Lauren in San Diego here (5'11'').  I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy.  I need to get back on the wagon.  I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150.  Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow.  I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated.  All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!

Merry Christmas Amazons!

I hope you all had a fabulous Holiday. Mine was nice and simple...true meaning of peace was experienced.

As for health, etc. I've been bored so I've been working out a lot. Haven't been able to get to the grocery store by car, so walking then carrying food back has not only added to my daily burn but has prevented me from over-eating.

No Christmas goodies or meals because I was snowed in and couldn't get to my family for the festivities. So, I had nadda to worry about as far as food was concerned.

So, my weight this morning was a happy 150lbs.

Also, my butt is lifting and my thighs are shrinking! I've added squats and lunges to my workout regimen and the results are fascinating! I'm soooo excited! Thanks to three weeks of TamiLee Webb. Can't wait to see how much more tone I can get everything for the summer.

great job skookum! what is the name of the video you are using?  I could use some work in those areas!

ps- I royally sucked at watching things this week.  I will not be weighing in for two weeks because I am so scared of the damage! I think I could easily be at 155...gulp! New Years resolution: stay on track!

xx

HAPPY NEW YEAR AMAZONS!

Hey! Where is every one...everyone.......everyone...........every one? (echos)

Ah well, I'll just post to myself.

My New Year's resolution/goal is to slowly get to 145lbs by April 1, 2009 (my one year CC anniversary). Also need to get back into a cleaner state of eating.

Anyone else make any health related resolutions? What does it say about me that I'm not only posting to a dead thread, but that I'm asking it questions?

Again, I wasn't around festive food or drinking and so wasn't affected. The New Year's arrival found me in the bathtub. Couldn't think of a better way to start it off than to be warm, relaxed, and totally clean.

5'11" and 151 today. Up 2lbs from last week (I think) and feeling bloated. My gut is huge! Ug. But all my clothes still fit, so I'm blaming womanhood...and maybe sodium. Yeah.

The toning tape I use is a Tamilee Webb (Buns of Steel lady) DVD called "I want that body" *giggle*. There are three types of exercise (abs, arms, buns) and two routines for each type. You choose. The workouts last about 15 minutes including light warm-up and stretching. I have been alternating the bun workouts and do them every other day after my runs. Lots of lunges and squats. Good stuff and not too complicated. Also appears to be affective since I feel a slight tension in my hamstring and glute muscles. But I plan to kick it up once I get the posture down and really make'em burn.

Hope everyone is well! And to the best of everything in 2009! (I have faith that you will all return to our beloved amazon thread).

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi Skookum!  You aren't alone anymore Smile.  I'm back.  I did better than I expected to over the holidays.  I absolutely enjoyed myself over the holidays eating what I wanted within moderation.  I spent two different nights with friends "grazing" all the wonderful food.  My hubby and I spent 5 days running between the parents houses, so we didn't get in much walking.  I am back up to 140, but I can live with that.  It was worth it and I will get it back off over the next few weeks.  My goal is still 133 and I have faith that I will make it there.  My jeans still zip easily, so I'm not too worried.  I saw several friends at Christmas and New Years that I haven't seen in months (or a year in one case).  One guy asked me whose body my face was attached to.  That was pretty comical!

Hello All,

Skookum, we're still here, just slow to resume our "normal" lives again after pretending that cheese logs and eggnog have no calories (I ate neither - my weakness has been mince pies and goat cheese on crackers)!

Well, I'm starting the new year at 195 *sigh*.  Thought for a few days there I was going to lightly touch 190 for the new year, but it wasn't to be.  Back to the routine on Monday, so hopefully that will include more reasonable proportions and no late night snacking.  I did well on the exercise, but the eating.... bah!

I'm not one for resolutions, but I do want to continue the trend I started in 2008 - into the dark months we go, when the weight has traditionally piled on instead of melted off.  Glad you are all there to help me through this tough patch.  Happy New Year!

Hi All-

I'm back on the wagon so to say again as well. I weighed myself this morning and am back up to 179.5 again after getting down to 174.5 right before Thanksgiving...

Anyway, Happy New Year to all and lots of good luck to all of us in our goals for 2009!

-Danielle

Hi ladies-

Hope everyone had great holidays! I am back to my house after being gone for nearly two weeks so I am ready to get back on track.  I didn't gain over the break but I didn't lose either. As of today, I am going back to weight loss calories which could be hard after this all this time at maintanence :)

CW: 159lbs

GW by March 27 (spring break): 145 lbs (or atleast holding steady at 150)

Resolutions- No caffiene or diet soda. Count calories strictly at least 6 days a week. Change my gym routine from steady state cardio to intervals and weights.

Good luck everyone in the new year!

happy new year ladies! yes I am back to reality with a larger bang than usual! Im starting back logging tomorrow morning and am looking forward to it. I'm back up to 130lb thats 4 extra, which im pretty sure is sticking because I'm up inches too. I ate pretty okay over the hols but drinking alcohol really notched up those calories! I'm optimistic about losing those 4lbs again over the next 5 weeks. And hopefully I jolted my metabolism and I wont have to cut so low to lose. My new years resolutions are;

a) Get back to 126 by Feb 14

b) Lay off on the sugarfree gum

c) Limit my scones for breakfast to twice a week

d) Aim for under 100g carbs per day & up my protein intake

e) Non diet related... spend more time on college work!

The break from diet obession was good & its always nice to know Im not totally engrossed in it but I cant wait t ge back to feeling healthy again!

Good news for me.  I weighed in this morning at 135.6....somehow I lost 5 lbs from Friday to this morning.  I even waited 30 minutes and weighed again.....and got the same weight.   My only explanation is I drank water like crazy yesterday (and hadn't been all week) so I got rid of some retained water.  I also walked twice on Saturday and did a lot of shopping.   Let's hope it is still gone when I weigh again on Friday!  This puts me back at my low weight that I hit right before Thanksgiving, so, officially, I did not gain ANYTHING during the holidays.  How the heck did that happen?????  I agree with Carol that hopefully the extra food jump started my metabolism so I can eat more and lose those last 3 lbs and then maintain.  I was worried that I was going to be eating next to nothing to maintain, now, I am not so worried!

OK then! The holidays are over and I'm officially ready to lose those last few pounds I decided to put off caring about. I have a feeling it's going to be a long and strenuous road but I'm to it. I need to get a tiny bit more junk off my belly before I am happy.

Hoorah!!! You guys came back!

Im back too!! I've been counting (but not logging) and exercising for 7 days now! Feeling good. I can see that im losing weight already. Not sure of the pounds yet because I dont weigh in until tomorrow and then after that I will start weighing in on Fridays with you guys as my official day. Starting back at 178/176ish. I know...Holy crap. I gained 10lbs in the last 4 months! But its a new year!!! Anything can happen :) Im back to swimming and walking and have decided to not log because it makes me absolute crazy lol. Unless I find I cant lose without doing it. Does everyone in here log?? Even on maintenance?? Just curious to see what the census is on that. Whats your thoughts on logging? Heres to 2009!

Happy New Year!  Finally back on the logging bandwagon.  Stopped logging at Thanksgiving and started again this week.  Weighed in at Jenny Craig on Tuesday and got my official half-way photos done weighing 230 (down 50 pounds).  My counselor gave me my before and half-way photos to post on the web (I have to give them back).  I did NOT see myself that heavy when I looked in the mirror!  Official Calorie Count weigh in isn't until tomorrow, but I start a new job after 5 months of unemployment tomorrow so thought I'd make this offer today:

I am ready to let go of the size 18 ultra-tall jeans and slacks.  Free to good home (you pay the postage).  If anyone can use them, I have black, black pinstripe, brown and 2 pair of tan slacks; two funky shades of green cords (they say 16 but they lie); light and dark blue jeans and a pair of faded black blue jeans.  My 16s are starting to have some wiggle room and with my "before" picture posted EVERYWHERE to remind me NEVER to do that again, I don't need to hang on to these anymore.  They are all from JC Penney - most are St. John's Bay - and I hate to donate ultra-tall pants since it is so hard to find the length in the first place.  If you want them, let me know!

Kris

Congrats Kris.  You are making awesome progress.  I understand on the JCPenney ultra-tall jeans.  That is what I always needed too.  I have noticed as I have approached my goal that I now only need the talls for the most part.  Weird.  I guess my leg fat and tummy fat were making them so round that I needed more length.  I have kept all of my jeans/pants in vacuum seal chests just in case....last time I lost weight I got rid of most of my clothes and then I slowly gained back.  I am determined to keep it off this time.  I figure if I have the old clothes around I won't need them!!  Good luck on the new job.

hello ladies! I'm back too!  I haven't gone away, really, but more i've just been silent lol.  I know this is completely dumb, but I haven't weighed myself since christmas day, when i was 152.  Up approx 3 lbs from my lightest.  I THINK I'm holding steady there, but I really don't know for sure but the clothes are still fitting.  I will start participating in friday weigh-ins again this wk.

Okiewoman & Krissbauer- congrats on being so fabulous, you are both inspirations!

To everyone else- lets put our gamefaces back on!  Amazons united for healthy weightloss in 2009!

I don't know what number I will see tomorrow, but whatever it is I know I can fix it.  If the clothes are still fitting it can't be too bad, right?!

alright I'll be back tomorrow!

xx

hi everyone!

i just joined this site and am looking for some extra motivation! this group's so perfect! I'm 5' 10" and currently 173lbs. I was at 185 at my highest and am on my way down, but slowly. Im looking to be at 150. Im going to be weighing myself on fridays because the weekends are the time I usually mess up my plan a little more than i would like to.

im looking forward to connecting with some other amazons!

Welcome to Nybanana, this is your perfect group everyone is very supportive, great with tips, and consolation and motivation for when you're fed up with it all. And Welcome back to all the other ladies, I hope you all enjoyed the holidays, we earned the break for those of us who took advantage of the season, as I did. I enjoyed it so much I went up to 130lbs. I'm back as of this week to 128lbs, which is good, all the booze is finally flushing out of my system, I have a few friends birthdays and nights out coming up so I am giving myself 1 month to get back down to 126lbs. I'm very busy with work and college so I'm finding it tough to get any exercise in so I'm hoping to do it mostly by lowering my carbs, which really helped me before Xmas, I've to be super vigilant with that though, because I just don't take a shine to protein/meat type foods, but I'm filling up on fish and prawns and egg whites these days. As much as I love my Moms food I am so much happier knowing exactly what goes into my food and having control over my calories. I'm a control freak haha. Anyways what a rant.

Good luck with weigh in today everyone. Hoping for 127lbs report next Fri!

Official Friday weigh-in:  SW 279.8 GW 180 CW 225 - 54.8 pounds lost, 45 to go.  First week back on track = 3 pounds off.  Whoo Hoo!

Kris- great job! What awesome results.

Nybanana- Welcome always great to see fresh faces.

Everyone else- glad we are all back on the forum ready to make some progress.

skookum- I am getting the I want that body DVD hope it gets here soon!

It was a good first week back for me. Got in all my workouts and managed to eat well. My microwave is broken and my landlord hasn't gotten around to fixing it so I am really thinking about how much i want to eat something before I make it since I'm using the stove and oven more. No actual pounds lost but i feel pretty thin this week.   SW 181 CW 159 GW 145
