Taking a Poll...How long before your were pregnant after stopping the pill?
My husband and I have decided that I am going off the pill in October. We are going to "stop preventing" rather than "start trying."
I'm just wondering how long it takes for your cycle to return to "normal" after stopping the pill. I've been on them for 7 years and I'm a little concerned.

I was on the pill for 8 years and was off for 7 months before we got pregnant. I was 30 and all my friends about the same age have similar stories.
It took five months after stopping the pill to get pregnant, and then we had a miscarriage. We've been trying for over a year since then without a success.
It can go either ways, you can have a baby right away so be ready. But also be aware that sometimes it's more complicated and will take a lot of time and some medical help. I learned that the a lot of woman suffer from ovulating problems (especially as we move out our fertile mid-twenties) but aren't aware of it because the bcp's can mask it. Good luck!!!
3 weeks the first time, 2 months the second. Both perfectly healthy pregnancies. For some reason, before my first child I thought I'd heard that you can't get pregnant for 3 months after stopping the pill. Of course, a few weeks later I found out I'd heard wrong!
I just found out I'm pregnant! This was the third cycle off the pill, but I didn't 'try' during the first cycle because I wanted to get a sense of my cycle length.
I'm still not sure how long my cycle is because it varied from the first to the second month, then I missed my period so...?
My doc said the only reason to wait is so that you can better predict the due date.
With my first, I went off the pill around Christmas and my daughter was born the following October. With my second, I got pregnant the night we decided to have another - but I had been off the pill at that time.
Good Luck!
