I've been watching what I eat and have started to train myself on learning to like the 'healthy' food.....so now I need to start on the exercise.
I hate going to the gym and can't get into walking or running. When I was in high school (almost 10 yrs ago) I was in Tae Kwon Do. I also did a year of karate in college.
So this is what I'm going to do! I have my first class on Monday. The instructor is going to work with me to see what I remember and then place me in the correct class.
Does anyone else do martial arts for exercise? What changes did you notice in your body? In calorie burning? It's been so long, I can't remember what it was like in high school ;p

I've been doing tae bo...haha. Yes, I know it's not the same thing, but it definitely does work the body. The first time I done it, the next day I hurt so bad..in places I've never hurt. I haven't been doing it long enough to see changes. So, I'm sure what you're going to do is gonna kick ass. I'd like to take a tae kwon do class. Hope you enjoy it!
I do kung fu (jow ga to be exact) and I love it. If TKD is anything like kung fu - and I think it is with the kicks and whatnot - you'll get a lot of great leg and abs work. Flexibility increases as well, which I wasn't expecting. Martial arts are great for exercise, burn a lot of calories, and build strength as well.
