Lauren in San Diego here (5'11'').  I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy.  I need to get back on the wagon.  I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150.  Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow.  I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated.  All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!

Was it something I said?

Eek! Sorry okiewoman!  I didn't post last week because I was really busy!  I am hovering around 139, which is fine seeing as how I haven't been actively calorie counting.  So, I have maintained without much work, which is cool.

This week I am going to get back to counting and hopefully losing.  I am hoping for at least another 5 pounds, if not 8 or so.  We shall see!  It might be difficult as I am now working for an English school and am much busier than before.

Happy Friday ladies! No loss to report hanging out around 165. Heading home this weekend for my college homecoming and meeting up with a bunch of friends I haven't seen in awhile. Hoping to not do too much damage with all the food and alcohol.

Kbella congrats on getting a job!

Hi Ladies!

I haven't posted on here in 14 months Embarassed - it's great to see the list lives on!

14 months on, I'm still around the same weight, and I'm looking to up my exercise between now and the holidays, going from maintenance to loss.

Anyway, just saying Hi, and that I look forward to being inspired by your successes!

Kbella - congrats on the job and on maintaining without effort.  You go girl!!

Kate - Have a great time....no calorie worries while you are gone, just enjoy yourself!

Monkeyfish - welcome back.  I also need to add in some exercise.  I haven't been doing much at all.  My weight is stable (need to drop about 8 lbs to get down to my low goal that carol has inspired me to) but my measurments are going up, up, up and I can feel it in my pants.  So, that is what I know I need to do.....and maybe I will find the inspiration to actually do it!

Okie: Thanks! Exercise is generally the bit that saves me, especially on the weekends! I'm sure you'll get there in no time.

Hi ladies, sorry I havent been on in ages, my laptop is broken, never to be fixed :( Im on the search for a new one but lack of funds prevents any success really. My weight has just gone crazy, Ive gained about 5-7lbs and they truly are not going anywhere for the last month or so, I can get as up to 135lbs and go to 130lbs but the days of seeing 126lbs on the scales seems way too long ago. I'm thinking of upping my calories to maintenance which really scares me but Im moving to London Saturday and could do with the extra energy quite frankly, I cant really afford to gain much more though because my clothes are already really tight so Im totally confused and frustrated about what to do. Anyway could be worse. Hope you are all keeping the chins up and I will try to as well.

Hello!

I wanted to join in, too!  I am 5' 9.5"... currently 139 lbs.  I have a history with eating disorders so I'm trying to steer clear of finite weight loss goals (like by such-and-such a date) or even a goal weight, period.  But I know my current weight has a lot to do with periods of overeating so I'm hoping that with just normalized eating (1800 calories a day, eating every 3-4 hours, a good balance of macronutrients, blah blah) that weight will take care of itself...  even if that means maintaining my current weight, at least I will be feeling a lot better!

I'd like to also start exercising again!  It's been ages since I've done anything besides walk to the train and back.  Would LOVE to tone up and get some muscle definition in my legs and arms!

<3

Hey Everyone!

Carol, I'm sorry to hear about your struggles lately but judging from your photos I'm sure you look fab at 130.  Even your photos @ 140 you look very nice.  And lucky you, moving to London.  That is probably my dream.  If you decide you'd like to give the states a try we can swtich and you can have Boston, haha!

Kate- no loss is better than a gain, which I'm fairly sure I've got coming for me as soon as I get brave enough to step on the scale.

Lately I've been in some sort of self sabotage mode or something.  My shins have been giving me great problems so with the marathon so near I've been trying to rest.  As a result I thought I'd drop back the cals....or NOT.  Yesterday I went on a weird binge after work resulting in 2600 calories for the day.  I am going to Washington, DC for the weekend and staying with a girlfriend who is pretty fit.  Hoping to contain my calories nicely throughout the days so I can do some drinking at night!

Since it is Friday, I am checking in!  I am still hovering at 138-140...I never did get around to cutting my calories this week.  I've sick with a fever since Tuesday, so I figured I'd give myself my full caloric needs in order to get better.  I am feeling mostly better...my fever broke last night, thank goodness!  We have a trip planned for this weekend in Perugia for the chocolate festival, and I don't want to miss out!  It should be really fun!

Keep up the good work ladies and have a good weekend!

Glad you are feeling better KBella!  How was the chocolate festival?  That sounds like something I would LOVE!

I was near the top of my range on Friday morning, 137.6.  I am back on the wagon this morning and will make a good effort for the week and see how it goes.

The chocolate festival was GREAT!  We bought loads of chocolate to bring home, all of it dark (I don't like milk chocolate).  I also got an adorable mug for coffee/hot chocolate.  It was a lovely weekend!

I did eat a HUGE dinner on Saturday.  We did the tasting menu with truffles...we had a veal cutlet salad with truffles, omelet with truffles, fettuccine with truffles, veal with truffles and a delicious dessert of crema chantilly.  Yum!  I'm sure it made a dent in my calories, but we walked quite a bit this weekend!

kbella, I am so jealous your weekend sounds amazing!  Truffle dinner especially, yumm-o!

Okie- 137.6 is still a great weight for you, but I'm sure with you it will be off in no time!

I feel thin today, but of course I haven't weighed myself in quite awhile.  I've just been so tired lately in the morning I can't bring myself to do an AM gym session.  But this week I am requiring at least one to get a weigh-in.  Hopefully tomorrow!!!  My eating has been sub-par lately.  I go through such phases, but this week I am really trying to focus.  I think once I weigh in and see where I am it will be better.  Workouts are good, marathon is in T -27 days!!!  I've decided I'm going to attempt to run a Boston Qualifying time.  I don't know if I can but I may as well try!

Morning Ladies,

I too am jealous of kbella's weekend-chocolate festival yes please!

caroline- good luck with the move! Unpacking and setting up a new house involves so much moving around it will be good to have a few extra cals for energy.

danielle- what time do you have to get to qualify? You have been really improving with your speed it seems so I bet you can do it!

Okie - I will join you in the week of getting back on track. I am sure you will be back down Friday.

I have been kinda lax about calories since I went to homecoming last week. But I have kept up with my workouts 6 days a week so I am hoping the damage won't be too great when I get back on the scale.

Also this week I am quitting drinking diet soda. I never drank a lot just 12 oz in the am for my caffeine hit but I have decided I should not drink soda every day its just not good. So I have been getting up early since last Friday and making coffee before I leave. So far it has worked out well in that I seem to get enough caffeine not to get a headache and since it is getting colder the warmth is nice for my commute. Luckily I don't take sugar and just like a little cream or milk so I don't think it will up my calories too much.

I really want to lose a few pounds before I have to go home and see my family at Thanksgiving. Our whole family is really fit and weight conscious so my weight inevitably comes up and I don't want to feel like the fatty while I'm enjoying all the goodies.

Have a great rest of the week!

Good morning!

It's been a week since I posted here last...  I have lost one pound which I think is good!  I'm going for the slowly-but-steadily approach so I'm right on target.   I'm working on eating four meals and a smaller snack before bed, as evenly spaced out as a can.  I just want to keep my blood sugar steady, my tummy happy, and my metabolism pumping.

I am proud to say that I ran 2-miles, three separate times this past week!  My last two-mile run was yesterday, and it felt much easier than the first one.  It makes me happy to know that I can still do it!  I plan on staying with this amount for now... don't really want to overdo it, and it's takes about the amount of time I want to spend on cardio (30 minutes with a lengthy warm up and cool down walk).

That's all!  Like memphiskate, I too would love to lose a few pounds before Thanksgiving... it's far enough away that I'm sure it will happen!

See you next week! :-)

I actually managed to load 2 trucks at work today (have been stuck in the office for the last few weeks) AND I came home and did a new Turbo Jam ball workout.  I probably won't be able to move tomorrow....I haven't exercised in months!

Kate - You go girl.  I don't know how you can give up your diet soda.  It is my friend and I refuse to give it up.  Is it bad for me....probably.  Do I care, not in the least :).  I have one every morning when I get up to kick start my day and often have another one at lunch.  The rest of the time I drink water so it works for me.  I figure I lost 80 lbs while still enjoying my diet soda so what the heck.  As for eating, so far so good, of course I am only on day 2 of being good again.

KBTN - good for you on the loss and the running!  That is great!!

Danielle - I think you should just bite the bullet and get on the scale.  You will either see that you are on track and know that you can continue as you have been or you will see that you need to watch the snacks better (cuz you can't kick up the exercise, you are already a freaking running machine!!).

Well, lets start with the good news.  I did a TJ workout T-W-Th this week and went for short walks all three of those days (I have to get the dog back in shape before I can take a long walk with him).  Loaded up trucks one day and unloaded beds one day.  I also ate VERY well every day with no junk.  Now the bad news.  I am up one pound.  It's OK, I will continue to eat well and exercise and the scale will do what I want it to.....eventually.

How was your week ladies?

I was at 140 this morning, which is good, because I have been maintaining again this week.  My maintaining range is 139-140 at the moment, so that is fine.  I decided to maintain because I was still getting over being sick last week, which turned out to be the right thing to do because I caught something else.  I think I had some sort of strep throat last week that I got over all by myself, and then this week I have either a severe cold or a mild flu virus.  I have the stuffed up nose and hacking cough.  Gross.

I lifted weights once this week...and the day after my knee was hurting.  I don't know why that is happening, but I have stayed off of it the rest of the week.  It is feeling better, but it still twinges a bit.  We shall see how that goes next week.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Good morning everyone!!

Happy halloween :-)  I have a little pumpkin pin on my sweater today!

I have been sick with some sort of congestion/head cold thing this week.  It started on Saturday and I tried to ignore it for a while, but the past three days it has been awful.  I took a decongestant with pseudo ephedrine in it, which turned out to be a terrible idea!!  I didn't get ANY sleep the first night... maybe an hour total!  I ended up surfing on overstock.com and watching infomercials at 2am!

Anyway, I've had next to no appetite and this morning I weighted 136.2... down over two pounds.  Hopefully I will spring back after all of this is over!

Have a great weekend!!

How come I’m not losing weight?

Your workout routine is commendable but you are eating too many calories to lose weight. 1500-1700 calories a day is more like a maintenance... Read more
