tall club 5'10'' and over ladies who want to lose 20-30 lbs... join me for weekly weigh-ins and motivation!!
Lauren in San Diego here (5'11''). I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy. I need to get back on the wagon. I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150. Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow. I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated. All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!
Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!
Hi ladies, just wanted to get back on track with the weekly weigh ins they are really helpful to me. 128lbs this morning, im sticking at this weight which im happy enough with, ideally Id like to get down to 126 or 125lbs but Im going out enjoying myself at the weekends and drinking more than I should to realistically attain that weight again, my birthday is in two weeks and Id love love LOVE to be down another pound or two so I can enjoy a nice 3 course meal guilt free. Im moving a bit more now the sun is out, Im not doing it really to lose or tone its more just to get outside and enjoy some fresh air so its not making much impact on my loss or gain, moderate walks really, Im going to try incorporate maybe 30 mins cycle every other day to get my heart rate stronger! My diet is going well, im limiting myself to under 100g carbs most days and I feel better when that plans out because inevitably I end up with more protein which is good for me!! anyway thats all my news, hope everyone is doing well. Has anyone noticed we've hit 1000 replies? Cool!

Hi Ladies,
I couldn't get to the computer on Friday for weigh in, but I lost 2.5 lbs from the week before! I was stuck there at the same weight for a few weeks, so hopefully I'm moving past that plateau now. On the downside, I fell and bruised my tailbone over the weekend, so my workouts aren't exactly dynamic right now.
BTW, how many calories do you all consume when you're in weight loss mode? I'm sticking to 1600 a day, and I read that I really should be consuming around 2000. I sit at a desk job 8 hours a day, I sleep 8 hours just about every night, I do about an hour of fairly intense cardio and am lightly active the rest of the time. Maybe I'm not eating enough?
Hi All, I won't be home to weigh tomorrow morning so I did it today. I am exactly the same as last Friday, which I guess is OK since i am in the middle of my happy zone. I still want to lose a few more......it will come. Patience right??
Canucker, most calculators put me at about 1400 a day, which is where I try to stay to lose. It works for me. I am 5'10". If you can lose on 1600 or even more, good for you. That is great!! I say the more you can eat and still lose, the better.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
Hi everybody. I'm down half a pound since last Friday, to 168.5. That's not too bad since I've been eating in restaurants a lot. I've been trying to walk many miles a day to increase my burn rate to make up for it. After the restaurant meals I've felt uncomfortably full, even though I chose the healthiest thing from the menu that I could. I'm just not used to eating that much food at once anymore, as my current eating plan is more like grazing, many small meals throughout the day.
Canucker, I range between 1400 and 1800 a day, with the average being close to 1600. Some days I'm just too hungry, and I have to eat up to 1800 calories. I'm losing though, but it's going slowly. My burn rate is 1750 when I don't do any exercise.
Hi girlies, well I weighed yesterday, just getting around to logging it now, 127lbs, so the scale is going in the right direction at last!! However, I had a late dinner last night and a glass of wine so this morning is another story altogether, Have to go to a BBQ tomorrow and I really dont want to ruin all the effort this week , wondering how little I can get away with eating without appearing rude to the host? Hope everyone is going well, Im hoping to be down another lb, or defintely not gain this week, as Im going out for a big Birthday dinner next Saturday!
id love it if you fellow tall ladies can spare some help :( i
m 5'9.5 , my CW:158 /GW: 140
and i have really broad shoulders and big bones (which is good for carrying around the weight lol)
i just cant loose any weight and its getting me so down, every day i eat 1200-1300 calories and by the end of the week ive lost no weight.I walk at least a mile every day and if i dont do that i go to the gym and do 10 mins rowing machine and 10 mins of cardio + some low weights for thigh/leg muscles.
This week i didnt cheat and i do record absolutly everything i eat. but i gained a pound and a half. This is driving me crazy as i used to be able to eat some treats and still gradually loose weight but these days i just cant whatever i do.Btw im 19 and i dont have any medical conditions.
HEY! I'm still on CC...but reached my low goal of 145 a while back and have just been maintaining that. So, I'd be a boring addition to this thread at this point. I still log almost every single day because I have a tendency to think I've eaten more than I have. I'm slowly raising my calories back up from 1700ish to 2200ish and plan to maintain between 145 and 150. Both weights look exactly the same on me, but I like having that buffer since 150 and 160 do not look the same on me. Weird dat.
I just peaked into the thread because I wanted to read up on everyone's progress and drop in a quick "hello"! Lot's of new members...very cool. And I'm very happy to see this thread still going. It really helped me stay motivated and reach my goal.
You Zons rawk!

Amber, you need to eat more honey. 1200-1300 calories is for a little old 5' 2" lady who sits and knits all day in bed. Eat a bare minimum of 1500. You could probably eat around 1800 and lose.
Eat more. Then you will see results.
hello, i am 5'11'' and want to lose 20 pounds. i am about 165 currently and want to make it to 140-145. i love to work-out, but i binge like you wouldn't believe. so, my goal is to eat healthfully and moderately.

Canucker,
I have been stuck on 185 for a month and half now. Same calories and exercise. If you find out something that works for me let me know.
UPDATE: wt 179.6
Well it's been about a month now and I finally got off my plateau. I have been eating 1600 calories and not really working out. I had extensive oral surgery, so not eating has not been a problem. Been drinking lots of protein shakes. Whereas I am happy to see the scale finally moving, I am concerned that I am losing muscle weight.
Hope all are well :)
I LOST ANOTHER 1.5 LBS! I'M SO EXCITED! I KIND OF FELL OFF THE GYM BANDWAGON THIS WEEK, SO I WAS WORRIED, BUT I HAVE BEEN EATING REALLY WELL, SO I GUESS THAT DID THE TRICK. 10 LBS TO GO TO BE AT MY GOAL. I AM GOING ON VACATION IN TWO WEEKS, SO HOPEFULLY THAT WON'T DERAIL MY EFFORTS TOO MUCH.
THIS IS MOTIVATION TO GET BACK TO THE GYM!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND LADIES!
hey all, I am back on this forum! It has been (way) too long since I've posted. Haven't weighed myself in awhile, will try to on Wednesday morning. I know that I've been slacking lately though. Need to get my s*It together though b/c I've been allowing waaay too many sweets and other indulgences. Bikini time is here and I don't want to be a big bloated mess!
I assume I am around 155lbs, want to be @ 145 lbs. Will post update on Wed.
Welcome back D!
Way to go Canucker!
I am hanging about the same, which I guess is OK since I haven't been terribly good on weekends/special occasions/etc. One thing that is driving me nuts is that since I started unloading semi loads of mattresses/frames at work, my stomach has gotten bigger. Everyone is telling me to start doing some crunches (for those of you that don't know, I am LAZY) to counterbalance the exercise I am getting pushing/lifting the beds. On a good note, my arms look a little better. We'll see how it goes. There's nothing like being in the back of a black semi trailer for an hour in the wonderful Texas heat!
Just wanted to check in around these parts, so glad to see everyone doing well!
For the last month or two I've been jumping between 145 and 155. I've always been a fluctuator! For the past three weeks I've been a solid 145-147, which has me quite pleased. I have to give credit to the 30 Day Shred even though the principal of the workout goes against everything I have ever learned about exercise. I seriously feel like I'm betraying someone by flinging around my 8lb hand weights but results ARE results. I've got quite a bit of definition happening in the arms, legs and abs. The short bursts of cardio have also translated into an improvement in stamina during my runs. I'm finding I can run faster for longer.
I still have a few pounds of fat that I'd like to get rid of and wish I'd had my BF% measured at regular intervals. If I can end up around 140 with lower BF% I think I will be set.
About 2 weeks ago I decided to really put some effort into losing weight. I started eating next to nothing and lost a fast 10 pounds, but now I want to get sensible, eat right and exercise. I joined this forum today and am so happy to find you all. I am nearly 6 foot, weigh 219. My target is about 160, so I have a long way to go.
I am going to try and real all of the posts so that I can get to know you guys a little better. I may have lots of questions. Growing up, I was always the tall, skinny girl, it shocked me that I got fat...
Sounds like you are doing great lindsayanne. Keep it up.
Welcome Mari! Feel free to ask all the questions you want, someone will usually jump in to offer advice or encouragement!
Hey guys,
this is a great post i have to say!! I am fairly tall, 5 ft 9, and currently weigh about 149 pounds give or take. 3 months ago, when i first joined CC i was sooo happy at 140 pounds but lacking motivation to stay that way as i started on a cycle of binge eating patterns....eeeek... got worse and here i am at 149 pounds and not happy with myself. It's terrible i think. And i have noticed that ever since my semester holidays from uni began that's when my binging really took off.
I find it that if i try to keep my calorie intake at 1200 a day, it's not a problem for me to lose weight. I can lose about a kg to kg and half in a week if i really want to. It's just the motivation and i would have to say control. But reading these posts really reminds me that i am not alone and there are women taller than me who are struggling but finding the strength, or trying to find the strength to get back on the bandwagon and reach their goals.
I'll be hitting this forum quite a bit :D
p.s. tomorrow i'm starting allllllll over again hahaha. cheers xxxx
Welcome Akica123. Are you exercising at all? If not, you might consider adding some. You can eat more calories and channel the things that cause you to binge into exercising. That's just what has worked for me, I'm by no means qualified to offer advice!
I think you'll find the ladies on this forum to be quite motivational. Seeing everyone persist through plateuas, gains and just plain life has really helped me.
On an unrelated note, I am finally starting to believe in vanity sizing. I ventured to the mall in hopes of finding some shorts for an upcoming camping trip. I started with 8s, then moved to 6s and finally had to take 4s and even some of those were quite roomy. I'm not a big person but I'm not a small person either!!! I'm 5'9.75" and 145lbs with 37" hips. This sounds strange, but I'm kind of upset about the small numbers, even though they are just numbers. In my mind, a curvy 6/8 has always been my womanly ideal. I'm now somewhat afraid to lose any more weight/inches for fear that I won't be able to find clothes that fit. My question is, where do actual small people shop?
I agree Lindsayanne! I have said the same thing to my husband a million times....I bought a skirt that was a size 4 and it was loose....I asked him how in the world small people buy clothes!
aw this thread is dying, so sad! We kept it going for such a long time! Oddly enough, most people love getting thin for summer, I dont think I look bad in a swimsuit, but really I LOVE fall clothes where you can be so put together, and I like being thin for that. Pencil skirts, tights, etc! I did it last yr, I will do it again!
