Taking the next step

Quote  |  Reply

As I am getting closer to my fat loss goal I have taken the next step in my quest to become more fit. Since March/April I have been using the treadmill at ever increasing inclines for about 70 minutes 4 - 7 times a week. Now, with the help of a personal trainer I am learning about strength training. (I am 61 years old and have never formally exercised before now.)

I have seen her x2 a week for two weeks and am quite enjoying the experience. Obviously it will take awhile before I progress to free weights as I am learning movement preparation and core strength and balance exercises. I have little core strength, my balance is not always great and I am not too flexible. Embarassed  I have bought a balance ball and am able to practise some exercises at home. I hate some of the exercise and with others I achieve success. Interesting to be able to "feel" muscles that I thought were lost. Wink
