tall club 5'10'' and over ladies who want to lose 20-30 lbs... join me for weekly weigh-ins and motivation!!
Lauren in San Diego here (5'11''). I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy. I need to get back on the wagon. I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150. Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow. I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated. All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!
Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!
Hi, My shoe size is 10-11 depending upon the shoe. I have come to the conclusion that I am not supposed to were cute shoes(based upon whats available) but I keep shopping and hoping..once in awhile I catch a good find!
I have come to the conclusion that I am at a serious plateau I've been stuck at 188-186 since I started posting on this site. My plan is to increase exercise and watch my calories... I've been having a bit of ice cream after dinner.
Kim
hey all,
oh im really not looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow, have been weighing in a couple of days this week and I've gained but im hoping against hope, it was water weight and it'll come off again just as easy, we'll see!
toasizeten: of course still eat carbs, I eat 50-60% carbs everyday! Just ensure they are within your calorie limit.
Good luck to everyone weighing in tomorrow!!
Hi Lauren,
I hope its not to late to join. I posted some comments earlier>>and I noticed new members ask for permission to join...so here it is.>>Can I join?? PLEASE!!!
I am really excited for the weigh in tomorrow. I have to stop by Walmart today to pickup a scale...I hope we (the scale and I) can be friendly, cause that last time I meet a scale I crushed it in my garbage compactor and ate a pint of rocky road as a sign of protest(lol!)
No but in all seriousness, i am ready to make a postive change:)
Unite Amazons!!
I would to join the club
I started CC last friday weighing in at 205, I have since gain a pound, so hopefully when I weigh in tomorrow I will be back at my starting weight or a lil under. Crossing hands. My goal is for now is 175, then I will go from there.
Crydavis27>>You can do it!!!>>> I started off being 200lbs @ 5"11" . I reduced my calories and started walking and getting more movement into my life (walking, biking, etc) I have lost about on avg 15-20lbs in 3 mos.
Learn from my mistakes, stay away from salt. Salt in foods, and table salt; that was my down fall when I intially started trying to loose weight once upon a time:)
Its been smooth sailing since I made that discovery:)
Eileen:)
I"m in!!!
I'm 5' 11" and @ 190 now. my goal is 161.
I just found this site two days ago and i've been telling all my pals who aren't happy with their size but it doesn't seem they are too ready to jump on the train. Soooo, it makes me really happy to find a group that's not only ready to make changes but fellow AMAZONs as well. MEGA COOL :)
Welcome to all the new ladies! Don't worry about asking Allison or any of us to join, everyone's welcome! To those who have been here awhile, did Allison drop out, havent heard from her in FOREVER! Anyhow my name is Danielle and I've been doing CC/this group since early May and I've lost about 9 lbs. (I waited to start logging my weight til I was 160, but the first time I stepped on the scale it was 162!) Anyhow I am 153 now and lovin it. Its so nice to hear from other tall girls facing the same challanges, and hearing everyones success stories. I hope you all stay with it and keep coming back here for motivation and bragging stories!
Weigh in is tomorrow, I am excited/nervous. I was 153 today and **fingers crossed** hope it sticks! My big change this week was going home for lunch every day, as I do live close to my work.

WELCOME, WELCOME one and all, no need to ask permission, we just use this thread as a place to rant and rave and pick up tips and ideas on exercise and foods, and judge our progress in relation to tall women, no one here is gonna be complaining that they're 105lbs and not 100lb if you know where im coming from. We also weigh in on Fridays and its really encouraging to see other people your stats progressing towards their goal, and getting advice, if you want it on how they are doing it! Ok so, its Fri morning here in Ire. So with much trepidation, after a weekend of over indulging and a week of seriously retaining water, I approached the scales, I'm reasonably content to report I'm stuck at 132lbs, happy because I havent gained and I had been up much of the week when I'd sneak a peek in the evenings, at one stage I saw 139lbs on the scale which rly freaked me out, so ladies, be advised, a weekend of drinking really masks your true weight for quite a few days.
I've been at 132lbs for the last two weeks so I'm hoping to drop the final few soon but its coming off slow!! Good luck to everyone today!!
Danielle, great decision on going home at lunch, I wish I had that option, there really is a lot to be said on knowing exactly what is going into your meals, I have a great canteen at work with beautiful salads etc. but I rarely indulge as they're often covered in dressing and oils, I usually get a bowl of soup, I know they are made from fresh veg and organic produce but I always suspect the amount of cream and seasoning in there is something I dont want to know about, I just try my best and guestimate. Bet you will start noticing a diff now in your loss AND all the money you save you can splash out on outfits to show off your hot new bod. GOOD JOB!!
PS. Im so happy its Friday!!
Hi everyone,
It's Friday and I'm weighing in.
SW 204
GW 150
CW 186 (Lost 1.8 lbs this week)
I'll be SO glad when I'm finally out of the 180's. I'm currently at the lowest weight I reached last year. I'm still doing good on my eating and exercise. So I expect to keep loosing this time. But it will be so liberating to finally be below the 180's. I guess this is my first psychological hurdle to overcome in reaching my goal.
Have a great weekend,
Beth
Happy Friday!
Well - I am up to 166 lbs today :( (thats 2lbs randomly gained this week)...I have been very diligent about eating well and have been to the gym every day this week. Not sure what that is all about but guessing I am either holding tight on water or building some good muscle...no way is it BAD weight to stay!!
My body is just being very bratty the last month or so...not much budging and now up! Geez! Trying not to be discouraged I am going to keep it up!
Good job on everyone's losses and successful maintenance phases.
Have a great weekend!
CB
Yay for Friday!
So I seem to be stuck at 149. Was the same weight last week. I'm sure its the fact that I keep going out of town on weekends and not worrying so much about what I'm eating. Going out of town AGAIN this weekend to Indianapolis. I'm staying at a hotel which means eating out all weekend.
I hope I can find some low cal options!
Good luck for the weekend to everyone- I know thats definitely the hardest for me. Have a great weekend!
Woohoo!!! Friday is Fiiiiinally here! What a week... Welcome New girls!! :)
Im down to 161 today, thats down 1.2lbs since last week. I ate kinda badly yesterday, but I did write it all down and I was 500 cals over my burn. Im not worrying about it. I think my body must've needed the extra cals because it wasnt just eating out of boredom and the desire to eat someting high in calories...I wanted anything, any food. And it wasnt a concious thought really, more just my body going to town on the frigerator and gettin what it needed lol. so thats ok and no real significant gain this morning *whew*. Back to eating normally and getting more than 1100-1400 cals everyday cuz thats just not enough for me. Hopefully by next week I'll be in the 150s!!!
Good job this week you guys!
Happy Friday Ladies!
Hope you all had a successful week. I am happy to report I've finally lost 1 lb! Off that plateau!! Steph, I think its great you are able to maintain while going away, that says loads about your self-control. I don't know if you saw the article, but apparently restaurants like Chilis & Maccaroni Grill lied A LOT about their "healthy dishes", some had 3x the fat and cals listed on the menu!! So if you can maintain while having to deal with obstacles like that its great. I'm sure when you are back in your routine you will see those #s really start dropping! Beth- yay for your loss, looks like that extra exercise paid off MUCHO for you this week, keep it up and you will be out of the 180s (forever) very soon! Carol- Glad to hear things are straightening up for you. I know its much easier to stay on track when things are "going your way" so good for you for maintaining. I like the way you think about the $$ saved. Right now I have the problem that all my nice work pants and skirts I bought when I got out of school are wayy too big, all size 8 US, so I've got to get them altered.
Hoping to stay strong this weekend while at the beach. GO TEAM AMAZON!!
Oh here are my stats: (5'10")
SW- 162
last week- 154
today- 153!! woohoo
goal- not sure? 140 maybe?
-Danielle
Hey Folks!
5'11
SW: 205
CW:205.5 :( Gain 1/2 pound, but I think I headed in the right directions
GW: 175 for now
Thanks Eileen for the encouragment. I will take your advice
I just can't wait too see the 190's. I will be sooooo happy, if you only knew!!
See ya next weigh in, but I will check in time to time to see how everyone is doing. Have a good weekend everybody!
for those of you whohave trouble finding shoes say no more! its not set in stone but i'm currently trying to start a shoe company (ive been wearin a size 11 since 6th or 7th grade). hopefully i get some illustrations down but its gonna take a while...
anywho what kinda of exercising do most of you do? yesterday i alternated sprinting and walking for 20min. im going to weight train today (whole body) and come back and do a workout dvd most likely.
any suggestions on other ways to really burn calories?!! i've been struggling to get the last 10-15lbs off...i might be eating too little too.
toasize10- if you belong to a gym do a spinning class- you sweat like CRAZY and its so hard I walked out of one once (i felt nauceous) but I've heard you burn about 600 cals in 45-50 mins. Also if you drink any drinks with calories on another board I visit a girl said she cut out all drinks with calories (she drank a lot of juice) and she lost 2 lbs in one week (also eating healthy & getting workouts in). Something I'm currently trying to do is eat all meals at home, or bring homemade stuff with me. That way you KNOW what the stats are on whats going into your mouth.
On a side note, I just BLEW it and went out to lunch for the first time in a few weeks and downed (i think) over 1,000 calories in ONE meal, ahhhhhhh!!!) I had a crab melt with a side of fries and ate alll of the fries and 2/3 of the sandwich. I couldn't find stats on a crab melt on CC but I just put in a tuna melt instead and it was 790 cals, and the fries are 490?? Do you think a crab melt would be a bit less bad than a tuna melt b/c it probably has less mayonaise, or is it just as bad?
I am at 1590 cals for the day, and I still need to eat dinner. If I just eat soup and a piece of plain chicken for dinner and run 6 miles do you think I will be sort of okay for the day? HELP ME!!!
-Danielle
Happy Friday Alll!
5'11"
154.5lbs
My maintenance experiment was to end today. It went pretty well. I started maintaining at 1800-2200 on July 4 at 157-160lbs (stuck there over a month).
Almost immediately after I upped my calories (had been at 1500-1700 to lose) the weight started moving DOWN and I was at 155 last week. Weird. This week down another 1/2 a pound.
I'm now eating between 1900 and 2200 (accounting for workouts) and my weight seems to be resting mostly at 155lbs. But it's been TTOM this past week, so I really have no idea what will happen next week.
Since my goal was 150lbs, I decided to give myself the rest of this month to get a handle on maintenance, then will try losing the last few pounds in August. This is tricky business and just when I think I've figured it out, something else unexpected happens.
Good luck to all! Enjoy your weekend.

Dani- Giiirl you got to go read my journal lol! i did the same thing today only it was breakfast and I didnt eat any lavish meals...I went crazy on the peanut butter & crackers again! Before I knew it I had had 1070 calories all before 10am! and last night I got home at 9pm with a 910 calorie defecit but I ate a TON and ended up 500 cals over! It happens sooo fast. You will be fine. I sat down and wrote out that journal with my "plan of action" for the day :P and Im stickin to it. I burned 610 cals in 45 mins on the elliptical (allegedly lol) and i had a can of pears for lunch, Im guzzlin the waters and chewin gum like mad but I feel pretty full. I think I'll be fine till dinner. I decided Im going to try making some Tilapia with rice and steamed veggies for dinner (I've never had fish that wasnt from long john silver's so we'll see how this goes). And Im gonna try to go for a 45 minute bike ride this evening for about 200-300 cals leeway. You can do the same thing, you're day is NOT shot! Dont freak out like I did lol. Skook- thats really interesting how that experiment is turning out for you. Congrats on the .5lb. It sure looks like you will be down another couple pounds after totm is over. Cant wait to see how it goes!Toasize10- I am kinda boring when it comes to working out cuz I dont have too many options but what I do burns a lot I think. I been stickin to the ellliptical and body weight exercises through the week when I cant ride, and on the weekends road cycling is Awesome! Its so fun and challenging and my legs are feeling a lot stronger! You can really burn a TON of cals cycling. Cry- Dont worry bout that little gain, keep at it & it will be gone in no time. We will be cheering you on to the 190s and be just as excited for you as you are when you reach it! :)Cvob- way to keep up the morale thats encouraging to us all cuz we've all been there! You're handling it like a champ. Just gotta kick it in high gear and push a little harder, probably just water weight anyways! Beth: GReat job on that 1.8--might as well say 2!lbs loss. You are somethin else. I know you are kickin butt over there with ur workouts. You definately deserve every loss! Carol- Im with Danielle. Good job on maintaining. 139 would be scary! Its unreal how the weights can vary from morning to evening thats why I stay awaaay from the scale at night lol. Im chicken :P But seriously, you're doin good!
EDIT: wow thats really long, Im kind of embarressed lol. But I like to reply to everyone, it helps us get to know each other!! Have a great weekend!
I live really close to where I work, so i ride my bicycle maybe 3x's a week; 6 miles there and back. It helps with the high cost of gas too and its enviromentally friendly.
During the weekends, I go to the local bike trail for a 10 mile trek (totaling 20 miles to and fro). Im no lance armstrong (who would want to>>LOL) but I manage.
I am thinking about buying a weighted vest to use for hiking.. That reminds me I need to buy a scale too(since I am new to this string)
Hope that helps!! Have a great weekend
