Tall Girls in their 20s.

Quote  |  Reply

Hi there, new here. Looking for more girls like me, tall and in their 20s, to chat with and keep tabs on each other!

I'm 6' even, 228lbs as of a week and a half ago. I've just recently started wanting to watch my weight. Two years ago I was 190, but I was half starved and depressed.

My first weight goal is to loose about 28lbs. Then I'll see from there where I'd like to go. I'd rather take small goals, ones I know I can achive.

So let me know if anyone else out there is like me! Tall and wants to loose!

I'm 5'6 - not exactly very tall as compared to the Caucasians, huh. >_< I'm pretty tall for Asian standards, though.

No matter what, don't starve yourself. Starving leads to a billion problems and weightloss will never be fun and meaningful.

I'm 5'9 & 211. I started this thing weighing 225. I'm struggling but trying very hard. My goal is to lose 60 lbs!

I'm 5'8" and 175. Started out at 189 last year, dropped to 160, and got off track. I'm 22 with 2 kids. My best advice is to exercise and eat healthy when you're hungry. Now, if I could only follow my own advice and exercise!

Hiya

I'm 6'1" and I'm on here as I'd like to lose half a stone ahead of my best friends wedding in March ....where I'm bridesmaid and I've got to wear a skimpy dress!

I have fat thighs & knees. The rest of me is ok Laughing Never been on a diet before, weight has gradually increased during my 20's. (am now 28).

Any tips for exercise anyone? I already do a fair bit as I own two horses that I have to muck out daily, and ride when its not raining!

Hi!

I'm 5'10", 26 years old, and 174.  I have been focusing on portion control and eating 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day.  Basically, I don't really eat meals... it just feels like I snack all day!  However, it seems to be helping so far.  I think I've shrunk my stomach, which is good, right?!

I have 3 kids, so I have a little bit of an "exercise" advantage by getting to chase them around.  Other than that, it's hard for me to find the motivation to work out... do any of you have that same problem?  If so, what do you do to get motivated?

Hey

I am 26 years old and weigh in at 240 pounds.  I am 6'4" and love to eat.  I have two kids, the youngest being 9 months old.  I am trying to loose the baby weight as I am not going to have any more children.  I just find that all the extra weight is too hard on my body.  I have just recently moved closer to my mother in law so I will have more time to dedicate myself to this task!

My goal is to loose all the weight by next summer (sooner if I can) as I will be MOH on my sisters wedding.

Motivation is hard for me too.  I just find one excuse after another.  I aslo have a sweet tooth that is very hard to say no to.

I'm 29 and 5'10" and currently 184.   I recently went back to school and started taking the birth control pill, so in the past 2 years I have gained around 25 lbs.  I've started doing calorie counter and exercising 5 to 6 times a week, cardio and weight training 1/2 hour to an hour a day (I freelance right now so I can fit it in).  It's been about 2 weeks so far I have not seen ANY results.  I'm currently on 1,500 calories a day.   How many calories are you other tall ladies on?

I'm 24 and 5'8" and currently 141 (down from a high of 170).  I am a small frame, especially considering my height, and I am aiming for 125.  I am doing 45 min of resistance/weight training 3 days a week and cardio for 45 min the other 4 days.  I am eating 1300 cal per day.  From what others have told me 1300 cals is low but whenever I increase them I gain weight so 1300 is what I have stuck to for a little over a year now.

I'm 22 years old, 5'9'' and 145 lbs.

I just joined this thing, not sure how often I will be on- but it is nice to see that others are going through this too. Especially because we are all tall ladiessss :)

I am trying to lose about 15 lbs...

I was about 135 this summer...gained almost 20 lbs... lost about 10! Needless to say, my body had been crazy in the year of 2008! I am really trying to get back to a size that feels right.

My problem: I struggle to work out, meaning I don't work out AT ALL. Hopefully I will start doing a little something. Right now I am just being mindful of my caloric intake. I have been told it's 80% what you eat and 20% working out.

I would love tips and to keep this thing up!

struggles: eating at night! i am a snacker... most of my calories are at night! any suggestions???

i LOVE coffee (hince the name) is it really that bad for me?

hi lades :)  i'm about 6 feet and 3/4 of an inch and have been dieting on and off and losing weight for about 5 years now (started at 237).  my low was last may at 154, but then my grandfather died, i went home for the summer and ate out a TON with my boyfriend, started school again and partying, and then winter break home eating my mom's food again absolutely killed me!  so now im back up to 166 but determined to get down below 150, about 148ish i think would be good.  i just started again yesterday.  so anyway, my stats...

age:  20

height: just barely under 6'1"

current weight:  165

goal weight: 148

current size: a tight 8

i'd guess that i have a small-medium frame.  my wrists are small, but then again i have super long fingers to wrap around them lol.  i have broader shoulders, and wide-set hips tho so i definitely don't think im quite a small frame.. my body shape falls somewhere between apple and hourglass. everythings pretty much all proportionate, except i have major issues with the tummy, especially the lower tummy pooch (so gross!).

right now im doing a mix of the slim fast and special k diet.. special k for breakfast with coffee, a slim fast bar as a snack, a slim fast shake and salad or small sandwich for lunch, fruit in the afternoon, and a healthy dinner.. sometimes a light snack in the evening if i get really hungry (its so hard not to eat around my 3 thin roommates who eat junk like all the time).

im aiming to eat 1300-1500 calories a day from sunday to thursday (600-800 calorie deficit), about 1800 on fridays (300 calorie deficit), and have a 0 calorie deficit on saturdays and eat 2100 calories.

im not sure exactly how this method of eating lighter all week and heavier on the weekends will work, but i guess as long as i dont go over my daily calorie burn i should still lose weight.  has anyone else tried this??  i cant stick to a diet if i cant have at least a little freedom on saturdays when my boyfriend comes to visit me at school, plus id give up way too early if i cut out every single unhealthy food i love lol.

well anyway, if anyone has any advice or wants any, let me know...

LET'S GO BIKINI SEASON 2009!!!

Hello Ladies

I am 5'11 199 pounds. I have been a member on CC since last July. I have lost a whopping 7 pounds, lol. naw I wouldn't call that alot, but I have lost a bunch of inches. Last Monday I made a decision to get serious about my weight lost. I am trying to get down to 170 by the summer. My routine consist of 25 mins on the elliptical every morning b4 I go to work. I park my car 15 mins from my office, so that is about 60 mins of walking, going, coming, lunch, home. I walk alot while I am at work also. WHen I get off I walk around the track for at least 20- 40 mins depending on how I feel. I average about 1600-1700 cals a day and I burn about 2500 cals a day or more. Doing all that I should see at least a 2-3 pounds loss every week. Last week I weighed  in at 202.5 and this Monday I was 199. Next monday my goal is to be at 196-197. I have found that if I set weekly goals, I seem to do better and pay more attention to my cals and work out schedule.

How many cals is everyone taking in each day and what are your workout routines. Do tell!
