To get a copy of the games challenge patch (picture image created by garnet77) for your pictures:

http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/communi ty/userpics.php ?picid=userpic_222183_63ec8be53c293335a0290a7 130708383

  • click on the link and it will take you to a large version of the patch
  • copy and save it to your computer (with a name you will remember and in a location you will remember)
  • come back to calorie-count community pages and click on the "pictures" link (points ^ up) on all the community pages.
  • it will take you to your pictures area where you can upload the patch and any personal pictures you want.
  • click on the upload link and follow the prompts.
  • be sure to make the patch your default picture if you want it to show when someone hovers over your name in the forums
  • note:  this is not required.... only if you want to do it!!!  you are welcome to make any picture your default picture...  the point is... you must have a default picture checked (marked default) or no one will be able to see any of your pictures.
To put get a ticker from the ticker factory for your profile or journal:

  • go to  www.tickerfactory.com and choose how you want it to look. When you are done,
  • copy the middle code and paste it in your profile or journal (edit- click on the green arrows<> button and paste the code in. Update and you are set).
  • When you want to update, click on the ticker, which will take you to the web site. Update and it should automatically update in your profile.
To put a picture of the patch (or any picture) in your profile

  • copy the url (web address) for the picture like this one
  • edit your profile.
  • it will give you a text box with a bar of buttons across the top.
  • click on the button with the little yellow mountain and you will see a drop down window with a space
  • paste the url (web address) for the picture into the space
    • Note:  make sure there are no spaces in the link after you past it into the text box
  • put your cursor where you want the picture to show in the text box and click insert image
  • then click update
  • it should start showing your picture :)
if that didn't work, try this alternative...

  • click on the link so you see the image in your browser
  • put your cursor over it, right click and choose "copy"
  • go to your member page profile and click edit
  • put your cursor where you want the image to show
  • right cllick and choose "paste"
  • if it's there, click update & you're done :)

Thanks Jules! I was going to do a little tutorial, but now I have tagged this post, so I can pass it out!! You rock!!
bump
Thanks for the helpful tips :)

There is still one question I have, which is, after I have a default pic, how do I get my gallery (all my pix) to show up after someone clicks it in my profile? Right now, you have to click my defalut pic in my profile, which then fills up the page, and after that click gallery to see them all.
United, I followed your instructions to a tee from opening post, the instructions to putting one of your pictures into your profile, (not default), but the patch, and it did not work. Can you tell me why. I did exactly as you explained and in the order you said, but I got a little box with the symbol for the picture, but when I clicked update, I still had only that, not the picture. Then I got out of edit mode, and I still did not have the picture, not even the symbol.
About the New Burn Meter on CC Plus

And calculating Total Calories Burned for the Daily Deficit Formula for Losing Weight

And the AMR rate used by CC calculators (instead of BMR)

There is a Burn Meter on your Home Page of the new CC Plus website (which is the same as the total calories shown on your old Account Home Page on Classic CC) :

On the Burn Meter ~ the Total Estimate (the big high top number) is your total calories burned (expended) for all of today based on 2 things:

your normal calories expenditure based on what you said (height, age, weight, hrs of sleep, body frame size, and activity level)

plus the additional calories you log in from activity/exercise

this runs from midnight until midnight and then resets

note: it auto adjusts for the difference between what you burned for exercise and what you would have burned just living so the calories are not double counted; for ex if you lived 1 hour at sedentary you would have burned 50 cals anyway.  If you swam and burned 200 cals, you actually burned 150 cals extra (200 exercise - 50 what u would have burned anyway).

This is the number you use as total calories burned in the formula:

Total Calories Burned - minus Calories eaten = equals your Deficit for the day

(keep deficits between 500 - 1,000 to lose 1 - 2 lbs a week; anything faster should be done with the help of a medical provider :)

Back to the Burn Meter!  The number in the middle of the box is what you have burned so far today from living plus logged as exercise.

On classic CC, you can also see this on your account home page.

This number is only available today, so you need to write it down somewhere (like your journal) if you want to know "total calories burned" for prior days.

Also, as you lose weight, your normal calorie expenditure (the amount you burn just living based on your own personal stats) auto adjusts downward based on your new lower weights.

The Normal Calorie Expenditure used on this website is also known as the Active Metabolism Rate (AMR) because it is your BMR (Basal Metabolism Rate) adjusted based on the activity level you said when you entered your stats.

All of the calculators on Calorie Count use the Active Metabolism rate ~ including the Allowance calculator (because this is adjusted for your specific stats an activity level :)

Hope this helps :)

Hi Humorpam ~ Did you download the patch to your computer, save it on your computer, and then try to upload it?  Just like you would any other picture (from your computer to cc?)
Hope I can get some help here with the Weight Loss Diet Ticker, I followed all the instructions.  However, after I updated my profile, the image doesn't show at all, just the pasted information. Not sure what I am doing wrong.  Any help is greatly appreciated!
