swiss miss hot chocolate 25 cals
When I first tried this, it was very delicious. After I checked the label, I found out that it has 150g of sodium per serving. That is a horrible amount of sodium for such a small serving.
Now, when I drink it to satisfy my chocolate craving, I feel like I drink salt in water.:(
just wanted to vent.

Why not try making your own with cocoa, milk (non-fat or skim) and sugar substitute? If you want to have something instant, experiment around with cocoa, powdered milk and sugar substitute.
didoslament: Thanks for your reply. Do you have a recommendation? I was looking to buy Hershy unsweetned cocoa but people here told me it is not a good idea. I don't know why. if you know of a good brand, please let me know. Many thanks.
1 cup skim milk = 80 cals
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa = 10 cals
sugar substitute = ~0 cals
---------------------------
total = ~90 cals for 1 cup hot chocolate
The diet swiss miss packets are only 25 cals and I think there is plenty of taste for more like 1.5 cups. Maybe more.

A teaspoon of salt is 2325 mg of sodium. 150 mg of sodium is a dash or about 0.4 grams, so Swiss Miss is far from salt water.
I don't know why I don't enjoy it anymore.By the way, one serving is 1/2 cup only. boiled water is not allowed. Only hot water, don't know why. so I end up drinking not so hot chocolate.
try the nestle carb free fat free. it also only has 25 cals and in my personal opinion, i have tried both, has a sweeter taste. not sure on the sodium content though. worth to checking out.
Oooohhhh .... I love the Swiss Miss sugar free hot chocolate! In addition to drinking it AS hot chocolate, I use it to flavor protein shakes, and I've even sprinkled it on buttered toast and cereal!
OK, I'm weird.

Molly: I think what you are talking about is different than the diet one. I might be wrong. not sure.
i second vmcbutterfly... i think the sodium is about the same but nestle low carb/fat free (35 cal) with mini marshmellows is much better IMO =)
I always make my hot chocolate from scratch, it's deeeelicious
You need 1.5 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 packet of Splenda (or whatever swwetener you want), and 1 cup of unsweetened soy milk (you can use skim if that's what you prefer). Whisk together the cocoa, Splenda, and a little bit of the milk in a saucepan until it forms a paste. Put it on medium heat and whisk in the rest of the milk . Mmm.
100 or so calories, but you get dairy and protein and calcium and all that good stuff

Maybe, but I've used the diet one in oatmeal, on popcorn, on pretzels.. I even stirred it into some milk to make chocolate milk! :D
Just tried... with extra dark chocalate powder added... Delicious! Thanks! I was extra hungry tonite, and this- with a few almonds, kept me outta' trouble, and upped what I needed in my nutrition in fats, too, lol!
i use the fat-free swiss miss. it's like magic. it tastes so good and so low cal. i throw it in to my morning oatmeal, and sometimes it's good company at night when im doing my homework. it's got loads of calcium and tastes good,i wouldn't really mind a bit of sodium.
For the amazing taste and calorie count, I think I can afford to drink an extra few glasses of water. : P
