Lauren in San Diego here (5'11'').  I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy.  I need to get back on the wagon.  I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150.  Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow.  I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated.  All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!

Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!

UGH. I am 160.  so not cool.  I did it to myself, I've been really hot and cold (mostly cold) with my eating, and my workouts consist solely of running.  I know this time of year is tough for a weight loss, but that is my plan.  I want to lose 10 lbs by Christmas/New years time.  150 is a happy weight for me. I have plans so I just need to stick to them.  I'll be posting more frequently as I will need support from everyone!

Plans:

  • schedule workouts, go to gym 2-3x a week in the AM to maintain records of weight.
  • plan daily meals, no stray bits of candy, food, etc.
  • plan drinking nights, and stick to lowest cal bevs possible.  avoid "drunk munches"
  • walk more! to and from work sometimes!

hiya!

my name is allora. Im about 183lbs 5'10". my friends tell me i look proportioned and that my weight doesnt fit the way i look but i know i can be smaller. My smallest was 172lbs in may 2008. I'm trying to surpass that.  I'm currently doing P90X. i usually run as well but due to finals i only have time for the dvds (which are intense and 1 hour long!!) I would like to be about 165lbs with a leeway of 3 lbs. But not less and no more than 172lbs. i'm my happiest then. I really need motivation! my eating is much better this week but I still have a ways to go, so far 6-7 days without sweets! i could use all the help i can get =)

good luck to all!

Hi Allora!  Sounds like you are doing really well so far, congrats!  Are you in college?  I know I had the toughest time maintaining my weight in school so well done on your efforts.

I'm trying to get down to 150ish (151-152 work) by Christmas!  Today I won't fit the gym in but I walked to a further train on my way to work, and I will be very conscious of my cals.  Tonight going to a Bruin's game in a box, no beer or alcohol for me, and NO cookies (they have the best cookies, but I will bring a Luna Bar instead)  Hopefully I will see 159 on the scale Saturday!

Hi ladies just quick check in from an internet cafe. I have moved over to London and am kind of settling in. Ive been here just over one week and have not weighed myself once. I am terrified to in fact, as the first day here I weighed in 137lbs, up a drastic amount. Anyway I figured that I have to be good to my body and get myself a break, not logging at all, so I have been eating at just below maintenance (I think) and although I am more active I defintiely have noticed it in my thighs which is odd as usually It goes straight to my belly. Anyway I have taken a huge step by promising not to weight myself for 2 weeks because I know seeing a huge intial gain (prob 140s again) will make me restrict further and its not the best for me. Im still squeezing into my clothes, def tighter though, but thats my update for now, hope everyone is doing well, keep your fingers crossed for me finding work here and not gaining much more. Good luck all.

C x

Welcome Allora (I love your name, it's a word in Italian, but I assume you know that Smile)!

dplatzer:  I'm sure you can make it to 159 on Saturday!!! Keep up the hard work!

carolally:  No worries about the gain!  Stress from moving is difficult!! I'm sure you will be back down in no time!  Also, I will cross my fingers that you find a job (I'm also on the hunt here in Rome...it's difficult!)

I will weigh in tomorrow.  I think I am still in the 139-140 range.  We shall see!

Welcome Allora!  You have found a good bunch of ladies if I do say so myself Wink

Carol - I think you are doing the right thing....take it easy and listen to your body.  If you are up when you weigh, you know what to do to get back where you want to be.  Good luck on the job hunt.

KBella - Did I miss something?  I thought you had found a job.  Maybe I am delirious from lack of nutrition, ha!

Danielle - I am with you on being back in the game.  I just realized that I am going to Mexico in just over 2 weeks!!  Urgh!  I will be fine and will wear my bathing suit no matter what, but really, losing a couple pounds would be great!!  I have been SOOOO bad this week that I am scared to step on the scale tomorrow but I will, I need the slap in the face.

Wow, Okie, I am super jealous of your upcoming trip- that is DEF motivation to be good!  I always feel bigger in a swimsuit when I'm pale than in summer too.  I bet the scale won't be as bad as you think.

Kbella- you seem to be the queen of maintaining, even with truffle dinners, fab chocolate weekends and life in Italy.  What is your secret!?!

Carol- {sigh} it really stinks to not be where we want to be.  My clothes just barely fit me, my stella jeans that I bought last year are QUITE tight and uncomfortable.  I just need to remember these facts when presented with tempting treats.  And london, can I just reinterate how much I envy you!?  I went home last weekend and was talking to my parents and they were really encouraging- I want to move to London (or Madrid) in about a year or so and they were just telling me to go for it, do it while I'm young, etc.  So we may be neighbors in a bit!

Hey all!  My name is Melissa.  I am a mother of two.  My son Jensen is 10 months and my daughter is 4 years old.  I have battled with my weight my whole life.  I currently weigh in at 188 pounds.  My goal weight is 160.  I am 5'10 and 1/2 and large framed.  I have started my weight loss journey again this week.  So far so good!  :)  I am looking for friends for some motivation.  Please add me as your buddy and shoot me an email.  It would be great to stay in contact!

Welcome to the group Melissa!  Give a shout when you need encouragement, need to vent or want to brag.

No! You are not crazy! I found a job as an English teacher, but it is only in the evenings.  I am still looking for something more, shall we say, permanent and full time.  I am more or less just teaching to make some money until I get a "real" job :)

Welcome Melissa!

So, I weighed in today at 139.8.  I will say, I do like seeing myself in the 139s instead of the 140s...I know it's not a huge difference, but it makes me happy :)

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Morning Ladies! Welcome new posters!

Danielle- How are the shins any news from the Dr?

Okie- Mexico how exciting where are you going?

Carol- Hang in there I bet once the stress of moving is gone your weight will settle back down.

I have had a horrible horrible horrible week of dieting- Great with exercise BAD with diet. Note to self you do not need to eat pizza when it is free at school. I am up two pounds and it is my TOTM so I really just want to eat an entire bowl of chocolate. I have plans for a 12mile run/hike tomorrow so at least that will keep me in line tonight. Next week I will do better!

I am exactly the same as last week.  I will take it I guess since I did indulge 4 days in a row in my boss's leftover halloween candy that was sitting in my office.  I didn't even try to resist.  I was BAD.  Oh well, today is a new day and I will do better.  I sent the rest of the candy home with one of the guys so it won't be there to tempt me next week.  Didn't do much working out this week either.  My knee has been bothering me so I took it easy.  I did unload about 50 pieces yesterday and went for a couple of walks.

Kate - pizza is fab isn't it!!  I indulged in a lovely slice myself last Friday night.  It was really good.  Oh yeah, and a piece of cheese covered garlic bread.  Oh my.  You and Danielle with those long runs, impressive ladies.  We are headed to Cabo.  We have been down there a few times at Thanksgiving and really enjoy it.  While you guys are eating turkey and dressing, I will be eating fish tacos with my toes in the sand Innocent.

I didn't weigh in this week. I was gone for a couple of days (i'm in australia by the way) I've just been doing some shopping for the fam. today wasn't a good food day. didn't really have sweets but i had chips and a few other unnecessary foods. tomorrow will be better! much much better! I'm actually scared to weigh myself. I never get happy results =(

Welp last week went great!  Until the weekend.  Yuppers I ate out a bunch.  Oh well it was my last big "blow out".  I am back on track in full force today!  :)  How are you ladies doing??!!

Good afternoon ladies, well I did it, I gave it two weeks (and suprised myself by my willpower not to check for so long) today I weighed in, not good. I am now the not so happy owner of an extra 10lbs from my lowest weight. That's 135lbs looking back at me, and the batteries are new. Measurements are all up too so I dont know if I can shrug it off as waterweight either. I'm hoping and praying that its as high as I go and my body will just begin to accept the extra food Im giving it but who knows, aiming for 5lb loss by Christmas though, anyone with me?

Ahhh Carol.  I'm sorry.  I know exactly how you feel.  I am with you, I would love to get off 10 by Christmas, but I'm not naive enough to think that will happen.  I'll take 5.  We can do it.  Hang in there!!

Sorry I didn't post on Friday! I had a crazy weekend.  My aunt was in the ICU for blood clots in both of her legs, and it was iffy that she was even going to be okay due to intense fluid build-up in her abdomen post surgery (she had had a kidney removed due to cancer and they also looked in her intestines as well).  She isn't out of the woods yet, but she is doing better.  In any case, that plus the fact that my father-in-law was feeling really sick this weekend (chemo), so we went out to see him.  So, I really did not have CC on the brain until yesterday.

In any case, I weighed in today at 138.6!  I am so excited!  Two days ago, I was at 140, and after 2 days of counting and focusing on my water intake, I am down 1.4 pounds!  Yay!

I am with you both on losing 5 pounds by Christmas!  I would LOVE to be under 135 for my "wedding" on Jan 2nd!

We can do it!

kbella, so sorry to hear about your aunt and father-in-law, you were right to takea break from this to focus on family.  As for your weight, great work, I think its definitely possible for you to be at 135 for the wedding.

I am doing quite well these past two weeks with the eats, and working out when I can.  I am in the process of moving (across town, into a really downtown part of the city).  Let me tell you, moving up and down tiny flights of stairs in boston is quite the workout, as is the work of uppacking, and painting.  So hopefully I'm covered there.  My marathon is this weekend, unfortunately I found out last week that I've got stress fractures (tiny hairline fractures) on both of my shins, so that is what the deal was with all of the pain I've been having.  My doctor essentially is prohibiting me from running but I am still going to give it a go.  If I feel lots of pain I will drop out, but I need to try.  Its something thats really upsetting me though, after all these months of training, and seeing my times improve in stride, then my two bffs qualified for the Boston marathon, which was my goal as well.

I've not weighed in since Halloween, when I was 158.  I believe i'm around that now, possibly 157.  I am going to my parent's house this week and will weigh in on Saturday, and every other day as well.  I trust their scale, plus I can use it first thing in the morning like I like to do.  I am aiming to be low 150s by Christmas, and 150 by New Years day.  We'll see, this is dependant on what I see on saturday.

Hope you are all well.

Danielle
