T.G.I fridays
although i've eaten here tons of times, was just wondering what other Veggies eat here thats somewhat healthy. Boss is taking us out for lunch tomm and wanted to stay away from my regular spinach and artichoke dip.
Thanks!
Maybe go with the cobb salad...no bacon...
Their cobb salad is ginormous! Get it without meat and get the dressing on the side, and maybe shy away from bleu cheese dressing...and maybe get the cheese that comes with the salad on the side too since they give you SO much!
It's amazing to me how few vegetarian options these chain restaurants have. EVERYTHING has meat in it! Even the mac & cheese at Applebee's has meat in it, and every salad does too! It's totally unfair that non-meat eaters have to pay the price for meat that they're not consuming when they order something like a salad. Really grinds my gears...
I hear ya! I usually have no problem at any restaurant, go to steakhouses, seafood places with coworkers and always find something to eat, its finding something Healthy to eat thats the problem! theres only so much Salad you can eat!
I went to Taco bell the other day and asked for a gordita, substituting the meat with beans...i'm fine with the fact that she didnt charge me less due to no meat, BUT she charged me extra for adding the beans!!!!!!!!!!! how annoying
I just at Fridays a couple of weeks ago and they had a really tasty eggplant lasagna salad thing that is a recipe from the Food Network. I'm not sure how healthy it was, but it has breaded eggplant, some noodles, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and some olive oil. I was impressed with it, usually when I eat at big chains it is hard to find anything vegetarian that is unique and tasty!

Taco Bell has plenty of vegetarian options, and I feel sure a bean burrito fresco style would be a good bit healthier than a gordita. Though I have wanted to try the Mexican Pizza (not healthy at all, I know) with beans instead of meat. Now I know not to.
I hate TGIF's too. They have a portobello sandwich and an eggplant lasagna salad that are gross. I stay away from that place.
I'm a little late, but for anyone else checking out Fridays, try the red pepper soup. It's a side for some entree, I forget which one, but they will sell it by itself, and it's delicious. That said, I'm not sure if it's lower calorie or not. I did ask if it's suitable for vegetarians and the server apparently checked and reported it had no chicken/beef/etc stock in it and that it's vegetarian, and it didn't taste weird or anything, but probably wouldn't hurt to ask each time, never know when someone is lying about that sort of thing.
