Tall Twins- Find people with similar stats :)
So there's already a forum started to find a CC twin... which happens to be 88 pages long with over a thousand posts and most of the people on there are between 5 feet and 5'7... so it got kind of annoying looking through so I decided to make one specifically for tall people to find their "twin" (i.e: someone with similar stats to be a buddy along your weightloss journey). So just post a reply with your gender, age, height, current weight, goal weight, and frame size and maybe we can get some matches. I'll start:

Current Weight: 162.. down from 170 when I started this a month ago, down from 237 5 years ago... eek!
Goal Weight: 150... I'm not entirely sure yet, I need to see what looks best, but probably in the range of 145-155 maybe.

I'm having the same issues with the calories. My burn meter says I can eat 2200 a day to maintain my weight, so on the weekends I get up between 1800-2200 and by the end of the weekend I've gained a pound or 2! It's horrible. During the week I lose a pound and a half, then I gain a pound back on the weekends. Right now I'm bouncing back and forth between 159 and 161 and its driving me crazy.. the 159 is making me happy tho cuz im in a new "decade" of weights I guess you could say.. but that makes it all the more upsetting when I bounce back above 160. As for pilates, I have a little set in my room but its so hard finding time to bust out a whole routine... I typically end up just doing sit ups on the ball whenever I get a chance.

My burn meter on CC says i can should eat 2000 but ive done the calculations for my BMR and ive done the activity rate and the this and the that...and i think if i have done it all correctly i SHOULD be eating about 1730. i try but still think thats kinda high so usually end up at about 1300-1600. which i know is probably not so great but im getting there! i was doing the 160/161 thing for a long long time (before i started CC...and i was only eating 1200 OR less) and now that im eating the semi correct amount of calories im up to 166-ish. BUT when i was down almost at 159 i was so excited! its the whole decade thing, no ones ever put it like that, but i 100% know what you mean! ill be there soon, when my body realizes that its not going to be in 'starvation mode" anymore/ever again.
i think im going to start a pilates class at my college, i get one college credit for it and i learn durning it. the teacher is so great, i wish i could record her like the windsor pilates lady! class doesnt start until may 19...grrrrr. but i might just email her for the reps, its too bad my ghetto gym doesnt have a class!
How do you like doing sit ups on the ball? do you do any other ball excersizes? what what size ball should i get....im assuming it should be a little bigger then the average girls ball?
I think my body may have stopped losing because it thinks its starving.. I never feel hungry tho. On a typical week day, I eat 1150-1400.. I know 1150 isn't good but sometimes I just can't get it all the way up and feel completely stuffed! On the weekends I eat between 1700-2100 though. My burn meter says I just have just under 2200. Right now I'm going back and forth from 159-161 and its so depressing every time I see it go back up. This is the first week that I haven't lost anything at all :(
I really like doing sit ups on the ball. It's so easy because I'll just do them whenever I have like 3 or 4 minutes before I have to leave for a class. I typically do 25 "normal" sit ups, and then 25 that help obliques also.. they're kinda like the bicycle sort of sit ups, but you don't move your legs. You just sit up and kinda aim for it to be toward one knee, then alternate. I'm not entirely sure what size ball it is because it came in a kit, but it looks like the normal size... maybe slightly larger but not much.
i was RIGHT where you at when i started CC. thats the reason i started actually. i was at this point where my body wasnt loosing anything. it was at 160/161 and refused to go any lower. BUT then i joined CC and realized that i was in starvation mode....which i hate to say i think you might be in, as well just by your calorie amount. i NEVER EVER felt hungry at that many calories (or actually less, i didnt calculate it back then but i know now. BUT because my body caught of wind of what i was doing to it (and was thinking we were never going to get out of starvation mode,) my metabolism was very very slow. Now that im getting closer to what my body should be at, i feel myself getting hungy...i listen to it. i can feel what i want to eat. i never could do that before but now i can. i know, i think i want an apple and im hungry....so i eat an apple. bla bla bla. if you start getting back to where you BMR should be at, well, you to be you might gain a couple of pounds in the beggining, but it will leave. PINKY PROMISE!
i think im going to get a ball. if not ill just stick to the gym and floor excercises. do you do cardio too?
I wish I could say I thought u were entirely wrong, but i dont think u are lol. My body is still losing a little.. I always count my friday morning weight on here, even tho it bounces around during a bit, and I lost .8 lbs this week which I guess is a healthy amount. I feel like I always gain weight back on the weekend cuz my body is in starvation mode, so when I put in a normal amount of food it saves it all, and then uses it all by friday. its so hard to eat normall tho because i don't have very many healthy options in the dorm. i keep skim milk, healthy cereals (special k, crispix, etc. with low sugar), and some apples in my room which ends up being the bulk of my diet. I'm a psych major and pre-med, so my schedule is ridiculous.. tuesday and thursday im in classes during every meal the dining hall offers, so i call them my "cereal" days lol. im pretty sure going home for a week today for spring break will lead to some more normal eating and hopefully my body will get back to normal.
as for cardio.. i wish lol. i barely have time to even go to the dining hall.. i do occasionally play basketball in organized games (its been about once a week) and i usually play the whole game (about 45ish minutes) so thats a really good workout. other than that, i live on my schools campus which is pretty large and walk EVERYWHERE.. i walk quickly too cuz im usually running late :) some of my classes are also on the third floor, and i counted, and thats 60-somethin stairs dependin on which set i take lol. i tried to track all the time i spent doing my speed walkin around campus with my way too heavy backpack, and im averaging sometimes between an hour and 2 hours a day, so i might not be getting an actual good cardio workout, but its somethin

well i think your doing great dealing with all that! your being conscious of it and upping it on the weekends which has to help. only i think your right that it saves it up because its thinking it needs to save it up. i finally got my body to loose weight this weekend i lost 2 pounds and i think its because im finally not in starvation. but theres not really much you can do about yours, other then your "cereal days:, lol. thats too cute.
as for you cardio, i think that walking all around campus is a great excersize. and that your doing basketball. it seems like your doing everything right. just try to snack on more and that should do the trick! i know thats what helped me finally!

I'm home and definitely getting my recommended daily calories lol. I'm trying to watch what I eat, but I'm not logging everything. I think the whole week would average out to me being at about maintenace every day. I'm hoping it gets my metabolism back on track! It's wonderful being able to eat good food again lol. My aunt made me this incredible cake thing... its in a big bowl and its chocolate cake with coolwhip, chocolate pudding, and heath. I know its definitely not healthy, but I guess its not the worst thing I could be eating. Pudding isn't awful for me and I don't think cool whip is too bad either.. it's delicious and making up for lost calories tho haha. I haven't been on for a few days cuz I've been really busy at home, so I hope all is going well :)

that cake that your aunt made, well it sounds really really good. my aunt does something similar, but not so similar at the same time. hehe. she does angel food cake circles (low fat/low cal) and then fat free cool whip (low fat/reduced sugar/low cal) and then purrees (sp?) some strawberries. voila! she loves it and she makes it at home but she also takes it with her to functions and she just loves that when she takes it anywhere as a dessert, people LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE it and they dont know that they are eating a healthy little snack. they think they are indulging in something. lol. aunts are so cool like that :)
i hope you have fun over there. im hoping it gets your metabolism back on track too. you seem to have a really good head on your shoulders about the whole thing.
oh, all is well over here. i lost 2 lbs last weekend. hopefully im still there or even more hopeful that ive lost another. go boosted metablism's! lol

I'm back at school (as of sunday night) and finally had a chance to reply. Things are getting so busy which sucks. My break had some good parts, but a lot of bad stuff happened too. Monday morning when I woke up, I weighed myself to see what damage break did.. I gained 5 pounds :( Hopefully I should start losing it again now that I'm back to eating healthier and logging everything I eat. I don't really know how I gained it because I don't think I went over maintenance on most of the days. Maybe like 2 or 3, but not 5 pounds worth.. thats a TON of calories to go over! I'm guessing it happened because my metabolism slowed down, so I'm hoping last week sped it up a little bit. My goal from now on is to make sure I get at least 1200 calories a day during the week, and more on the weekends (which typically ends up being almost 2000, which is a little below maintenance). I'm hoping it all averages out to a little over 1400 calories per day per week rather than just barely 1200 like it was before. So... how've you been doing? Anything new?
