Any tall dieters out there?

I've been browsing through these forums for awhile, and it seems to me the majority of people are on the lower side of 5'. I was just curious if there were any other tall people out there looking to shed a few pounds. I'm 5'10" 168 lbs.

I'm 5'10, currently at 205 trying to get down to about 156 :D

Hi there, I am CC'ing to maintain.  I am almost 6 feet, between a healthy 137 and 140. (very small frame)

6'4" 184. counting in order to ensure i'm getting enough healthy calories to run about 7-10 miles a week, cardio-weight train 3x's a week, and bike 4-15 miles a week.

I'm 5'9.5, aiming to lose my last 10-12 lbs - currently at 140 after starting off at 242lbs just over a year ago :)

I'm 6ft tall, cw: 164 and goal is 145 - 150lbs.

  Just started CC seriously last week to work on adjusting my calorie intake and make better choices to push for weight loss...trying to drop 10lbs by June 6th if possible (Friends Bachelorette Party - a River Trip...so swimsuits all wknd -YIKES!) I have been back at the gym toning with weights and doing various cardio workouts for several months and it is just seems like such slow going on dropping the lbs. 

Sooooo.....I am hoping this goal will be motivation. :) 

I'm 5'10", cw: 162; gw: 145. 

I have 145 as my goal weight, but I'm not really obsessed with the number.  I feel like I could lose another 15 lbs or so and still be healthy, but health is the number one concern for me.  I do plan on lifting some light weights in addition to my time on my recumbant bike, so if I gain muscle (which is very easy for me) then I won't cry about the number on the scale.

I lost about 15 lbs about a year ago, coming down from about 175.  I've since been working on my master's and some other stuff, so I haven't been as dedicated or active as before.  I've just got back on board the train and looking to stay motivated.  Now that I'm eating healthier (only for the last 2 weeks or so) and working out, it seems like I'm putting on some weight. It could just be because I'm drinking more water.  Those scales just like to mess with you.

 Wow!!! Congrats on all of your weight loss.  You are quite a motivation.  You go!!!  Do you have before and affter pics you could share????

Sure there are a bunch of us tall folk!!  As for myself, I am 6'7" and 353.  But that's down from my all time high of 650ish!! CoolCoolCool

Just some random info below;

I once dated a really tall guy (seriously almost 7 feet) for a couple of years but he never told me his weight. 

I'm 5'8" and 182 right now.  I'm slowly and painfully crawling my way down to 150.  I've only lost about 8 pounds since I started in January, but definitely some inches. People are starting to notice but still the slow crawl has been tough!

I'm 5'11" and 232- aiming for 180 (larger frame).  When i was 200 i looked great :) 156 seems kinda low- is your frame generally small/slender? (i'm just used to thinking about it in terms of me :) )

Currently 163lbs, aiming for 150lbs, down from highest weight: 219lbs


I'm 5'9" and hovering around 175, down from my high a couple of years ago of 205.  I have a small frame and I'm aiming for 140, but I'm trying not to stress about how long it takes me to get there.

ooohhhhh I am loving all the tall people! Wish we could get together and do team sports! We'd kick booty!

I'm 5'11 and 155. I'd like to lose 10 lbs. if I could. But it's been incredibly difficult. I'm a size 6/8 dress and pants ... is that a medium frame? a smallish medium frame? I would love to be a size 6 pants comfortably. I'm currently eating 1600 to 1800 and working out 4 to 5 times per week. Am I trying to push my body into something it's reluctant to do? Does anybody have any advice?

Hey cabialo! I have similar stats although I am a bit heavier (162). I would also like to get down to about 145 and fit easily into a size 6. Perhaps we could  help to motivate each other since we seem to have similar goals. Reply or send me a message if you're interested!

YAY a board for us tall people.  I'm 6'0" tall and am about 265...*ugh*

I am looking for some WL buddies to bounce ideas off of and support each other.  I would like to get down to about 160 (I have a small frame) and need to get back down for the sake of my health and sanity! :)

im 5'8 and 126 ..all together ive lost a little over 50 pounds. Now im just mainly looking to tone up and  maybe lose a couple more pounds.

I'm 5'8, trying to drop my last five pounds! =D

I'm almost 5' 11" and I weigh about 155 lbs...and I'm hoping to weigh 135 soon...well, slowly so it's more healthy and more likely to stay that way. :)
