Lauren in San Diego here (5'11''). I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy. I need to get back on the wagon. I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150. Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow. I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated. All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Recognize me? I dyed my hair dark again...just a temp dye. I like my hair dark in the cooler months.
This is sort of a goodbye post. Sort of. I've decided to go back to maintenance...since I am pretty much there anyway.
I will still be visiting this forum, but will probably have nothing to post unless I can attempt to offer assistance or comment on your posts. And of course, if I go above 155lbs, I'll be putting myself back in weight loss mode.

Hi All, I'm feeling very unmotivated this week :(. I feel fat and I've done nothing to make me feel that way (no treats, working out, etc). It makes me want to run like hell to the nearest grocery store for baked goods :(. How do you all deal with periods of wanting to jump off the wagon? Last week I was on the biggest high from my weightloss/food/exercise and this week it seems like my appetite has no bounds and my stomach just wants to stick out for no good reason. I haven't jumped yet, but i want to...can anyone provide some guidance?
inittowinit1: I know its easier said than done but just give yourself a break from exercise for a day or two, maybe go for s leaisurely stroll around the mall, then go home, get nice and cosy in front of the tv or read a book and make a nice big bowl of warm oatmeal and sprinkle some chopped nuts and cocoa in it, thats the kind of thing i do when im feeling in need of a treat at least, hope it helps!! Remember the feeling of trying on old pants and them feeling loosing, or seeing the scales go down before you get to the grocery store!!

The weight doesn't seem to be moving, but I seem to stay at one weight for awhile and then suddenly lose. I ate way too much last night, but I also did my workout harder than normal, so hopefully the damage wasn't too bad. I need to watch the sweets!
I was looking for info on walking for exercise, but the Exercise Forum is full of "weights not cardio" folks, so I'm not going there. Oh well. I walk on hills and was trying to find a burn rate. Anyone have any info on walking besides the usual 100 calories/mile?

My weight has been so freaking kooky lately I don't know what to say about it. Within a matter of 4 days it has gone up and down wildly, as much as 5 lbs.
This is a break weekend for me. The MIL is coming and we're going to have the J man's birthday. My baby is turning 2 on Sunday and I'm going to be making a HUGE cake shaped like a semi truck requiring 2 whole cakes and I'm going to eat half of it probably...with ice cream. Maybe I won't be joining Skooks in the maintenence club soon.
All I know to add about walking is that anyone who wants to seriously exercise for the rest of their lives would benefit from getting a heart rate monitor. I love mine to death. I can jog in place while I do laundry and I know what I'm burning while I do, that's exercise I can deduct from my work out later! Do you walk with weights at all?
skookum- Congratulations for exceeding your goals and good luck with maintenance! Also I read your post about all the pumpkin things you were making and was wondering if you would be willing to share some of your recipes. I always love to start making pumpkin things in fall.
init- Stick with it eventually something will change. Maybe try doing your measurement or fitting on clothes that didn't fit a few pounds ago. I have been the same weight for 3 1/2 months and have been endlessly frustrated but I try to remind myself that I am still improving my health even if the numbers aren't moving.
General question about measurements- I was wondering if people would mind sharing personal description of how pounds lost correlated to inches or clothing sizes lost? I am trying to get an idea of how much more weight I need to lose to actually have a noticeable difference in how I look.
In the last year I have lost 22 lbs (Currently 5' 10'' 159 - yay lost all that water weight from last week). I feel a lot lighter but, other than a few pairs of pants being SLIGHTLY baggy and some parts of my body being a little bit different shape, I really can't tell much of a difference. I did my measurements today and have only lost 1- 1 1/2 inches in each of the areas of my trunk and upper legs and no inches lost in arms and lower legs. I am not sure if this a usual decrease for 20 lbs or if I am just freakishly stuck at around this size.

Thanks Carol-you know I think you're right, I just need a small break. I've decided to take tomorrow off and also increase my cals as they've been foolishly low at 1500 (for me, that's LOW!). Weight loss my slow a bit but that's okay :). Thank you!
Kate--I've lost 10lbs since August and that has translated to 8inches everywhere for me (.5 bust, 1.5 waist, 2 belly button, 1.5 hip bones, 2 butt, .5 thigh). I'm a pretty intense lifter though so I tend to think that inches come off of me much quicker than lbs. My bodyfat has also gone down about 5% (my own estimate)...have you checked bodyfat or taken pics at all? If you haven't started yet, i'd start lifting heavy and you'll see the changes more quickly. When I reached the 6lb lost mark a girl commented that I looked like i dropped 12lbs...weight lifting is my key to fat loss so maybe it's yours too? :)

Great work shea! It is so funny how similar we are losing!! I'm 175.4 this week :) :). We're over the 10lb mark! Go Us! I think we probably have very different body types though as my measurements differ a lot from yours (my butt is bigger, boobs smaller...hey, that's not fair!). Nice job ![]()

As I said, I'm down from 176.8 last week to 175.4 this week. I'm happy although I've decided to increase cals more to 1700-2000/day with a day of maintenance thrown in there too (2300-2500). I'm just starting to get unmotivated and need to relax a bit and keep my workouts up which help me stay on track with food. I'm hoping to get to 170 by Thanksgiving. That is my next goal! That will be crazy if I actually do that--I'll be at my smallest since I ate 500 cals/day for my wedding *sigh*. I get to see my hubs this weekend and he hasn't seen me in 2 weeks so I hope he notices some changes!
I looked at some pics of me way back when and I seem to have THE fattest face when I put on weight. I just look puffy everywhere. yuck. I plan on taking pics this weekend and I'll post some comparisons next week hopefully of August till now.

weldone ladies, good job on losses this week, I'm 127, 1lb off my ultimate goal, and my goal for my holidays.. aw well.. I'm gonna chill out on my week in espana and come back with 3-5lbs to lose again but i dont care, then im gonna try maintenance, so maybe see you there by christmas eh skookum?

I'm still the same 2 lbs down which is fine I guess but I am 3 lbs heavier than I was on Sunday when I suddenly dropped 5 lbs mysteriously. Well, 2 lbs is still something. Hopefully by next week I will have them off again, I'm having some water issues right now, retaining horribly.
I haven't measured myself but I reckon I'm the exact same. I've just eaten about 1000 calories in muffins, I kid you not. Come to think of it I don't think those extra 3 lbs are ever coming off :)
MIL is in town and that's my excuse to eat. Hey, I need SOME sort of pleasure this weekend.
yoga44, I use walkjogrun.com a lot! You can map out your route and the site will give you a calorie burn estimate based on your height and weight, and also give you the mileage. Not sure how accurate the burn estimate is so I always under logged.

And inittowinit, I've always had a major sweet tooth. What worked for me is what Carol suggested. I'd keep my daily goals in mind before going to the grocery store or eating anything that would set me back. For instance, right now I feel the need to eat a box of crackers or cereal. But, I have nothing like that in the house. Also, every once in a while, I do allow myself a day of indulgence. As long as you can get immediately back on track, a day off every once in a while is good for the psyche.
One more thing; I cruise around all the forums on CC and have to say, we have the most beautiful (inside and out) people on this thread. I don't know if I've ever seen such a cluster of beautiful women that are also so absolutely cool. Amazons rawk!

Skooks-thanks, those are great ideas. I did really well last week and the weekend until last night. I planned a cheat...it was not a binge, it was carefully executed :)! I had pizza and donuts :). And it was lovely. And I definitely needed it for pyschological purposes only-i know it is a detriment to my goals but I haven't cheated in over a month and I felt like it was time. And i was so full I was uncomfortable for a good 1.5 hrs last night. Today I am full force back on. I took today off from working out again just to have a small break. I can't wait to get back in there tomorrow.

I have no idea. Try putting a random junk picture in to be your "default" photo and see if it gives you a gallery then maybe?
