Lauren in San Diego here (5'11'').  I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy.  I need to get back on the wagon.  I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150.  Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow.  I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated.  All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Welcome glindas.  It is great to see some new people that are working on losing.  It really helps to have people to keep you motivated.  It was a big help for me!

I haven't checked in in a while.  My weight is stuck at 158 with a 2 lb fluctuation from day to day.  I am going to the doctor tomorrow and I'm thinking about changing birth control methods to help with my weight loss.  I've been on the Depo shot for about 12 years now, and I've noticed that when I have taken small breaks from it, I have lost weight.  But I have been keeping up my workouts (4 days per week) and watching my calories.  Any suggestions for breaking through this plateau?

Thanks for asking. I am still stuck on 185. As of 2 days ago (monday). I decided to try to eat only my BMR which is about 1615 calories and eat some more fat. Stay tuned.

I have been stuck on 185 for a month and half now. Same calories and exercise. If you find out something that works for me let me know.

My second post; first Friday weigh-in.  Starting weight (before CC) 245.  Starting weight (with CC) 171.5.  Current weight 170.5, so I'm down a pound. 

Thanks for the welcome okiewoman.  I'm finding the food log and the analysis feature to be really useful on this site.  Does anyone else see extremely high sugar readings?  I don't know how it can be avoided when you're eating fruits and vegs and skim milk, which are all high in natural sugar.  The analysis says that I'm eating three times the amount of sugar that I should be!  Oh well, as long as I lose a bit of weight I guess it doesn't matter. 

Best of luck to anyone else who may be weighing-in today.

Hi Ladies - Well, I am officially back in weight loss mode.  I weighed this morning and I am at the top of my comfort zone....so, 5 lbs have to go, 10 would be better.  I have a 5 lb zone that I want to stay in, the extra 5 is for grins to see if I can do it Wink.  I don't think it will happen quickly, I have a houseful of people coming for the 4th of July, so while I can still choose wisely, I won't adhere to my strict diet while they are here.  I figure it is all about moderation and choosing my battles.  I will have a couple of adult cocktails hanging by the pool and enjoy myself. 

Caroline - You still around.  I am back to weight loss with you girl!

Everyone - feel free to tell me to go away if I get annoying!

Hi Okie, yip im still lurking around these parts!!How are you, I really get where you're coming from with the wanting to be under your happy weight. Last Fri i was 128 and so happy because I had a weekend of BBQs and Booze ahead, I had a fab time and wasn't too shocked to see the scale go up 8lbs until finally yesterday back down to 128lbs, i was drinking water like it was going out of fashion! But Im still on trying to lose calories, I feel like I will be forever unless I get my butt into serious fitness mode again, then I feel justified in upping the cals! I miss the old chickas here, Would love to hear from them, if anyone is lookin in, give us a shout!!

Hi Ladies,

Still hovering around 192.  It's a more-fat-less-muscle 192 than last time I was here.  Oh well!  I'm getting ready for a 3 week vacation... we'll see what THAT does to the scales! Undecided  I'm hoping my brain will decide it's time to kick into lose-it mode soon.  I've lost 15 lbs this past year.  I guess I have another year to go.  Having this stall will probably help when I get serious again.  It's nice to have not gained it all back again!

I weighed in at 159 this morning, so I gained a lb, but I am within my 2 lb fluctuation, so I'm okay with that.  I had a bone and body composition scan done at the doctor's office and my results compared to last years show a loss of 2% bodyfat, so I guess I'm headed in the right direction.  And I got off Depo, so I'm hoping that will help me drop some weight too.  Any of you out there had experience with any birth control without weight gain?

Vasectomy for my hubby....does that count???  Cool  It didn't make me gain any weight!

Canucker: Im sure you'll see a loss once you get Depo out of your system, it made me gain about 10lbs after one shot! eek, never again!!

I actually did depo years ago and also gained weight while I was on it.  The ease of not taking a daily pill was great, but the weight, not so much.

I would LOVE it if my husband would get a vasectomy! But he won't consider it.  Right now I'm just trying to research different BC methods and unfortunately most of them have weight gain as a side effect. 

On a better note, I worked out twice today and watched every single calorie so that I can have a nice big glass of wine with dinner tonight!  Very excited about that!

Hey ladies, I am still here. haven't been posting because I am not really losing. Good news is I'm NOT gaining which is great. Just moved home for the summer and have tried to stick with the diet and up the exercise as I now have plenty of free time. My mom has a great garden so looking forward to all the fresh organic veggies. Also eating quite a few free range eggs since mom has chickens too.

Yoga I feel you on the risks of vacationing while trying to lose. Going on vacation soon to Florida Keys then to New York then to Maine. Will make my way all the way up the east coast over about three weeks. Should be fun but am worried about weight since will have no way to weigh myself and always seem to gain on vacation even if I am walking everywhere and trying to make good choices.

 

Grrr to the tall girl joints!!! I was in a lot of pain after pushing myself too hard with my weight lifting and running so I decided to go to the gym and just focus on upper body to give the old knees a break. Of course I dislocated my shoulder lifting a giant weight 3 sets in. I have been in serious pain and had to take an entire week off from any exercise at all. It's really frustrating when I have only one more month to get into the most amazing shape I possibly can.

I didn't weigh in but since my pants still fit I assume I'm fine. Next time I weigh myself I'll probably have gained 15 lbs and will pass out.

Congratulations to all you losers. I am definitely jealous. You guys are inspirations.

Etah - Sorry to hear you are injured!  I know it is hard to take it easy when you have to.  Have you had your consultation yet?  I can't remember when it is/was scheduled for.

I am hopeful for a happy weigh in tomorrow.  I sweated my butt off this morning in the back of a semi trailer pushing beds to the end for the guys to unload.  That had to help, right????  I guess we will see tomorrow morning.

I'm pleased with my progress so far.  Starting weight (on CC) 171.5.  Last Friday 170.5.  Today 169.  But yesterday it was 170 so the weight jumps around of course.

Next week I'll have family visiting and it will be a miracle if I don't gain during that time.  We'll be eating in restaurants quite a bit, and even though I'll eat lightly I know that the gain is almost inevitable.  But I'll be doing a lot of walking also, so maybe I can manage to maintain at least.

Glindas - Good job.  You are headed in the right direction. 

I was down 3 lbs from last Friday.  That means that some of the darn water weight that had been hanging around for a while finally moved on!  Yeah for that.  I would like to go down about 8 more, but we will see.  I am not in any hurry.
