's hard to get "me" time, but PMS requires self focus! Go get yourself exactly what you want & go for it. I suspect your cravings will discontinue & you'll be satisfied that you got some time to indulge yourself.

I get my fix from Kellog's fiber plus bars (dark chocolate with almonds) or a banana shake. I often have the shake for breakfast...I actually found the recipe on CC: 1/2 a frozen banana, ice cubes, about 1/2 cup of fat free milk, dash of cinnimon, 1 splenda or stevia packet, and a small splash of vanilla extract. Let me say...I am addicted to the shake! I'm thinking of changing it up and adding a tablespoon of ovaltine?

I would recommend Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sticks! They are pure heaven, and only 87 calories! The best thing is, they don't taste like "diet food"  (my brother said he liked them better than normal ice cream!) and they are quite an okay portion, so you feel satisfied after having just one. The only down side is that they are a bit expensive, but they are JUST SO GOOD. Totally take care of any sweet tooth craving i get!

Zone perfect snack bars!!! The chocolate almond biscotti is great. 210 cal, but better for you than a candy bar. I eat several small meals or snacks a day and I usually have one as one of my snacks. The little Dove dark chocolates are great too, 5 of them are about the same as a zone bar but not as healthy. I have to do one or the other, both puts me over on calories.

I have a huge sweet tooth ALL the time! Normally I always keep low calorie ice cream in my freezer or I'd never make it! Edy's slow churned is by far the best!

Chocolate or caramel rice cakes (50 calories each)

light popcorn with a few chocolate morsels thrown in (salty and sweet--but limit the chocolate.. you won't need much!)

frozen grapes... they take a little white extra to eat and are so good!

Ever since I lost my first bulk of weight (3 and a half stone) I've developed a major sweet tooth. I buy chocolate and sweets that are made with maltitol rather than sugar. Bit more expensive and usually only available in health shops, but it works. Or I treat myself to weight watchers desserts if I've had a good food day. Try looking for desserts or ice creams with no fat or sugars...they do make them although you have to search for them. That way, you can still get your fix and remain on track. Don't overdo it though. Just cos it isn't as bad as normal sugary stuff, if you eat them in large amounts you'll be back to square one! Hope this helps!

My all time fav:

light cool whip

strawberries

a crushed up 100-cal pack of Lorna Doone's

Stir all together and you've got a low cal amazing strawberry shortcake! :)

Lately I've been mixing some jello sugar free pudding mix (50 cal) with 2 ounces of almond breeze (10 cal) and cottage cheese (80 cal) for a super sweet tooth fix with protein that curbs my hunger, and it's actually really good.

I buy little (100g) cans of reduced fat chocolate creamed rice. I get to satisfy the chocolate craving with something that isn't totally bad and for only 108 calories per can. I eat it really slowly, with a baby sized teaspoon and savour each mouthful of the chocolatey flavour.

I found some boysenberry & Acai berry sorbet in the ice-cream freezer the other day and for 60g serving is only 40 calories. Throw in a serving of weight watchers sugar-free jelly and a few frozen berries (sprinkled with splenda if needed) and you have a really sweet tasty treat for around 100 calories.

Any of the weight-watchers single-serve ice-creams tubs are great at around 125 calories. My favourite is berry mudslide.
