tall club 5'10'' and over ladies who want to lose 20-30 lbs... join me for weekly weigh-ins and motivation!!
Lauren in San Diego here (5'11''). I was up to almost 180 lbs at the end of last year and I lost about 10 pounds during Jan-Feb and then got lazy. I need to get back on the wagon. I think I weigh around 170 and I would like to be 150. Weigh in on Fridays for me starting tomorrow. I would love to chat with others who have similar stats and goals to stay motivated. All my girlfriends are little petites, I need some amazon love!!
Let's look hot and healthy this summer!!!
cvob, im so jealous, i would love to visit Hawaii, in fact id love a holiday anywhere right now, ireland is nice and all but id love some sunshine to look forward to, and im guessing a week or two in a bikini would be some motivating factor!
dplatzer: the only reason im doing well is bcos my social life is pretty much non existent at the moment as im trying to save money for dental treatments and car insurance and boring sensible things at the moment, coming into july and august though ive a lot of social events like weddings and birthdays so if i can be as strict with my diet and exercise as you during those ill be very happy indeed.
Today, I faced a challenge, I had no food in the house for dinner so I had to go to the store on my way home from work, I always plan my meals ahead and knew i had no food but id planned on just having some oatmeal with apple, but id to get milk, I swear I had the biggest craving for a chocolate bar, a really naughty one like a kingsize snickers or something, I practically ran out of the shop with my milk, so proud I came home, had my oatmeal and a low fat hot chocolate for dessert. I guess i knew i wanted to be 135lbs by friday more than the chocolate.. still I would kill for some though :(...
Good Morning! I'm off to a good start today. I had paper due for a class I'm taking and spent most of last night writing it. I ahve to give myself a little pat on the baqck. I didn't snack to relieve my stress as much as I would have in the past. And I stayed with in my calorie allotment for the day. I hope everyone is having a good morning. Kim
Great job Carol on resisting the chocolate! Dont it make ya feel good? I resisted "dirt cake" yesterday (chocolate on top of chocoalte cake, so good!) at a coworkers birthday and had my diet root beer instead. After that, I felt like I could conquer the world :P
And good job to you too K11, we are getting better at this every time we say no and keep our discipline. Its so easy to get off track, but anything thats worth it takes work.
Welp, I am holding my breathe for weigh in tomorrow! My usual weigh in days are monday and I met my goal for the week already but its still exciting. We'll see!
Hey Ladies! Just got back from a 6 mile run which makes me feel good :) (I am training for a marathon in november!) I am starting to get back on track after last weekend...still dreading weigh-in tomorrow!!
Meg, It sounds like you are doing GREAT! Just saw your counter on your profile and 164 is awesome. Keep up the good work and you will keep seeing success.
Carol, good job on the chocolate resistance. You motivated me today when I went to the store! I went in to get whole wheat pasta for dinner, which is in the cookie isle. I grabbed my pasta, and it was like I had tunnel vision, I didnt even LOOK at the cookies, soo proud!
Good luck on weigh-ins tomorrow everyone! I am planning on having gained five pounds so anythign less will be a semi-success.

Morning Ladies!
Friday, already? Yay!
So, I'm down 0.8kg from last week, but I was also on medicine that makes you retain water back then. If I compare my weight today to my weight a few weeks ago before the medication and bloating, i'm down 0.2kg (0.44 lbs). My body fat is still sitting around 33-34%, so no real change there. I got in a few good weights sessions this week, though, and I'm feeling pretty good about things.
Good luck to everyone!
Beth- You'll just have to come visit! Why were you in PNG?
cvob- Where in HI are you going?
Carol- The big day is almost here, and you're nearly at goal! I find it easier to stay on track when my social life is quieter too, but think of all the good habits you're picking up for later, like not putting that Snickers in your cart. My fingers are crossed for Saturday- have a wonderful birthday!
Kim- Congrats on finishing your paper. I used to always snack a lot writing papers, which is so awful for you! Looking forward to weigh in?
Meg- You are a badass.
Danielle- All that running has to go somewhere, maybe tomorrow's weigh in won't be so bad! Worst case, you'll have a great weigh in next week!
Morning ladies, well like monkey fish, its Friday morning weigh in time on this side of the world, I'm now down to 134.4, so im down just over ten pounds since I started at the end of April, So yay i'll be celebrating with some Wine and bday cake this weekend, im not counting Sat and Sunday, even though Ive a dentist visit Sat (nice present for me) so I wont really be cheating too much.
DPlatzer: Good job on the run, Ive been only able for 4 miles for the last two months and I really could push myself up to 5 miles over the next month, if I could get some motivation, so get onto me about my progress there, that ought to get me going!
Good luck to all the amazonians this week and have a fab weekend!!
Good Morning tall ladies! :)
Looks like we are making some decent progress this week!
Well I am really bloated this week because I missed a birth control pill. Yuck. But this morning I was down 2.2 lbs from fridays 166.8-Saw 164.6 on the scale this morning. So excited to see that number!! Im hoping to be 162 next week.
Dplatzer-Nice going on the 6 mile run! Cant wait to see how you weigh in this morning.
Monkeyfish- Some weeks ya just kinda hover and then suddenly the weight just drops off. At any rate I think a 1/2 lb is pretty good when you're liftin weights because you gain muscle doing that. And thanks for callin me badass Im pretty sure that made my day lol :D *beaming*
Carol- I hope you have a very Happy Brithday weekend--calories dont count on birthdays! :P & congratulations on the loss. Man I cant WAIT to be 134...may never happen but you look great! I love the new pics.
Happy Friday Tall Ladies!
I am so excited to post! I weighed in this morning at 154.5 ( I don't usually count .5 lbs but that brings me closer to 140s than the 160s which makes me happy :)
I want to congratulate all of you who made progress this week! Even staying steady is great!
Monkey- being sick and on crazy medicines makes it really difficult to measure whats going on, but it sounds like you are doing quite well! Keep up the progress and the weights and you are sure to see that body fat melt away!
cvob- Enjoy your vacation, I am sure you will look great! Lots of fresh seafood in hawaii too, yum!
carol- Its so great that you met your goal by your birthday! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, which I'm sure you will! As for the running, I would be happy to help you. I honestly feel its like 90% mental. Maybe pick up a book about running or read an article or two about the benefits and before you finish it you will be ready to charge out the door! Since you've met your goal, it would help you stay steady where you are at.
Kim, I know how stressful school can be, esp. with papers and deadlines! Good job finishing it, maybe since you held off on snacking you could reward yourself in other ways like
Meg- you are doing great! You have had quite a loss, keep up the good work!
Have a great weekend everyone! THanks for the support.
-Danielle
Danielle- I am so excited for you that you are 154! Thats GREAT! You were all afraid you would be 160 again. I bet you feel like a million bucks right now! :)
Friday Weigh-in
5'11"
157.5! Down .5lbs from last week. I've been stuck bouncing between 160 and 157 all week.
And I'll be weening myself off CC for 3 days during a camping trip. Can't wait to see how I do.
I won't be able to read your posts until I get back, so GREAT WEEKEND to everyone!
Jules
Hi girls!
I haven't posted since my intro a week and a half ago or so.
I had a rough week. My 6 yr. old had tonsils and adenoids removed last Friday.
The In-Laws decided to come for a visit. My husband and I are drained, but my 6 yr. old is back on track and feeling good!
I'm still holding on at 164 lbs. No gain, yet no loss either- I can handle that.
I do have an issue that is concerning me- I've started having irregular bleeding/clotting for the last 13 days. I'm not due for my monthly yet, and this is very irregular for me. Have any of you noticed anything similar while dieting/ working out?
Thanks, and Congrats to all! I hope to chime in next Friday!
Hi all! Sounds like a lot of success! Great job!

My weight was all over the place this week..up to 166.6 but fortunately down today! Go figure. Water weight. Hubby made brownies and I'm not going near them! Way more fun to see that scale go down. Yay us!
2lilguys: holding steady at 164 is not bad at all! At least you're not gaining! Hang in there!!! I hope your bleeding is nothing bad! The only thing I noticed is that my period is even more irregular than it was. I have never been completely regular, but since I started working out consistently, my period is all over the place.. not sure if this is "normal" but it hasn't affected me in any other aspect of my health...it's always best to go see the doc though if it keeps up! Good luck!
So I just weighed..I was running late for work this morning so I forogt..oops..and my weight is...
184.4! so that is down 1.4 pounds since Monday morning!!!!
I was excited!! (still am..hence all the exclamation marks)
I am about to go eat mexican food with some of my amigos though...but I plan on getting the chicken fajitas and just eating the grilled chicken and veggies. I've only had 600 cals today so far so as long as I don't go crazy tonight things should end nicely for the week :)
other exciting news..I am wearing this skirt that I haven't worn in two years and it looks good on me!! yay! I tried it on a couple weeks ago and was not pleased, but today I am supa happy with the way it looks!
sorry to ramble on and on..I am just happy!!!
Have a great weekend girls and stay focused!!!!

I was kend of bumming about not losing any weight this week, but then I looked at how much I have lost since I started doing this and it's not so bad. I just have to get back on track with my exercise.
I'm still trying to keep everyone straight, but it sounds like evryone is staying positive and doing well!
Kim
so glad i found you guys. hey all. congrats on all your progress. very inspirational.
I'm 5'10"turned 34 on last sunday.i was very happy to have reached my short term goal of 185. i'm in brooklyn new york. i have a 10 month old and i just finished an mfa program. when i met my husband i weighed 150. so i have relationship weight, plus, grad school weight, and baby weight to lose.
i have a small frame. i guess... according to cc. perhaps because i always felt like a giant i thought i had a large frame. i was 125-140 in my early to mid 20s. but i look good at 150.
so my sw 205 cw 184 gw 150.
i have these leather pants that have not fit me since i was 26. i would love to get into them again.
today i had a great day at the gym. burned over 1000 calories. so i ate an extra 350 calories. my problem is consistency.
Hi ladies...
So no movement on the scale yesterday..164 annd hanging around...but I am optimistic as I am toning up nicely still!! Went shopping for a new vacation swimsuit yesterday and found on that I love and a great motivator...AND it was on sale!!!!
Heading to a wedding this evening...will try and resist the booze and cake! YIKES!!
Congrats on all your successes....hope to be one next Fri with you all!!
Tall love,
CB
I'm 5'10", I weighed myself today and I'm 147Lbs. My goal is to get to around 130, or until I like how I look ;) It might sound low, but it is definately reasonable for my age.
I take ballet classes from September until June, and I've always been the chubby girl in class. I might look okay for real life, but I need to tone up in order to fit in for ballet.
I've tried TurboJam, and really enjoyed it, but had to stop a few weeks ago in order to focus on exams. I plan to do at least 45mins of turbo each day, and eat healthily (which should be easier now that it's summer and I actually crave healthy food).
I can't wait to keep you all updated, and read your updates!
welcome to vik and all the other newbies, congrats to everyone on their losses last week and to those who havent its a brand new week!!! I had a great weekend, ate way too much on sunday and drank way too much on saturday but i dont care It was my bday!! so I'm expecting to see a gain of one pound when I weigh in tomorrow, but im really hoping ill have it lost again by our Friday weigh in!
How do you all react to people's response to your weight loss? I was out with all my friends who I hadnt seen for a while and they were commenting and I get really embarrassed and Dont know quite what to say... a nice problem to have I guess.
Okay, so new mini goal.. 133lbs by July 11th!
Good luck to everyone this week!
welcome vik! We don't judge by goals, everyone had a different frame, and according to BMI someone 5'10'' is within healthy weight range down to 125, and with doing ballet of course you would fall on the lighter side of the scale! good luck with your goals! Just to get you acquainted, we usually do weigh-ins on fridays for this thread, but many of us (including me) like to do daily weigh-ins so we don't get off track!
CVob, good luck at that wedding! ANd if you have a glass or two...or three!! of wine, don't worry about it too much, I think the cake is probably a worse culprit. But I think what is important to remember is that calorie counting can't control your life, or it won't be fun. I think its better to have maybe 1-2 bites of cake, enjoy it and be able to put it down. And also to have a glass of wine or so. Makes it easier to reach the maintence phase too, because it would be quite difficult to live without FUN for the rest of your life!!
Carol, I would love to have your problem! Sometimes people make me a small comment, but I feel I still need to loose about 5-6 lbs before others really notice (damn being tall!!). Anyhow, I like your idea of a 2-3 lb mini goal by the 11th. I am 154, with a goal of 150 by the 12th. I know that sounds like a bit much, but the running has really cranked up the past week. I will do 25 miles this week, and 27 next week, with a day each week of cross training. I think if I do a smart job with the food and supplement with that exercise it is possible?
Everyone else, enjoy the manic monday!!! gossip girl tonight!
-Danielle
Ok ladies, to be honest, I fell of the wagon last week. To the point on not counting my calories at all or exercising. I had a 2 day trip to Chicago and then a bachelorette party weekend for my best girlfriend. On Friday, I hadn't gained. Still at 170. I am getting back on track this week. Any advice on how not to fall off track when you have a lot of social gatherings??
