Taking a Day Off?
Someone recently told me that if approximately every 10 days I take a day off from my diet and increase calories for that day, I will lose more weight because doing this keeps you metabolism up.
Has anyone else heard this? And if you have is it true?
I have mixed feelings on it.
Any feedback would be great. Thanks!
How can eating more calories for one day be harmful when you have to eat more calories to maintain your weight once you reach your goal.

Mr elenbaas is a good teacher but he is really boring he talks alot and he never shuts up but he really knows what he is talking about he is fat too he will sit in class eating mcdonalds and he will hog the fries but he is still losing weight on the mcdonalds diet all you have to do is eat 4 cheese burgers and 2 large fries every meal and youll start dropping weight faster than i can say supercalifragilisticsexpialadotious and i can say it fast so start your new personalized diet today
elenbaastr Is the smartest one on here. Looks to me as if he is having fun making you all look like fools. You guys are all RETARDED. The best way to loose weight is to not eat for a couple weeks. Your body will eat away your body and you will then be skinny. Thats if you dont die from malnutrition.

Was that REALLY necessary? Come on people. Let's try to be mature and not act like little babies.
elenbaastr happens to be my physiology teacher and I'm pretty sure that by not listening to him, you are setting yourself up for failure.
Our class is currently studying the misconceptions of weight loss.
1. Taking a day off on your diet will just remind you of how good it feels to have unhealthy foods in your system.
2. and being a huge ______ isnt going to help you lose weight either :)
Seeing as how Mr.Elenbaas teaches this for a living. I think the rest of you should just be quiet.

i just have one more thing to say if you eat at least 13 lbs of bacon a day you will lose so much wieght i tried it and now i can hide behind trees
its funny how all the profiles supporting elenbaastr were made on the same day hmm - anyway it has worked for me in the past i have sometimes ate maintenance calories or above and have found i have lost weight soon after but i guess it may work for everyone differently and i agree it is fun too i do it a few times a month normally.
Ok this thread is getting a little crazy. My first post was really just intended to throw in my two cents... I have been pretty successful losing weight. No I am not a personal trainer or anything, I am a law student, but that doesn't mean I know nothing about weight loss. I just felt like my original advice was being attacked for no good reason, you don't need to major in something to be knowledgeable about it. Thats part of what this site is about is learning from other people and finding what works for you. Anyways sorry if I offended anyone but I am out of the back and forth type stuff.
